Achieved on April 13th 2014.
Beating the previous record of 5,405,930 set by Stephen Krogman in 1998
TG (Rank D 20k/70k/70k)*
Stage 426*
Shots fired 28527, Hit 23333. Hit miss ratio 82%.
Streamed live via Twitch: / 4057244
*You get extras up until 1m, then no more - a total of 18 ships
**256 + 170. Game rolls from 255 to 0 then proceeds as if you are starting a new game. However this does depend on difficulty settings:
Rank A and C: The game will lock up
Rank B and D: Stage 0 is playable and will continue to stage 1 and beyond, infinitely. - Игры
I have made it to over level 200. After a million points the game turns over and starts at. Zero. This guy is using mame. Which is cheating. Play the arcade and stop needing to cheat. Any victory in video gsmrd or real life that comes as a result of cheating is far more dishonorable and pathetic than if one just honestly lost. This is the life of those who can't compete at anything on merits alone
MAME and Arcade play exactly the same. I live streamed his game on Twitch and the INP is available to download and playback yourself. Also I did 10,301,080 on the real arcade cabinet this past weekend, is that good enough for you?
With mame all kinds of settings can be tweaked. Even frame rate. If you don't do it on a caibinet then you are second best no matter what you tell Your self. In your case maybe 3rd or 4th
The facts are this. My galaga skills are far superior to you're. If there was a galaga tournament i rule it every year in perpetuity.
Same goes for street fighter 2 turbo. If I have an snes controller my chun Li is the best in the world. I'm not trying to be funny. I'm the master it a thousand deadly lighting kicks. If there was a street fighter tournament I would be rich.
These are the two games I rule and have Dominion over. It's not bragging or shit talking but COLD HARD FACTS.
I RANK MY SELF TOP 10 IN THE WORLD FOR UNREAL TOURNAMENT AS WELL..
WARLORDS FOR ATARI 2600. I ONCE WIN SOME GUYS CAR FROM HIM IN A BET THAT IS NEVER LOSE A GAME OF IT. I ENDED UP GIVING HIS CAR BACK TO HIM JUST SO HE WOULD HAVE SOMETHING TO BET ME WITH AGAIN. I WON HIS CAR A TOTAL OF 7 TIMES BEFORE FINALLY TAKING PITY ON HIM AND FELT SORRY FOR HIM BEING A TOTAL LOSER EVERY TIME WE FACED ONE ANOTHER. NO HUMAN BEING SHOUKD HAVE TO BE FORCED TO LIVE THROUGH DEFEAT, failure and capitulation over and over and over .
Consider your self lucky we do not live near each other and have access to an old ballys midway galaga game. Your confidence would diminish so much after we were done your girlfriend or wife would leave or divorce you over it
But I do admire your love for galaga and that you have managed toacquire better than average galaga skills. You are better than most and that's your best I respect that but your best just isn't good enough when you are stacked against the likes me.
Your playing catch up ball when you play against me my friend.
Practice real hard for the next decade then contact me .
Hahahahaha you’re a tripper
Shon, It says MAME right in the headline douchebag. Don't be Jelly....
Player 1 has got a lot of catching up to do..
Yurick I feel sorry for player 1
Poor Player 1...
Ready player 1....... Yes I am.
😂😂😂
It won't show 1 million points on player 1
The key to galaga is to stay in the middle. Don't get yourself trapped at the sides.
That was always my strategy, definitely gets hard in the later stages though!
hahaha...
I love the sound effects in these old video games. They are so nostalgic.
Most satisfying theme in the arcade is the Challenging mode prefect completion theme.
The Lamer Gamer Hell yeah, also the 2nd theme at the victory/name entry screen.
Although short, the extra life sound is super pleasant as well! :)
@@SanicTehHegehog yes. I also ever reached Stage 199 in NAMCO MUSEUM VOLUME 1 version with a total score of 1986650 pts.
i love how this game didn't need music, the sound effects were enough
The sounds ARE music!! 😎🙌🏻
Bruh I was feeling so special for reaching 52,000 until I saw this 💀
Same, except I made it to 210,000
I started playing recently and I reached 45,000. First of all you should have fun with games and not become angry or play too much trying the "impossible" unless you want to make some world record or so... probably with time it will become higher but for now be proud of your little score as am I
Legend has it that player 1 is still watching in awe all these years later.
I'm just amazed someone else was here
I had to leave my game, when I was a kid, because my mom got off work. I was at stage 127
DANNGG
I would have told my mom, "Hey, Mom, I am going for a world record here and they said that the prize would ensure that I would make a comfortable living for us." Needless to say, since I grew up poor, she would have happily accepted said request if she saw my skills, as well as the very big cash prize.
your mom sux bro
Mad max?
stranger things?
Use to play this in the early 80s in my local arcade. I once saw a guy make it to 107.
The player 1 score is not used because it has one digit less than the player 2 score. However, the right most digit for either score is always zero and is basically unused. If all the enemy kill values were 10% less, then the player 1 score would be able to hold the desired high score.
yeah galaga was about the most playable game back in the 80s made you felt like a bad ass
ESPECIALLY when you had a crowd around you while playing!!😎👍🏻
I get so much anxiety when u get cornered with your double ships >_< ahhh I used to always have the worse luck and got hit and lost my ship
Nice Job I examined your tactics and short game. I clapped a few times at your display of skill. Dont let the haters bring you down. I took a humble Galaga high score at my local retro arcade. 2,768,000 and had to make a big point to the clueless staff to notice the ships were firing back just to prove I didnt use the 2 Bee cheat. Cause you know someone out there will try and bring down an accomplishment with lowbrow accusations. What I noticed your game excels at is shot timing and the varying tempo. Its still something I'm working on with this game but you seem to have it mastered. Bravo!
Why am I compelled to watch all 3 hours consecutively? Sounds like a change machine taking my quarters. The sounds of Qbert and other video games chiming in the distance
Level 80 something was my high. This guy just made me look sick.
Lol ive never made it pass stage 10. The most points ive gotten is around 52,000 give or take.
He's cheating
Bruh my max level was level 6
The old video games used to overheat. You have a really score up a high score up in the millions and the damn thing would crash and reset. They would get really hot to the touch
@@javhonnbrown6625It's not hard to break 1,000,000 once you do it the next goal is the killscreen. My record is 2.94 million
30 years ago I was the kid next in line with my quarter in hand. I was forced to learn patience
This is a good game, and you play very well! I enjoyed watching this video. Thanks for posting.
One of my favorite video games of all time. Thanks!!!
I thought I was a Galaga Boss until I saw this video . . . same technique, but this guy has precision timing and placement (especially in the challenging stages). Excellent inside cuts too, dodging the lines of bullets intended to trap you at the edge. I take my hat off, this is Galaga Mastery!
I used to play this as a child in the mall - still love it to this day.
Props for making it that far!
And I thought my high score of 969,000 back in the day was impressive! lol
In the 80s I was playing 5/6 hours solid without loosing a challenge ever the arcade owner wasn't happy seen me going in everyday lol, I can't remember exactly the score but put it that way I was playing for about 6 hours non stop, and yesterday I discovered that I can have on my ps4 holly shit, today I ordered the proper arcade stick a Sony cheap one, my takes me a while to get back where I was or at my age probably never will lol but brings so many good memories I remembered I had about 20/30 people looking and clapping, I wish was now.
I was the same way, and the same with Missile Command. After a while the bar owner where I played missile command would just give me beers so I wouldn't play. lol So he could make some money. HAHA. I would play the table version of this game and missile command for hours and just piss people off. That was funny. I now wish I had all that time back. I must have wasted weeks or months of my life on this junk.
after 4 hours my sister come to switch it off, the console transformer was a hell, so hot.
3.2 million in 1983 was the national high score in Arcade Magazine by me. Local paper wrote a story and I was a God in the Game Arena every Friday/Saturday night. After a few weeks of showing off for big crowds the owner asked me to stop playing on weekends so he could make more than .25 for 3 hours. Got about 20 tournament tshirts from winning high scores across the city at various arcades. Great times!!!!! I got the cocktail table game table now that I occasionally play in my game room.
Wow. What a random recommendation this is! lol - Nicely done. Also, being an old fart myself, for those of you bragging in the comments from years back about playing on the "real cabinet"... the way you probably got so high compared to this "MAME player" was by cheating yourself. Those of us who actually chunked quarters / tokens in there back in the day, also knew how to "wait it out" on Galaga, and then have a blast while making that token last. This guy is actually playing the game. ;)
My favorite game after pinball. They say video games are not good but this is an exception. It forces you to act fast. I miss the arcades...
Very entertaining and fun to watch. Thanks for posting this.

I have this game on PS and I suck at it, but now after watching this video given me alittle confidence & skill to make it past STAGE 10! Now I see the pattern Now I made it to STAGE 37! thx 4 the post GREAT JOB!
buen juego en mis tiempos hacia varios millones ,el juego me gusta hasta ahora 2020.
I can barely make it to the second challenging stage, hats off to you!
Gotta love the level rollover after level 255!
Had ONE game that I did that in. My best was 4,505,000 back in 1983. Past a certain point it is just repetition and the game doesn't really get any harder.
0:34 (Thinking in my head) Is he dumb!?! LOL
At the laundromat that I went to as a kid, (im only 13 now I mean like 1 to 7 years old) There was a Pac-Man and Galaga machine at the same time. I love them both so much, they give me childhood memories, Idk how old they are but I hope they dont shut down. It'll make my heart break, and I didnt play it in the 80s XD I played it in like 2008 and 2009 when I went to that laundromat alot. But I still feel old 😭 I love being a child, I miss it so much, i feel like I didnt live up to my full potential when I was little :(.

Kid : Mom! Can I have a quarter so I can play the video game?
Mom : Yes, but come back when our pizza is ready.
Kid : (Stuck behind the guy in this video)
can i use my tankstick if i download mame and the galaga rom? (win 10 pc)
i have it on xbox360 and XSX but no adapters (mrs pacman also)
That man is playing galaga. Thought we wouldn't notice. But we did.
Is it just me or does it seem like at times you move faster when you need to dodge or need to get the sides?
Astonishing
Thank you for sharing
I have found that I do better staying as a single ship, although yes, if I had gotten my technique down, I would do better as a double ship.
So many quarters I've spent at the laundromat playing this game. I used to play it before and after school
I know this is the MAME version, but is their any way I can auto fire on the original?
I used to play this game and Joust in the 80's/ Great game!
I can’t even get to level 5
@Robert Pierson This was a year ago, I bet she is level 6 by now 👍🏽
Stage 5 (Loop 1, Stage 5) (0+5=5)
I made it to level 26 yesterday and got a boner. I can't believe how good you are! Nice work man. You make it look so easy.
+Kurt Mauer Thanks :)
+BarraNZ just curious, why did you decide to be player two
Player 1 side only has 6 digits. Player 2 has as many as you'll need. Saves having to count the rollovers :)
BarraNZ Galaga That's animated aviation. Speaking of that, I Wonder if you can help me get to a You Tuber Who can upload promos ids and more from The Discovery Wings Channel in 1998,1999,2000,2001 and early January 2002. What do You Think? And By The Way Great Job on Your Score. Congraulations.
Kurt Mauer🤕
This is probably the most satisfying game of all time imo
2023, GALAGA still has a special place in our hearts. Setsuna Yuki, Coco Hayashi, and Tomori Kusunoki all ever reached Stage 500 in Galaga.
My favourite game in early1980 that remembering 250 stages for the end. It spend about 30 minutes per millions, bcoz i spent 2.5 hours for 4.3 millions. I had stopped the game even though remaing 3 fighters due to mom and shop owner.
Stage 250: (Loop 8, Stage 26) (224+26=250)
Stage 0 (256): (Loop 8, Stage 32) (224+32=256)
I can't go for a piss without dropping a credit on galaga.
Most played game on arcade cabinet.
Closely followed by defender.
Good video.
how can you get it to show more than 2 at a time.. is there a way?
I love this game
The real champion in my eyes !
Finally got to see the ending screen when it flips over, 256 possible levels total.
One of 3 things happen: If finish as A Class you will get the right Kill Screen (like pacman) if you finish as C Class you will get the Ship and the Stars go past, Nothing more, Anything else results in a reset
My childhood
I loved this game . and also came cross this nice beats @
just want to share with you guys about this game..... in my naughty time (in year 1980 till 1985, at my age 17-21)... in my hometown in Ipoh Malaysia, I've watched somebody are very skillful in this game... but he reached only at stage 100... not till stage 426... and he get around 300,000 point as what I can remember.... but ...this guy can reach STAGE 426... WOW.. WHAT AN AMAZING SKILL...!!!!... GUYS... HE IS NOT A HUMAN !!!... HAHAHA... LOL...
*“That man is playing Galaga!” - Tony Stark 2012*
My dad beat this along time ago. Level 600 and a score over 9 million. Playing it all day long on one play.on level 2 you leave the bottom outside 2 and the stop shoot eventually.
So do you use your whole hand for firing or what cause damn u got a trigger finger
Highest I ever saw someone get on an arcade cabinet was stage 64, my friend Jaime at Grand Prix Golf-A-Rama in the late 90s.
I always want a game like this
Thank goodness he didn't take advantage of that famous bug that causes the enemy to stop firing
I was waiting for it 😂
Why is BarraNZ starting as Player 2? Does this help avoid the level 255 glitch?
Player 1 only tracks 6 digits
Stage 255: (Loop 8, Stage 31) (224+31=255)
Stage 0 (256): (Loop 8, Stage 32) (224+32=256)
Well done, my high score was only about 3 million. That was back in the 1980s with the original version of the game
Incredible!!
Galaga was released in 1981 as a sequel to Galaxian, which is a sequel to Space Invaders.
I have a game of over 5 million. Does it count if its a saved game?
Nice playthrough man :-).Although i thought there was a kill screen once you got to wave 256?.
Thanks! On certain difficulties yes theres a killscreen. Rank A (easy) and C (hard) have killscreens and Rank B (medium) and D (hardest), don't. Competition on Galaga is always played on Rank D :)
Thanks for the info,i never knew that about the different difficulties. Are you planning to get a record score on Gaplus or Galaga '88?.
Stage 0 (256): (Loop 8, Stage 32) (224+32=256)
Im very curious as to where you play this? in an arcade or do you have it downloaded somewhere??
i actually have a pacman and galaga arcade machine in my house from my grandparents
Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator (MAME). You just need to find the suitable ROMs
Dang you is good!
Superb game, I dips my hat to you, SK's 16 year old world record was considered to be untouchable.......
+Robert Test Thanks. He still holds the arcade record of 15,999,990 :)
+BarraNZ There is an arcade game of Galaga in our malls arcade.... you brought some life into me, because that game is all about strategy and to me, better than any other game now.... in my opinion....
I knew something was wrong when the galagas divebombed on level 4
what emulator or how was this posible
You sir are a god ......
That man’s playing Galaga
I played this on my PS3 to unlock an item for PS Home, can't remember what level you had to reach or even what the item was...
That's 28,527 finger pushes on a button you'll never be getting back.
My highest score was 370300 on just a cabinet.
It is greatful friend!
There was a weird glitch at about 2:23:58 where a shot came from the very top of the screen and went through the "2" in the score. It didn't change anything but I never saw a glitch like that and I used to roll this game regularly.
Pretty much I think it's because an enemy shot at the VERY bottom of the screen. which made it appear at the very top
this kind of glitch is frequent in games that go to the NES pretty much
At first I thought this was a TAS, because it came up with other galaga TAS’s, but I was wrong.
What do you play with? Controller, keyboard, joystick? And if so which one
A steelseries M500 keyboard :)
Anyone who can play the game at this level should ACE all challenging stages.
I agree but they are a welcome breather from the madness that is the stages in-between, and so concentration can lapse. Definitely a bunch of missed points though. Well over 100k I'd imagine
I hear you. I used to play this at a bowling alley, while my younger brother was bowling. One quarter would last hours....I used to have to kamikaze when he was finished.
I agree. After a while, you need the challenging stages just to have a breather. I've let them go completely just to let my eyes rest.
I dont know if the setting on Galaga was different(it didnt seem when I played it), but someone got 17,000,000 on the Galaga at the 82 bar in LA
I've seen stuff like that also. I've certainly played into the millions. Some of those "records" were set in the 5 ship mode, and some in the maintenance mode also. Lots and lots of cheats out there. That's why the official record is done under supervision.
There was a game like this but as a reward you would get like some kind of defense because it would be circling around your plane and it would kill the invaders trying to kill you, anyways anyond know the name of that game? I thought it was made by atari!
Nice
The game not end!
galaga throne: the new bullet hell shooter
I used to play this with my mother before bedtime. We would take turns for each life until game over. In fact, I'm playing it as we speak on the PS4.
What's her high score?
Very very very good
Can't believe YOU played for 3 1/2 Hours
(older brother) you can play when I die
OMG!!
What is mame anyway?
Legend!!!!!
After 3 hours and a little bit of hysterical laughing...you realize that there are too many ongoing simulations within other simulations.
Those red aliens you gotta watch out for.
In order to make the game more exciting, we would pick an arbitrary stage and the person who had the highest score at that stage, say 50 would win - regardless of accumulated men.
It works well since you cannot point-scavenge on a game like this, as there is a maximum number of points the player can get on each and every stage.
Stage 50: (Loop 2, Stage 18) (32+18=50)
Man, and i was proud of myself for getting to Stage 10 and 53,000 points. Though, i hate to say it, but "Hector Fly" has got you beat as of 2018.
That was Armando Gonzalez streaming at Hector's place on his Twitch channel. He holds both the marathon and tournament records as of right now and was who I played in the final of Score Wars last year :)
Stage 10: (Loop 1, Stage 10) (0+10=10)
GALAGA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WOOW
Am I reading this right, that this game popped an extra ship at every 70,000? I played an arcade version that gave me ships at every 60,000. I made it to level 200 (over 2 million points) 13 years ago, and quit because it was getting extremely redundant. Under the same circumstances, even at my age (50+), I could still drop a million points with little trouble.
Never mind. I saw the rest of the video; a free ship at every 70,000.
Depends on your dip switch settings :)
