Galand and Melescula were apart of the villanious group from the original series. As already stated, they're from the Ten Commandments.
Galand was kind of a fan favorite, even though his time was short lived in the original series. He got defeated by Meliodas and Escanor on two separate occasions, but he definitely had the most entertaining personality out of the Ten Commandments. To other Demons, hes considered an old guy with a lot of stories to tell, since the average life span for Demons is 1,000 years old, and he was already 990+ in the original. The 4th oldest confirmed Demon character in the entire series. 3rd if a certain Demon who can split into two is put back together.
Not much to say about Melescula. You could either loved her or hated her for various reasons, but she was the persistent type whose whole deal was being extremely annoying to kill.
Her and Galand were on the weaker end of the Ten Commandments in terms of power, so they are good characters to bring back to test the new protagonist power.
And an FYI for future questions that are never really answered in this series or the prequel, Galand looks like he is wearing a red knights helmet, but it is actually his skin. He Is apart of a class of Demons that appear to have armor on, but it is just what they are naturally born as. His original design was an entire set of "red armor" but it was all just his flesh.

@Drawingkee No, it's not four Horsemen of the Apocalypse spoilers. It's about Galand and Melescula from the original series. Really just talking about their characteristics and power levels from the original. I tried to make it as vague as possible to avoid saying too much about Seven Deadly Sins since you're going to watch it after.

Manga spoilers:
We only see Arthur and Galand themselves say that him and Melescula were once Commandments that laid waste to Britannia, but Hendrickson and the others already said that this episode. That's the most gotten. They're all limited descriptions. Galand and Melescula only remember who they lost to before their deaths, so they go on a rampage with little memories. Their characters were limited to power displays since they once bought the Sins to their knees in their prime days of fighting. The Four beating these guys means they at least fight on a level comparable to the Sins a little into the Holy War.
The other hooded man is the traitor mentioned a few chapters ago, since he says he knows Liones better than those from Camelot.
The only person I can think of is Ard (one of the two soldiers who tried to attack Gawain). We will see, thanks for the comment!

Like i told u, you dont actually have to watch 7ds to watch this series. Even tho u dont know the characters that appeared at the end it will be explained in the next episode
