It’s slightly irritating that you call it Tilly palace, it’s not a palace at all, it‘s part of the fortifications of the city. The reduit Tilly protected the southern side of the Danube from attacks.
Ingolstadt was the primary fortress of the Bavarian army (Landesfestung Bayern).
