I slightly disagree, Driving isn't hard. The more high intensity situations you put yourself in, the easier it is to react effectively even under pressure. Being a good driver just takes practice, muscle memory, and not owning an suv. Maybe its the chaos of nj/ny traffic, but Pushing the clutch in, braking and swerving isn't uncommon. I only say this because I've skirted more accidents last second then I've actually been in.

Are you from NY? It happens all the time in this one section of the LIE service road bc there's a turnoff for GCP east, GCP west, LIE, and Van Wyck. all within half a mile. This is a daily occurance, especially westbound LIE after you take the 22A service road exit; people drive slow as crap and still somehow miss that GCP exit and yank it.
Look at these coordinates on Google Maps, 40.738316, -73.848478, then head east bound (flow of traffic towards the highway signs up top). My guess is that the other car was a TLC (taxi plate) based on all the reflective crap on their car and crappy driving, and was paying attention to their GPS instead of the road.. You'd think these taxi drivers are better than most drivers for being on the road for multiple hours a day, but nah, they've got to be the worst 9/10 times.

I was damn lucky there was no upcoming traffic, but otherwise that would have been a very nasty situation...
