The crazy thing is when I started using logic Pro, I created a template that forced logic to behave like the 2000 xl just for the media data to have the same swing. And then later, I structured templates in logic to handle most of the behavior similar to it because I really loved and missed having that piece of year. It was my way of merging the two worlds
1:05 Second commont, this is why I will use Reason 4 when I have 13 because of the very limited number of devices and no plugins, I can quickly come up with very good Idea and almost finished songs. Keep it simple less is more, the old Reason was made to replicate analogue hardware.
Magix Music Maker was great 😅. I fully agree with your points of too much Plugins/options, etc. Last week I bought the AKAI MPC Key 37 to be more simple but still get shit done 😅
Exactly I use my Looper and a guitar to come up with ideas and samples and then I kind of take a doll or the old PlayStation and write a drum beat and then lay in the bass guitars keys and vocals
That’s why I still have the Studio 2. It gives me access to the new software on my laptop for various things and I’m thinking about getting a better controller with more controls than this unit. I did a video on my channel about why I felt the software was more powerful than the hardware unit which makes sense because any laptop with any kind of power is gonna be more powerful than any standalone you no matter what anybody wants to believe. The sheer fact that I can use all of my plug-in alliance plug-ins my SSL Plugins my soft tube Plugins and I can keep going down the list directly with the MPC software versus having to use them in logic after the fact, already answers that question. So that also made it a hard harder decision to buy an X. I do believe eventually I will buy one and I’m leaning that way slowly but surely but as of right now it’s not really a priority and I have my eye on something else for now, but I wanna give a shot too. I always believe it’s good to give a shot to things and if it doesn’t work or you don’t like it, you can always sell it as long as you use it within an evaluation. Or buy it from a company that offersan evaluation. Like Guitar Center with their 45 day thing.
In my opinion, and it’s just my opinion, if you have the X I don’t think you would benefit from having a 5000 as well. It’s one of the reasons I haven’t bought the X yet. Mainly because the X does so much. The 5000 is great if you don’t have another flagship model at all. But it does come with it share of quirks. Many of which I’ve resolved on my end, but since I’ve had two of them, I will say that it could be frustrating if you don’t have the patience for it. So my recommendation to you would be to buy a 2500 instead mainly because you can add JJos to it. That’s the reason why I still have my 1000 as well because it’s really good with jJOS. If you’re buying the 5000 just to try it out and see if you like it then I I’m not gonna tell you not to do it because it is a great platform, but it does take a little getting used to. if you’re looking to just get your feet wet with an older model then just buy the 1000 because it is the best model of the older units to be used as an entry point into the older units and it is extremely versatile for what it is. I don’t know if that directly answers your question but that’s my thoughts on what you’re thinking. Again I’m not trying to stop you from buying a 5000 because I think they’re great models, but it also requires you to have a certain type of thinking when you approach it. I would say the same thing about the 4000 because if you’ve never used the 4000 it definitely takes a certain type of thinking and can get frustrating just as much.
All MPCs are computers with DAW software inside. The only difference between a MPC and a laptop with a DAW with midi controllers is that a MPC is all in one single unit who's only functions is for music production. The argument for a Modern MPC vs a Laptop for sound quality is void its means nothing, many gaming laptops have very good sound. Old analogue gear's textures and sound is a form of distortion.
With Access Analog and UAD and Acustica and my MPC X, I would never go back to hardware in my personal studio there is to many options, espcially with Access Analog.
I hear that. I think my rule applies to any scenario whether it’s hardware or software just having a familiar space for starting point before adding any extra stuff versus the unlimited of most current scenarios. Outside of using these hardware machines, my favorite place to work is logic.
Very nice man how'd you like to help out an awesome musician that isn't a businessman I've got a few Melodies I'm willing to part with to see if maybe something comes back
That sounds interesting, I am always looking for new sounds! I would love to hear what you're working on. What would you like to propose? You can email me directly at terence@petrolmediainc.com for business related inquires

I got inspired by seeing gear. I used to drool over the mpc 2000xl in guitar center in the mid 90s.

True. It was awesome. I remember 3.5
From beginning to two minutes in I totally agree so far good job

It makes a difference to be able to sit down and just focus on one thing and not have to over think the creative process.

Thanks❤ i like it
I have a software side and a hardware side in my home studio and I switch of
