- Buying a new car can be scary, especially if you want to use finance for a new car, or haven’t done so before. There are so many three letter abbreviations, and it all gets a bit confusing. What should you watch out for, and what does it all mean, and why might you consider one option over another?
Hi, I’m Jats, and if you are a petrol head like me, then this is the channel for you.
In this video, we discuss the options, look at real life examples and bust car financing jargon - how does it work? We talk about PCP, Subscription models, Salary Sacrifice, etc. I’m joined by Dhroov who is fairly new to car buying.
I'm proud to say that this is our new channel and first ever feature episode!!
My car buying journey started in December 1985, when I bought my first ever car at the grand young age of 18. It was a 1978 "T" registered (in the UK) Peugeot 104ZS. CNR730T. A rare model.
It was bright orange, tan interior, with saggy seats, which were propped up with my dad’s old trousers that I squeezed into the seat squab/bolstering. Happy memories :-)
Since then, I've bought and sold about 30 cars for myself or my family - YIKES.
I'm not FCA registered or a money lender, or financial advisor - and therefore I cannot give anyone financial advice. The information in this video is merely a discussion with my guest, based on my personal experience of buying and selling 10’s of cars as an ordinary private individual (I'm not a motor trader).
Feel free to challenge your lender or money broker and validate as you learn, like I have. Most importantly ensure that your lender, broker or financial advisor is qualified.
