Thanks for the update, John. I was surprised to see the tubes in the light fixture around 9:00, since they seemed to have so extensively stripped out the building before starting demo. Did they miss this one? It's very high, maybe even above the drop ceiling?
This last section went much faster than the earlier part. They have a different concrete shear on the shorter excavator, maybe a heavier, stronger, one? But the construction in the round-column section was very different than in the first section. The concrete seems thinner and more ready to crumble - especially around 1:54:30 - and with less steel. So how much difference was in equipment vs construction, I wonder.
When they swapped out the high reach boom for a short boom, they were able to attach a substantially heavier, stronger pulverizer attachment. However, the front of the building that they got to last was not only fewer stories, but it was the public shopping area, so it might not have needed the strength of the warehouse area in the back.
Thanks very much for this video of the destruction of an extremely well-built reinforced concrete building. One question please, what was the estimated and then the actual cost of demolition?
Marcel speaking: How does the operator see what he is doing? Does he have a camera or two on the boom end? Is it more efficient to slowly eat the concrete while it is in place or faster if the building is on the ground? I wish they would paint an eye on the shaft . It looks so much like a T-Rex dinosaur! Maybe add 2 small hands too! Oh brother! Too much time on my hands!
Missing the escalators was my biggest disappointment with this demolition. I filmed it on numerous days over the course of 5 months, but I missed that day. I'm keeping an eye out for other demolitions that might have an escalator.
This is Jules Vern,,,, war of the Robots
couldn't get a Hollywood sci-fi movie as good as this thanks guys ,the end
The best demolition RUclipsr on this planet can you please do some videos of the excavators lifting up foundations please
Thanks for the update, John.

@@JohnZWetmore Makes sense. Thanks.

Excellent video John. We have a simpler here in Australia a long reach excavator build by Komatsu a PC1250.

Woulda been nice to catch the escalators being ripped out.
