I looked just below the light and saw the instruction to press on the icon for three seconds. That worked! The light went off.
If you actually remove the top shelf, it is so much easier to remove filter. It gives more room to lower the filter and take it out. Thanks for tip where to get cheaper filter.
Tip: If you remove the shelf just below the filter door, it will allow enough room for the filter to come completely down without needing to jimmy it with a spoon!

You can also remove the shelf and pull the water filter cover all the way down and pull the water filter easily..

And sometime if you take that glass shelf out, you don’t need a spoon, filter comes right out once you pull it down it all the way

Remove top shelf and lower filter to almost vertical and you won’t need the spoon
It’s depends on frigid pressure. That’s why I use something flat to got it out easy
