- Celebrate and explore human movement in this multi-episode series featuring dynamic people who use their bodies and minds to meet the challenges of a world in constant motion.
In this installment, host Matt Chan and his wife, Cherie, are on the “Big Island,” Hawaii, hanging out with professional big-wave surfer and CrossFit athlete Shane Dorian. The couple spent time with Dorian surfing, bow hunting, working out and meeting his family.
First up: bow hunting.
“Matt’s the kind of guy that everybody hates,” Dorian says of the six-time CrossFit Games athlete. “He’s the kind of guy who wants to learn how to surf and can learn super quick. He’s the kind of guy who picks up a bow for the first time and he’s a great archer. … I think he’s gonna be a badass bow hunter.”
Practice is different than actually hunting, though.
“I think I shot three arrows and all three were misses,” Chan says.
After hours waiting and hunting, the men didn’t get any boar.
“Even though neither of us put food on the table that night, it was an experience I won’t soon forget. Hunting has been an essential part of life throughout history, and this evening I got a sense it might even be coded in our DNA,” Chan said.
Watch for more of the Chans and Dorian in Part 2 of the first episode of “inFlux: A World in Constant Motion.” In Episode 2, it’s off to Alaska.

Great to see the hunting element. Nicely done!
Completely understand the rat race of society and desiring to pursue "your life" saturated with your passions and loves. You two inspired me when I first read about you all in pursuit the life you desired. Keep going with these videos, really enjoying them.
Great idea for a series of videos. Most of us use crossfit as a means to prepare for life. Surfing, hunting, and even golfing are easier because i crossfit.
Cool vid, good story too.
this is awesome.
really good stuff

Thanks brother
Hola Matt - Come to the Amazon in Colombia - South America- with all your toys. Hunting here is awesome!
I've said it before and I'll say it again.... Matt Chan is fucking awsome! He looks like he is just the nicest dude ever. An inspiration for sure!
When did these episodes start?? This is awesome, I love Matt and Cherie!
Lol matt looked more like a paintballer chasin that turkey haha
Playing some Lucero, I like it
I can't help to think that Matt Chan looks like a young James Hetfield. He is seems to be such a cool guy!
Awesome video! Anyone know the song around the 6 minute mark?
No bacon tonight. Better luck next time!
I can't believe they hunted those poor pigs that's so inhumane
We live off the land. Fishing, hunting. We have lots of pigs in Kohala. Need them for the luau right? That and tuna for poke.
Humans have been hunting throughout our existence. Why stop now?
Lol shut up
Way to get more in touch with your body is to go from a compound to a longbow.
Awesome video, the voice over parts sounds WAY too scripted and need to flow a bit better, but otherwise I look forward to the next one
Soundtrack for this and 1.2 is killer
hearing Lucero at the beginning was a nice surprise.
Never understood how people stalk with a whole camera crew behind them lol
What's more inhumane? Letting an animal live its life free in the wild, eating its natural diet, living in its natural habitat and only harvesting it when its use can benefit us, or living its life a prisoner, in an assembly line like fast food factory, being fed and pumped full of who knows what, to be shipped off half way around the world to wind up in a happy meal?
Can you make more videos what the hell was this just a two episode series?
The reason you had bad luck hunting was due to you camo. You should have been wearing Real Tree
Guys. I have no problem with hunting and do so myself, butbhope you understand if you killl the mother of those little pigs, they don't stand a chance
1. The pig that was hunted was a lone male. 2. In HI with no predators to control their populations, "those little pigs" would stand a very good chance.
Quantum flux
Aaannnnd you get paid to do this?? ......sigh my life sucks!!!
so not macho killing the animal with the weapon...where is the point... :(
Who said anything about being "macho"?
Oscar Schneegans ok, so not human...
***** i do not eat meat...and he is killing poor animal just for fun/hoby...wtf? maybe it`s the part of ˇamerican dream"
Jelena Rakić Humans have been hunting for our entire existence. How can hunting be "not human" if it's been part of our existence since the beginning?
Jelena Rakić They're not hunting "for fun". They're hunting for food. Didn't you see them cooking venison at the beginning of the video? And no, hunting isn't "part of 'american dream'". Hunting is part of being human. It always has been.
