At Sun n fun this year I had the opportunity to check out Daher's new line of TBM 900 series at the. The all new TBM 940 is the newest line of turboprop fast airplane produced by Daher. With the performance you get in this aircraft, one would have to think twice before considering buying a light jet.
The TBM 940 like it's predecessors is the fastest certified single engine turboprop airplane in it's class. With cruise speeds north of 370 miles per hour. The airplane will sit up to 6 people and it is geared more towards the owner/operator pilot or entrepreneur who needs a time machine to get from one place to the other.
TBM 940 is equipped with state of the art Garmin G3000 avionics package. And this system comes ready packed with lots of safety tools to assist the pilot flying the airplane. Over speed protection, under speed protection, autothrottle, autoland, and the list goes on.
The Daher TBM 940 starts at $4.6 million fully loaded.
TBM 940 performance specs:
Capacity: 6 people
Engine: PT6 -66D 850 SHP
Range: 1723 NM
Speed: 380 MPH
Price: $4.2 million - $4.6 million

That's the tbm stevo flew in
Yup. Tail #’s match. I wonder why Mike didn’t just say that.
@@TheGbelcher He did mention Steve flying the TBM (coincidently with the same tail) at 2:02
Really enjoy your videos all the way from the U.K.. I just started learning to fly and your enthusiasm for the subject is infectious !
I love your videos so much! Really opens me up to different models
Mike thank's so much for the plane reviews!
I flew one from Chile to to the US, as well as teaching the owner to fly it. What a dream aircraft.
I actually bought the owners SR22, which had less than 200 hours on it. I got an incredible deal on it.
The absolute dream aircraft for me, I have always loved the TBM series but this is the peak.
Oh man, I taxi'd one from South America for a client (I do flight instruction, Aircraft Delivery (2nd hand), as well as owning an oilfield Delivery business where I fly people and parts into the oilfield). Flying it was literally my favorite job of all time so far.
And I ended up getting an incredible deal on the owners 3 year old SR22. He gave it to me for the price of a very early model, and it had 217 hours on it since new. That aircraft is my personal flyer, and will be for decades to come, I imagine. It's doubtful ill ever get close to owning a tbm940 or M600. Not unless I win the lotto.
MoJo - Great content & info. Your explanations & preferences about the "bells & whistles", performance numbers, etc. R spot- ON.
Thank you for explaining the REALITIES OF OWNING & FLYING YOUR OWN AIRCRAFT.
Just a pleasure to listen & fly with you.
😎.
Awesome content. Much appreciated.
Amazing aircraft, thanks for the tour. And I do watch Stevo. All good. And similar look to your Sling. The Sling is nicer but TBM is catching up!
Love love watching your videos, enjoy watching you fly brother, keep em coming,
Congrats on your success. Love the passion in your voice.
Love that Kodiak in the background, that is one versatile machine!
Another great review! Sign me up for the 940. Let me win the lotto first. Haha! love the cockpit symplicity and autoland. 330 kt's!!?? Amazing bird. Thanks Mike! Go MojoGrip Go!
Excellent Video!!! Love this plane.
I love that paint scheme also. A big fan of the dark on dark schemes
thanks for the vid, in love with this airplane, your airplane is awesome also
Love the sound of a turboprop!
Awesome tour of the TBM! 💯😎
Wish I could have been there to share the experience with you as we did back at NBAA. Fly Safely my friend.
Awesome vid Mike! This is the bird i wanted to see most! Thanks for reviewing and I know you're saving your pennies for this bad boy!🤑🤑🤑
Simply amazing incredible engineering that That little propeller can fly that immobile object around this earth....
Subscribed. Great videos sir!
Great job on this video (and the others as well). I am 6'3" so, the cabin info is very important! Would have liked to have seen you sit in the pilot seats for a size perspective too. Thanks!!!
Hey keep up the good work. Like what your doing .
Sick plane, Great video.
Wow. My wishlist aircraft. Love it.
Wow that cockpit is clean
Well done video. 👍
Beautiful plane😍
Beautiful machine
Mike... great review on one of the nicest turbine prop planes out there...! Im an avid watcher of Steve-o's channel and always impressed with how pilot friendly he makes it looks...! Did you fly into the event?
Impressive aircraft. Upgrade from the Sling to this beast Mojo.😀
Wow! That is gorgeous. 😍
I think I watched Stevo1Kenievo fly that exact TBM-940 in in along with another Pilot. You, Stevo1Kenievo and Premier1 are my favorite aviation channels to watch.
I was just scrolling to find if anyone spotted the tail numbers are the same in his clip that he uses to point out Stevio flyin :D
Damn fine looking plane!
I wish you interviewed Stevo1 Kenievo, and Nasser on the flying characteristics. Maybe you can join Steve on his TBM for a joint video. That would be great as I subscribe to both of you.
yes , Stevo Flew that TBM to the Sun n Fun 21' with Nasser. good idea. 👍🏿
Why, don’t need to, TBM is a million more and the inertial separator can be turned off at cruise altitude for more power keeping hot section cooler. Not so on m600, it stays on all the time for simplicity to the pilot but is not good for the engine when taking off in hot climates like Sedona in summer. The rest you need to know is just bla bla bla.
@@tropicthndr what are thoughts of Diamond Air DA60 - DA50's compared to turbo prop Pilatus/TBM's? Thx
Very Nice!
That TBM is one bad ass plane!
Mike, good video thanks
TBM is a work of art
What a slick machine. It really should barrel through the air like a TBM.
I met my wife selling her a brand new turbo charged car... almost 40 years ago.. just about that same color scheme.. it was the nicest car on the lot.... came with a lifetime warranty.. ✨💙
happy Mother's day Mike.. from me.. and my family to you and your family 👪.. Abrazos from Arizona
you have plenty of hair.. but.. I actually have all of mine.. even if I am an old guy dude... no worries mate
beautiful interior and avionics.. shizaaaaam.. I worked on exotic cars in my early life.. Porsche is... very much like this.. sans wings, unfortunately 😕
Walk in Beauty.. Go in Peace ✌🙏Namaste
no jet engine, either... probably fortunately... brakes are for sissies and... the pedal on my wife's side doesn't work too well
it hot out there man get a cut .. great video
I loved the smell of JP4 in the morning when in the USAF !
Free video? miracle!
awesome..ya look good in it...buy one

Great review. You should try to get the Company to let you take one up and do a live review.
Wow, keep going bro
great video
Damn, that auto pilot feature is cool.
That TBM is a nice looking plane.
Good review sir. Flightlife!
Took plattis from sanfrancisco to sandiego. Would love to check this one out!
It’s about time they built something like this
I want one!!
dosen’t seen so hard to imagine such a plane to me.
Hey Mike hope all is well with u and family.
The tbm 940 has a range of 1730nm and a max range with 4 passengers and 2 fligh tcrew of 1200nm.
Cruise speed at 300kts u will burn 38 gallons per hr above 300kts ur burn is 49/50 gallons per hr
Max altitude 31,000 but the perfect altitude for the tbm is 28,000.
I only know this as we recently done a overhaul on a part and whitney PT6A-66D engine, it's a beast 😁
Cheers bud take care
@Biggus Dickus hi, each aircraft has a maximum altitude but don't use it they use a slightly lower one, the higher u go in a aircraft the harder the engine has to work due to the lack of air.
So for the tbm the perfect altitude for flying is 28k as that way the airframe is not put under too much pressure and the air quantity is perfect for the engine.
Hope this helps
wish she had center sticks like Diamond...doesn't block flight instruments, can use either hand unlike a side stick and the flight instruments and glare shield could be 4 to 6 inches lower for more visibility over the nose on climb out
Hi Mojo Mike from Sydney, Australia.
The TBM 940- Wow!
Quick question: however.
Can a pilot move the variable pitch prop (feathered position) with no power generation?
Thanks Mike
🏈🙋♀️
It's very similar to Tempest Gray on the '88 Honda Hawk GT motorcycle.
Hi what’s up… When would you do a review on the new TBM Speedbird?
"If i as a pilot (...) want to make a nap, i can do this" - Disadvantages if you work and listen at the same time, sometimes you miss some important words in between... 😅
HA! HE LOOKS LIKE BILLY OCEAN! LOVE THE CHANNEL!
Stevo flew that one to the show for display. 👍
My fav.
“I’ve got more hair than most people”.
*sigh. True*🙁
4.6 mil? i wasnt expecting that!
Yeah I love the TBM in Microsoft Flight Sim😁
When you get to the 4 million dollar price range, a couple hundred thousand dollars is nothing.
The window difference between the TBM and the M600 is that the TBM uses more smaller windows, that provide more square inches of light.
The TBM with the large side door verses the split door of the M600. That's a no brainer. The M600 door reminds me of the twin Cessna 300's passenger door.
If I had the money for a TBM, I'd order it without the pilots door. If you've ever flown on a pressurized twin Cessna, you'd be asking for a single piece door. One less set of door seals to replace.
Can't wait for Cessna to get production going on the Denali.
Im going to own a plane like this
looking forward for a pc 12 review
L.E. pc12 ngx
PC12 is my wet dream
PC 24 is badass
I’m will give anything for PC12NGX
Just saw steveo1kinevo video! This was the plane he flew!
Here's a couple of comparisons versus the m600. I have flown both and currently fly a 930.
TBM 50 KTS faster
3K higher
Wider passenger door with air stair
(Drop the Piper stair and it will cost you 2K)
Ability to flip middle seats to give you six forward and much greater legroom for all passengers.
100 lb more baggage in the rear
100 lb of baggage in the front which doesn't exist in the m600
Pilot door. No more requirements to be an Olympic gymnast to get in the front seat if you're over six feet tall.
Much more stable and turbulent flight. The TBM flies like a tank with almost zero yaw
Чтоб в дороге твое сердце не знало тревоги и без задержек ты оказался на нужном пороге!
Amen~!
State of the art
Wow
I would rather fly an old Citation or Kingair, You guessed it, two engines😎
The long nose is due to the low weight of the engine and weight and balance.
Im sure it helps laminarise the air flow before it hits the cabin for better aero aswell.
@@triedproven9908 yup, like the "beaks" bullet trains have
I wish this plane had a twin turbo option
What was the airplane on the right window at 7:45?
I thought Epic E1000 was slightly faster, and had a 4000 FPM climb rate.
happy Memorial Day
Hello sir..i want to see this jet fly..
That planes flies into LZU frequently.
Nice plane, but what else is available in the $5,000,000 price range?
I thought the title said it was THE fastest turboprop available and I was about to be upset as a Piaggio fan
Yo, It's the Black Knight
The 940 'maximum' cruise speed is only 330 kts and long range / reduced power cruise speed only 252 kts.
Whats the name of the paint of this bird?
Price?
Been 300 k in preasis!
$4 mil+ and you still have a prop.
is that a PT6 engine
Did anyone else cringe at 7:10 when that lady was using the yoke as a handle to climb in and out? 😬😬😬🤦♂️
OMG did u see that.On a 3 million dollar high performance aircraft !
....thought it was a Buick. :(
Yes. I fly at 930 and I was taught to hold on to the yoke getting in and out. It's one tough bird and it won't hurt anything.
@@mikeh7256 Lucky! If I win the lottery, I’m going to buy a Cirrus SR22T to learn to fly with and gain experience, and then eventually trade it in for either a Cirrus Vision Jet or a TBM 900 series. BTW, I just checked out the video of your 930 posted on your channel. Very nice looking plane!
Dang, I missed seeing ya....
How is the engine failure performance?
In my opinion, very good. Set your best glide at 120 KTS And you will fall at around 800 to 1K per minute.
Making me wanna see a turboprop equivalent of the Wolkswagen XL-1, the actually-built-and-sold engineering masterpiece that does 240mpg on the road, on a tiny diesel. Just hopefully not launched right before the manufacturer has a gigantic world-ending scandal though.
Just watch steveO fly it to sun & fun.
Can it reach to Hawaii from Washington or California?
Not without a paddle
Happy mother's Day
