Just finished this build and I loved it! The steering function is a game changer for the Creator models. Also, the way the doors open and the dual hinges were very clever
I'm putting this together now and the manual is very unhelpful. You can't see how a piece fits from the best angles. It's better on the online version. Some parts fall apart easily, especially on the doors. Overall it's a delightful set and gives a pleasurable sense of accomplishment once done. Didn't have a bumper sticker or Keychain...but after whining to customer service, I was sent the Keychain...love it. (This was in 2020, I don't think they have more. )
Btw it’s not “Turbo Engine” it’s a supercharger. Quick summary of how it works, it just forces more air into the engine via one or two screws that literally S U C K S the air into the engine. A turbocharger is a turbine drive piece that forces air into the engine and forces exhaust out of the engine.
No it's called a blower, A supercharger is one that doesn't suck air into the engine but help with its performance, a BLOWER is a bigger supercharger and with a scoop to then suck the air into the engine
@@NS5_USR A blower and Supercharger are one in the same. Common nomenclature states that a Blower is mostly known as a Roots style Supercharger, where the screws are both male and spin counter clockwise to each other, not creating compression (or as much compression) and rather blowing air into the engine. While Superchargers are mostly known as Lysholm Superchargers, where one screw is male, and the other is female and both interlock with each other and spin clockwise of each other, creating compression. Hood scoops, or general supercharger scoops can be fitted to any type of blower as long as the air is entered in through the top, not the side or the back of the supercharger housing. Examples of rear and side entered Supercharger/blower housings are, the Hellcat 6.2L HEMI V8 engine, the 2020+ Shelby GT500 5.2L 'Predator' engine, and the 2004-2006 Ford GT 5.4L Modular V8, and the list goes on. Most custom made cars that are blown/supercharged have custom made units as well, with almost all being top enter which is where you see the infamous 'bug catcher scoop' or other stylized scoops which also serve a function in the helping of creating extra compression when air is being drawn in because of the gradual sizing down of the scoop.
@@lance_the_avocado9492 they are different really besides being superchargers yeah they are the same but specifying in the video the mustang uses a blower
Love that promo. The background is definitely Los Angeles. Love the way Mike fixed the door problem. The car in the mirror is an Easter egg from the movie Bullet. Love the way you can turn the wheels finally. That drag option is so cool. I think the expensive price comes from the licensing.
This is supposed to be 1967, but the 390 engine was a 1968 and the rear lights are 1966 because on 1967 Mustang the rear lights curve in and these are just flat. Just a bit of info for anyone interested. Edit: So Ford actually did this sort of hybrid between years and mushed them into one, so that is what Lego was aiming for.
just a cool detail I noticed, looking at the side scoops it's obvious the model is a 67 Mustang, and the blue used looks very close to Nightmist Blue, which was a factory color for 67s only
7:25 a subtle nod to the movie Bullitt, with the car in the rear view supposed to be a 68 charger. Although the mustang used in the movie is also a 68, not a 67. But in the movie, it's the mustang chasing the charger.
I'm late to the game, but they did have automatic transmissions in 1967, this model has the automatic. I think Ford tried to have it so that it could be both a manual and automatic transmission, it was called the select shift cruise-o-matic, but i may be misremembering.
I put the extra 1x1 round printed tile on the steering wheel. I too have print issues with mine and a couple that are really really bad. I will be ordering replacements. Both of my windshield pieces have deep scratches too. I will be ordering those. Plus my hood does not sit flush like Ryan's seems too. I checked everything too...why my hood wouldn't sit flush is beyond me. I'm very happy with it, but not happy with windshield damage, printing offset, and flush issues. This is the first Creator Car Expert model I have had issues with :c(. Oh and I named her Eleanor.
The hood problem can be solved by replacing the two long black flanged 1x8 plates with two 1x2 flanged pieces. I did it with mine but I don't like the upgrades anyways so no real visual changes for me
oh man, i can't wait for mine to get here... after watching this video, i'm considering picking up a second one so i can have a modded and un-modded on display together... Thanks for sharing.
It could be a coincidence but the box picture of the Mustang by the spillway it's probably nod to Gone in 60 Seconds. Where Cage and Eleanor ( the Mustang) were outrunning the cops and losing the helicopter in the chase scene down the spillway.
At the beginning of the video you said that $150 was a good price for the set because the price to piece was there but at the end of the video you said it wasn’t and you gave it an 8 out of ten for that. Why did you change your mind just wondering

It's a supercharger. Turbos are kinda circular. They have tubes that feed into their fans. At least you're not like my mate who thought it was an engine cooler and had an idea of what it was meant to do! Plus 390 ci (cubic inches) not hp. Quick btw to help out.

I just got done building this model and had an absolute blast with it! My only complaint was the printed striping you mentioned on the side looking off. I still prefer this over it being stickers though so I guess that's about as good as they could do. Fun Fact - take the extra 1x1 Mustang logo piece and put it on the steering wheel! Looks perfect there and it's where I kept expecting it would go as I read the instructions. As you said though, it is just 'extra'. Great video man!
The rear view mirror looks like it has an Australian built x gtho series falcon of similar vintage in it. The t bar transmission was an option from factory.
