From an online perspective, just saw the results announced and I was totally shocked. Nacadoches deserved at least a medal if not the gold. Articulation, dynamics, and just amazing marching! You should be so proud of yourselves. I don’t know what the judges heard or saw, but it wasn’t what I experienced or expected. Hate to say, but when will politics ever not play a part? Perhaps when Jesus comes back and sets the record straight. Hold your heads up high! BTW, I am a professional musician and conductor, grad from Vidor and. Baylor University.
Truly no idea how they didn’t win state or at least make top 5. Nacogdoches was robbed and this is coming from a Hallsville alumni. I was drum major there for 3 years and went on to to be the drum major for 3 years at the University of Georgia. Marching band is in my blood! Their balance of sound, articulation, precision and pop both in the marching and playing (which is huge for military bands) was stellar! You should be extremely proud of your performance and rich heritage at Nacogdoches!
They really did do a great job. The steps and music were fantastic especially for the program and drill. They probably deserved a higher placement and probably deserved 6th place more than Atascocita (the band I'm in). I think the biggest downfall for Nacogdoches was alignment and having straight lines throughout the whole performance. Alignment could be better after any turns, and the half-left/half-right diagonals at the two step distance between ranks wasn't great.
I agree, I’m not the best at finding mistakes but the lines were not the best. 6th-9th place would have been better for them. Instead of not placing at all.
They were a good band but there were a few mistakes that deducted points no march is perfect but it was a really good march, and they did a really good job👍
Well compared to 08 band and looking at the band now yeah I can agree 08 was a really good year, I mean even went to rose Parade in L.A yet we still have those pictures.

Not sure how they didn't win. Better sound, better lines, harder performance...

‘08 NHS band alumni here. The band has slipped bad. Fundamentals before everything else- Mr. Wells and Mr. Jordan taught us all better than this.
