- This is a Music Video montage from the 1987 VHS Tape "The Living Legend - Bigfoot 4x4x4" Song is titled "Legend of Bigfoot"
The video this came from is probably one of the rarest Bigfoot tapes out there. I had a copy of this tape when I was 4-5 years old, but then it got lost during a move. I then found the video again about 15 years ago at a Blockbuster video and that was the last time I saw it.
I emailed Bigfoot 4x4x4 a few years ago inquiring about the tape and they didn't even have it.
A few weeks ago, on a whim, I searched for it on ebay (which I had done several times in the past). Low and behold, someone posted the tape for sale. I immediately bought it and I had it within a few days. I am now sharing this clip from the tape. This music video is probably why I like this tape so much. After 21 years, this still brings a smile to my face every time I watch it as I am reminded of the wonderful days of my youth.
Bigfoot 4x4x4 is the property of Bob and Marilyn Chandler.

I remember going to monster truck shows with my dad and my brother and it was awesome. My cousin had this tape when we were kids, Big Foot is the king of monster trucks.

it all started with Bob Chandler not being allowed to video tape his own trucks during racing......and not all truck owners want to tear their trucks up like they do at MJ events.
One guy puts tractor wheels on a truck, and it turns into a national sport. That guy is a genius.

Monster trucks have come a long way since Bob Chandler invented it.
1973 is where it began.
The first monster trucks were raised pick up trucks with larger tires.
Then eventually given a super charged engine, military axles, and 66” tires.
However, factory built pickups being used for monster trucks were phased out due to rolling over, with glass in the driver’s eyes along with broken backs. Not just that, the trucks were actually fragile and expensive to repair. That’s why we have roll caged monster trucks with fiberglass bodies.

It all depends on which Bigfoot you are referring to. The ORIGINAL was retired in 1987 and sits on display outside the Bigfoot 4 x 4 store in St. Louis. There have been several others since then, skipping the number 13 due to superstition. I personally haven't kept up with Monster Jam in several years, but I do remember Bigfoot being gone a year or two before I stopped watching. Definitely always my favorite truck in the sport.

This came out in 1986 a lot of the footage is from 1984/85/86 (Return of Monster Trucks) home footage in there. I still have my copy to this day. LOL Thanks for sharing this great history!

Every time I hear this song, I’m suddenly transported back to sitting on my dad’s shoulders when Bigfoot did a demonstration at the Ford Store in my hometown back in 1988. I had just turned five that year. The engine in that truck was the loudest thing I had ever heard in my young life. I think I got tinnitus that day and I still have that ringing in my ears to this day from it and I’m 40.
My dad and me built our own bigfoot monster truck with a 3000 hp gas engine. We have hit almost 250 mph with it. Lots of power.
The older ones look way better than the new ones!

I love my '90 F-150. True, she has problems, but she's been abused by other owners and I'm left to pick up the pieces. Wouldn't trade that truck for the whole world. :)
