yeah sorry haters paul simon is certainly not necessarily the dude i wanna have a beer with and hear some sketchy things and claims about his giving credit over the years and while i see some moments of what id consider to be stereotypical of my parents era of new york jews i also see moments of humour and personality esp the moment he picks up the guitar to sing mystery train... and he has written many many amazing songs... and im excited to see him live next week...
@themusicmaker91 He's a very chill person, but listen to his early stuff. The lyrics, while beautifully written, are very depressing. Lyrics reflect the artist, so there's got to be some darkness in him somewhere. But he definitely enjoyed this interview.
@McLushi He said "They don't give you an A for effort." If you don't know, that means that the recording industry won't reward you just because you tried.
@smoove002 oh, is this an all yankees show? i've never heard of it, but know that yes network is the yankees. was just wondering why simon, a songwriter, would be on a sports show.
I hate when People get older..... It's life.... but it's something we should tackle more then war....Being Youthful and trying to look that way. He looks good ...just aged a lot within 5 years
He doesn’t give Artie credit for anything - hardly mentions him. His success started when the fans fell in love with Sound of Silence which was on one of his albums with Garfunkel. The fans were calling the radio stations & asking for this S&G song. That is what started his career in music. The song went to #1 and stayed there for a very long time. Without Artie’s beautiful vocals & their harmony together Simon would never have had the success that he brags about. He needs to give credit to his partner for helping him create those songs. Huge ego problem 😟
this guy has no personality..anyone else find it strange that as he was going thru 1950's yankees he mentioned some no names and neglected to mention mickey mantle or whitey ford?
A great interview with a great musician.
Love this - Paul’s amazing... Love the Foxhole reply at the end 💕💕💕💕
Love him ❤
The “proudest song”... should be ALL of them. Best songwriter EVER...
Paul Simon is genius! I love him!
I love how he asks what his favorite elvis song is, and then he starts playing it. True musicianship. I love this guy! :-)
Love You Paul!!
i think knopfler and simon are rooted to the same inspirations. i wish they would collaborate
A lovely interview and a lovely man. Probably can't help it that he is a Yankee fan, though (especially when appearing on the YES network).
GO SOX!
Pure brilliance
Very interesting! great Paul! where can I find the whole interview?
Utmost Respect....
Hard to believe he turns 70 this year!!

@ Stephen - YAY..!! I wouldn't mind sitting dwn having a beer with him though. And, I am going to see him on 9/7 in Tampa - can't wait...!
that foxhole response was gold, lol
@zeroeffects88 He seems quite reserved and humble to me, always has been.
How awesome :D
"No way would I be trapped in a foxhole." That's probably true.
@themusicmaker91 He's a very chill person, but listen to his early stuff. The lyrics, while beautifully written, are very depressing. Lyrics reflect the artist, so there's got to be some darkness in him somewhere. But he definitely enjoyed this interview.
NIce

what was the last question and what did Paul answer??
@smoove002 oh, is this an all yankees show? i've never heard of it, but know that yes network is the yankees. was just wondering why simon, a songwriter, would be on a sports show.
Cannot catch, what his father said to him at 5:05, can somebody tell me, please ? Sorry, I am a Kraut :)
McLushi That you don't get an "A" (grade) for effort. Meaning that you have to do good work, just trying hard won't suffice if the work isn't good.
@jgk381 nawww man, all u gotta do is watch pretty much any other centerstage and ull c this one was pretty brutal compared to those.
art should be enjoyed, not questioned, did these groopie, want ta bees, need to know more?

@Jeepacreepah01 aging is another aspect of life. You cant stop it otherwise your living in denial
It's hard to find a man with more of an ego than Paul Simon. Don't get me wrong he's a genius, but what a complete egomaniac.
@ IHate - He has done enough to have a "big ego", although he doesn't have one...
@smoove002 this interview was awesome, idk why he was on this wack sports show though
who is this guy?? never heard of him
...
THE INTERVIEWER SUCKED,why do people want every thing from their heroes.?
TIMOTHY.BURKE LINES Kay is a moron.

this centerstage sucked.... paul simon seemed so miserable throughout most of it.
What a dull interview.

@ Thomas - Shutup
yeah well, his was an era when you became famous for talent, not looks or image or likability
