- I did it. I beat my time from just over 2 years ago, and by 51 seconds! I usually have Mysterious Assassin down about 30 seconds faster than this, though, so I'm going to keep going for sub 7:30. But for now, FINALLY a good quality recording on an Arena Mode record! (accidentally forgot to mute my mic, but that's relatively minor. Enjoy my sparse talking to myself commentary!)
Also worth noting: I recovered my lost save file for the no potion run, so I'll be able to work on finishing that up.

_You seem like a sophisticate of spelling, a wizard of wonderful words, and a bashful bookworm blatantly blessing us with barbaric boss battles bombarded with a bonanza of brain power. Clearly, you leap for loads of literacy and you push towards persuing proficiency in practicing pounds of perfect proselytism, perhaps pondering the purpose of possessing proficiency in this project of a game. You are appalled by the abundance of alliterations attached and associated to an action accurate to this, but to be brought to a benevolent bestowal of my beseeching, I believe being bantering, yet bucolic and possibly blithe, blesses you with a bundle of bluffs that are also bettering to bestowing upon you my question._
Alliterations aside, I am wondering what tools and strategies you use to quickly think of words, especially of such obscurity and magnitude as "peat", "bads", "dabs", and "beaters", not excluding those that are approaching and potentially exceeding the 8-10 word limit. You see, I am concerned of my rather subpar vocabulary, and I wish to become more literate with my overall tone of speech. I have used tools such as this game, and other word games like Scrabble and Boggle purely for entertainment, but had never become proficient to the point of increased chances of victory due to an increased vocabulary such as your own, so I would not only appreciate, but highly prioritize it if you told me a few of your personal methods to being so quick with vocabulary, whatever they may be.
I highly appreciate viewing this gameplay and will most certainly be subscribing to see more episodes of your clever wordplay, clearly exemplified in this video. I only wish the best and predict the best from such a well-trained sophisticate such as yourself.
This comment is amazing and I'm appalled I didn't see it until now.
Anyway, strategies I use to look for words... I look for common letter patterns (ing, str, de/ed, re/er, and so on) and then look for ways I can use those. Arena is more about constant motion, though, so I just go with the first 5+ letter word I see most of the time.
Also, a lot of the time a word will just jump out at me from the full set of letters available, and even I don't know how I got to it. I've been working on Letter Quest runs lately- going to export my stream VOD for any% to here shortly :P

IxezNij To be honest, I really don't practice specifically for this game. I've played a lot of Scrabble and Boggle, done a lot of word puzzles, and just generally unscrambled words quickly throughout my life. Playing the game just tunes the smaller tactical decisions better: finding words is entirely "practiced" outside the game.

How do you press attack button by not clicking it with a mouse?

I think many players use "4" since "1"~"3" are used for the potions.
dont forget it is sped up. but it is very very nice
You can actually tell that it isn't sped up from the timer at the top ticking at the same rate as anyone else's playthroughs, as well as attack animations running the same.
If I'd slowed down the game and then sped up the video to counter this, then the sound effects would be desynchronized and the music distorted.
Ihavenoname248 but then how did you spell tgese unbelievably long words so rapidly? In my grid there hardly any opportunities for long words. Only rarely
Practice, experience, and restarting if I don't see good enough words early on. I also find that there's almost always at least an 8 letter word in a grid, though that word may be obscure and hard to see. As an example of what I see and miss, the very first word I use is "boulder". According to an anagrammer, I missed "letterboxed". For the second word, I did find the best possible in "expectation", which I found by seeing a "-tion" and trying to put other words, like expect, in front of it. For the third word I saw "waterfalls" which is just a compound word. I missed "gracefullest" as a 12, and I think this gives the idea.
That start is still one of the best starts I've ever had.

you should try Bookworm Adventures Vol. 2 Arena.
(if you do, Skeletrox+Collapsible Iron Rod+Time Helmet+spam scrambles is the way to go.)

waffledoctor87 The biggest problem with Bookworm Adventures 2 Arena is that by spamming scramble with the Time Helmet, the timer stops while it scrambles. So you'd end up with 16 Diamond Tiles, power up & attack with a moderate length word and the enemies die. That's just not that interesting to me from a gameplay perspective: the 6 minutes on the in game timer would take over a half hour.
