Joni Ballion hosted a talk show called Conversations on KMTV that preceded Good Day. Late 70s early 80s.

Did they have the same "Touching Point" speaker every night? Didn't notice him being identified at all.

I wonder when channel 3, 6 and 7 stopped doing sign-offs? I only remember when channel 12 did sign offs and they stopped that sometime in the late 00s or early 10s.

Maybe Jack Horkheimer’s death in 2010 had something to do with it? BTW I use to love that version of Arabesque by Isao Tomita that would play during his Star Hustler/Gazer segment.

The three major Omaha Stations were signing off into the 1990s.
Latest dates I’ve seen for sign offs
      range from 1990 (KMTV)
      1992-1994 (KETV)
I got no clear date for WOWT. Latest dates I got from the Signoffs wiki say 1986, but I’m certain that if none of the other major Omaha stations weren’t 24 hours at that point, then WOWT was still signing off at least up to 1990.
Wasn’t until the mid 1990s at the earliest that all three stations were 24 hours. NET signed off OTA signals up until the 2010s (but not every night by the 2000s, just on some nights most likely by then) but their cable and Satellite feeds, by the early 2000s, were on 24 hours, following the PBS Satellite schedule.
I haven’t seen any thing concrete, because finding Omaha TV listings from that time period isn’t that easy. Maybe someone has a TV guide magazine collection for the Omaha area, or tv listing collection from the Omaha-Nebraska newspapers, and can fill in information on the dates.

How long was Henry KMTV's voiceover?
