    The best Airbus MCDU programming tutorial I've seen yet. You make it logical, concise and easy to understand. Very nice work.

    Great video ! Very informative. Could you explain how you come up with V1, Vr, V2, ZFWCG, Flaps/THS, and Flex Temp?

      Hello Tony,
      Thanks for your comment, in the older days we used to use multiple charts and tables to manually work out these calculations, as Pilots during the type-rating course we go through extensive training on how to calculate these. However in modern day ops we have apps on our iPads / laptops catered specifically to giving us these calculations.
      The ZFW, CG and stab trim is given to us on a load sheet by the Load Master (Ground Dispatcher) we then take these numbers and inset them into our calculator along with weather info such as wind direction, speed, qnh, temperature, runway surface condition (dry/wet), anti-ice on or off, runway length, and hit the calculate button. It then gives us the V-Speeds and also let’s us know if we can do a Flex take off or we need to do a Full TOGA take off.
      A good example can be found at this link here … perfcalc.pradz.de/

    Thank you Captain...That was an excellent video. Just a quick question. When you enter the waypoints in the MCDU, there is no information abt the Speed/Altitude at various waypoints. In that case, how does the Aircraft get the Managed Speed/altitude from the Flight plan?

    • @waypointsaviation
      @waypointsaviation  4 дня назад

      I believe you can review and add any constraints before the FAF. If the constraints don't match your chart, you can add them to ensure they align.
      And if you don't have information in MCDU , the only source will be the FCU selection.
      Managed is related to FMS - MCDU, no other means to feed the AC about your managed information / selection apart from the MCDU inputs.

    • @jibulissan
      @jibulissan 3 дня назад

      @@waypointsaviation So, how can u enter the Speed/Alt for each waypoint in the MCDU?

    • @talaljohar6446
      @talaljohar6446 3 дня назад +1

      @jibulissan
      Go to the F-PLN page on the MCDU.
      Use the right-side line select keys to choose the waypoint.
      In the scratchpad, enter the FMS speed/ALT (e.g., 220/5000 for 220 knots and 5000 feet).
      Then, select the waypoint again using the right-side line select keys to apply the changes.
      Everything should be done using the right side of the MCDU.

    Hi, On the airbus a320, in the separation of the two glasses on the windshield, there are three marks, two white and one red. What are they for? Thank you.

    • @waypointsaviation
      @waypointsaviation  8 месяцев назад

      Hello,
      Those are the indicators we use to make sure we're in the correct seating position, the red ball in the middle is slightly lower than the two white balls on the side, so we adjust our seats laterally and vertically until all 3 balls look like they're in a straight line from where we're sitting. This ensure's we seated optimally and correctly in the cockpit.
      Hope this helps :)
