Thanks all for watching - sorry for the vertical video. My GoPro quit working on me so had to go to a cheap phone and do it all one-handed lol. Hope you still find it helpful!

Consideting you had to do all the video recording parts one handed, great job. I absolutely love this accessory. i mount my phone on that top ram ball with with a Quadlock phone mount, and I mount my Garmin Zumo XT on the square section below my phone. That kit is one of my favorite mods/accessories on the Spyder 😁👍👍

I have one of these but I use it for a CB. I use the phone in the dash as it’s so simple to use. The joystick makes it easier to use compared to try to touch the screen to control the GPS app rather than looking away from traffic.

First class job in spite of working one handed. Nice touch using the dielectric grease.

I have a 2018 F3 LTD. I have a similar setup. However, I ran the power cables to the battery. This gives more power to run other 12v accessories like an air compressor. Because it's directly wired to the battery, I can plug a battery tender into the 12v plug and keep my battery charged. RUclipsr Spyder Minimalist had his installed like you did when he tried to use a 12v compressor it blew a fuse.

Great video! I put that same Docking station on my Spyder RTL. I made a plug in cable for my Zumo XT using some of the same type of plugs from Amazon. I made the cable so I didn't cut any of the wires for the dock or the Spyder.
This Spyder is way better to work on than the 2015 RTS SM6 I had.

Well done with the handicap of one handed operation!!

Yep, some Spyders had the accessory plug wired backward. My first Spyder (2020), I had to use the extra wire to reverse the polarity. My current Spyder (2022) did not need that polarity reversal wire.

Nice job even being handicapped. A voltmeter might have been handy for the polarity issue but no matter as you did the next best thing. 👍👍👍🤔

I need to get a voltmeter yes. Always say I don't need one, until I do 😁

@@RideBlessed I used to say go to Radio Shack - when you buy one make certain it has a minimum of 40K worth of resistance. That will insure you don’t “pop” something accidentally.

      Amazon has one for $12.99.
