So sorry to hear this story. I had a similar story. My rescue purebred beagle was just like that. Such a sweet dog, but he would bite you if you tried to help him, as I did. I had that dog for 7 years and he was such a good boy, except when you tried to do something to him, like tend to an injury on him, in which case, he would attack. I'm a big animal lover and still have pets, including a dog, but I had to take him to the vet and have him humanely euthanized over the biting. He was the best sleeping partner that I ever had, from man or beast, but he was dangerous when you tried to help him. I got bit many times over the years. I am so sad for this nice lady and pray for her to get well from her setback very soon. And sending her love.

I picked up a rescue from buddys second chance. She snapped bit my face tore open my lip. She also attacked my neighbors dog and bit him. The police and animal control/SPCA investigator came to my home. It was awful, I would not take the dog. I had to go to the SPCA in Niagara county and pay to have her put down. SPCA said because she had two documented human bites and aggressive towards other animals she could not be adopted. Buddy's second chance took her back and she is currently up for adoption. It wasn't until me emailing calling complaining that they even bothered to put a disclaimer. The dog was a sweetheart majority of the time but super skittish at times. An absolute danger to children, elderly and other dogs. Like the SPCA investigator said not all dogs are good. She was given a second chance when the pawned her onto me. One of the founding members of the dog rescue contacted me said I have the perfect dog for you, she was fostering her. Feel like I was targeted because she knew the dog was difficult. I gave that girl a great year we had many adventures she loved hiking and walking along the Erie canal bike path we did it daily often multiple times. It's sad a rescue would put the life of an animal over the safety of a human.
