Hi, Gareth. Thanks for the review. That wagyu steak looked next level. Very tender looking. Love how you threw in an egg and some fries with it too. Lol..keep up the spot on work. Best wishes from Scotland.
Hi Gareth, you mentioned expensive but it’s much better value for money and better quality than the beef short ribs from Iceland in your previous video. I suppose it depends what you compare it with, Good luck with everything mate!
Fun fact : It’s not actually blood in steak it’s water and myoglobin , the iron in which turns red when oxidised, I might pick one of these up with some shrooms and peppercorn sauce later , happy Easter hope you get your egg

Happy Easter to you, your Good Lady and your children, enjoy your day with chocolate Easter Eggs, that meal that you had with the Wagyu steak looked so delicious
Loved this review. Could feel your anticipation all through the preparation lol. So glad it was worth the wait. Yes, it's pronounce 'wag you' ~ wa (japan) gyu (beef). Which makes it surprising that it's used as a label for British beef. Wagyu-style might have been more appropriate. Anyway, as a special treat it looked fantastic, and tasted equally awesome judging by your response. Happy Easter!
that just looks amazing little feast great vid pal and content that food was just spot on and a nice little tip for the elevation frying pan lol great job pal
Great review, and you cooked it well.Athough i could see you were nervous 😀.When you were opening it i was starting to think it was one of those boil in a bag things!fair play to Aldi that packet was pretty air tight.
Perfect steak just the way I do it and the egg tip is great, I am going to try it next time. Here is another egg tip.....at the end instead of flicking the oil over it put a tablespoon of water in the pan and cover with a lid/plate for a min the egg steams and it cooks the top so you don't have to flip it or scoot it with the hot ol.
Great channel. You are going to be as big as Hairy Bikers. Stick with the comparisons and don't go down the road of home cooking. What you do is unique. stay with that. I am from Ulverston bur presently living in Thailand. So miss simple foods!!! Good luck
Steak looks fab, I would prefer it a bit more pink, not by much, but a bit more. I will try it - husband loves steak, hates vege! I am fussy re meat, I am not keen on a lot of marbelling altho this is where the taste it from. Its nice watching some one cook to see what they do.... Keep cooking and buying foodstuff and keep going with the reviews. I think if you came across something you didn't like you would be honest. Happy Easter to you and your family.
That looks absolutely amazing. I usually get their Specially Selected Ribeye and it's great but this one looks a level above even that. Will keep a lookout for it appearing again!
Just catching up with your videos from the weekend - the steak looked amazing. 👍 A new aldi has just opened near me so I may have to see if they have them in stock. Great video as ever mate.
When they come in they sell out in a matter of hours even at £25 each! They come In a posh looking box with a window to show the marbling something else
Happy Easter mate. That steak was cooked perfect for me pink but not dripping in blood.I got myself a cast iron pan recently and the difference in cooking steak is amazing you can get that slight crust on the outside even i can do it.I love steak and eggs too.Have a great weekend take care.
You are such a happy possitive guy who seems to enjoy the little things in life and your family is important to you, thanks really enjoy your attitude to life, when you get lemons make lemonade, fair play.
That steak looked great - not sure about the egg though, not a fan of crispy edges on a fried egg - tend to do mine at a low temperature so the white has a nice, soft consistency.
When I was younger I dated a lass for two year from 16 to 18 and I really got on with her dad I ended up going around to the family home just to spend time with him. You remind me of him so much. Really enjoy the videos mate. All the best

Happy Easter mate. Fantastic video. Your steak looks pukka. You have to add some onions, mushrooms and peppers next time in the remaining steak oil fry it on that pan it’s pukka and then rest the steak on the bottom of the onions and then add some onions mushrooms peppers on the top it is amazing the flavours. Adds that oooomph to the steak. ‘If you know you know’ it’s a Birmingham saying lol.

Ive worked in silver service level restaurants and hotel sculleries all over Britain and abroad, and i can tell you thats the best fried egg ive ever seen.
That looks really nice Gaz. I make different steaks for tea every Saturday and i have learnt a few tricks. Open the packet and salt it on both sides at least 4 hours before cooking. Take out the fridge 20 minutes to get to room temperature. Olive oil in the pan, then some butter to finish and glaze.
That looked fabulous. Thought to myself I’m gonna have that tonight. Then realised its bloody Easter Sunday only one of the two days of the year that the supermarkets are closed. Can’t wait until tomorrow.
This won't be like the wagu you get in a restaurant . Uk wagu us graded 1-12 the best in the uk will be 6 or 7. Aldis wage is between 2-3. Aldi uses Warrendale and they have 4,000 cattle overc125 farms Now you can take supermarket steak up a level by following a couple of steps, One: Buy a steak Two: Unwrap the beef, rinse it well, and pat it dry with paper towels. Do not trim. Wrap the roast loosely in a triple layer of cheesecloth and set it on a rack over a rimmed baking sheet or other tray. Three: Refrigerate for three to seven days; the longer the beef ages, the tastier it gets. After the first day, carefully unwrap and then rewrap with the same cheesecloth to keep the cloth fibers from sticking to the meat. Four: the longer you leave the meat to age upto 30 days extra, hou will need to trim all the day outside away, so for steak 3 days is good for no waste, the colour will darken the texture will be slightly tacky to touch and a nutty beef smell will develop this will get stronger the longer you leave. When your ready to cook the beef get your beef dripping melt and paint a layer all over the steak, wait till the dripping as dried and repeat this twice more, this now creates a self basting steak, again once tried you won't change If you really want to explore dry ageing get some dry ageing bags it works like a vacpac but it's breathable you xan take pirk lamb beef venison upto 60 days , you will get some funky armoas and is really donecfor hardcore tans dont do this will normal vac packs Once you do dryvage you won't do anything else
