When you mentioned you thought he was the bad guy, if you listen to the words of the song, he IS the bad guy to the monsters. They write nursery rhymes to scare their offspring about Witchers.

so.. in case you missed that.. the dude with the sword was the witcher.. tldr the thing he drinked (that would instantly kill normal human) was a potion to turn your blood into ''acid'' of sort.. cause he knew she may try do bait him and drink his blood.. which she did.. and that was her fatal mistake :) it still is a great videogame :D

(In the novels, Geralt has slain at least 1 other Bruxa) A Witcher is a Professional Monster Slayer, mutated by potions and training to be faster, stronger and more perceptive than the rest of the slow witted (by comparison) humans. Geralt (Said with the European Hard G as in Grass) is a Witcher nicknamed the "White Wolf". While not immortal, he is very long lived, being over 100 years old at the time of the TV series. The games come later still, after his supposed death.

This is one of the best game out there at least in my option, you guys haven't heard about the witcher neflex series too. the witcher universe is one of the best fictional world i seen so far. i can still remember the 'bloody baron' quest as well as the 'witches of crookback bog' quest like that was a movie or something, best in game quest i ever did👍
A lot of people had problems with the gameplay. It took me a few false starts before I got into it. Now it's right there with Mass Effect as my favorite gaming experiences ever.

First time I played it I sold it, never got into it...until I saw the steam sale, was a literal steal. From here I tried pushing through the slow start and as soon as the first boss (not spoiling) I got into it so much, the lore, learning a creatures weakness, the signs, potions. Man, this game is so god damn good
for me i enjoyed the beginning and then started to lose steam so i just started doing the main story missions. but, once i got to the crones it sucked me in and i 100%ed it. velen is just so damn good. and i know everyone loves hearts of stone(I do too) but, blood and wine is my jam. i love vampire lore in almost everything tho.
The witcher 3 is easily my favorite single-player game out there, and one of my top favorites period. Well written and every single "side-quest" is an interesting story of its own that makes each npc feel like a person in that world that has their own emotions/personality. I have to replay the game at least once a year... beat it multiple times and after a couple of months it's back to the beginning.
I've played this game solidly for 5 years... and I'm still finding new things every single time... truly one of the greatest games of all time.... and actually I've just started re-watching GOT lol
Everything he does in the trailer, you are able to do. The grenade, the concoction he drinks that burns her when she bites him, the force field, the push, that's why the teaser is great because the game doesn't fool you with cool graphics. You can actually do everything he did! Cool reaction!
Probably the best story driven game ever made in my opinion. The base game is excellent, but the expansion/DLCs just 11/10. One of them is actually where this trailer ties in to the story aswell.

If you play the game, you will realise it's nothing like GoT. A whole other world entirely, an amazing one at that. When i first played the game, i got so immersed into it, that i missed 2 days of work because of it. No regrets tho
The Witcher trilogy is widely regarded as some of the best money you can spend on gaming if you have any interest in RPGs. Fantastic product quality, many hours of entertainment, solid story, voice work and audio design and some very enjoyable DLC to round it out. It's not for everyone, but I'd almost consider it a must-play. The Killing Monsters trailer for the Witcher series is also a very good piece of content to react to, highly recommended.
It is the greatest game ever made IMO. It is scary, spooky, action packed, hilarious, thought provoking... The list goes on. Buy it, buy the DLC's, and just go crazy.
Witcher 3 is fantastic. It replaced Skyrim as the modern RPG benchmark. I remember what hooked me is just how much story and thought was put behind my first major encounter, the noonwraith. To this day I still like to open up a youtube video of Witcher music and just close my eyes and drift away. I can still clearly visualize myself standing in a swamp at night, listening to and seeing the wind blow all the trees under the silver moonlight. I also love GoT! I tend to like this dirty, gritty, bleak, medieval fantasy setting with a lot of moral grey area rather than the high fantasy 'everything is magical and it's clearly good vs evil' LotR feel. There is also a Witcher TV series where I think they just finished shooting season 2.
I know I'm late to the party here. Just laughed when you asked if anyone bought it. Greatest game ever made, lol. Of course, you can't just pick 1 aspect about it that is amazing. It takes around 150 hours to complete and there is so much going on in those 150 hours that it would be impossible to pick a favorite or even try to explain just what makes this the greatest game ever. Though if someone had a gun to my head, I'd say, "the writing".
@@Supes97 Yeah, a lot of people were disappointed at the original ending. Bioware went back a little while after release to fix the issue around the original ending that was so unpopular. For instance, my play through was enjoyable and the ending, though not ideal, wasn't alright. It felt like a complete story.

Geralt of Riva known as the Butcher of Blaviken or the White Wolf identification mark 2 swords one for people and the other silver for monsters. With Game of Thrones, nothing to compare, especially that Witchers defend dragons and do not kill intelligent creatures, even if others perceive them as monsters. I really recommend that you won't be disappointed, the Witcher is like a game of thrones on steroids.
I did buy it and its honestly the best game i have ever played. i think the only downside i had with it was how big the game was, there was so much to do. xD
That is not a downside in this case though. This is not Skyrim where 90% of the content is garbage fetch/kill quests. Sure if you want to complete all the content it takes a lot of time, but the extra/side stuff is for the most part stellar in comparison.

The Witcher games based on a book series written by a Polish writer called Adrzej Sapkowski in the 80's and 90's and though GoT is a fantasy as well, The Witcher series and the games at the other side of the spectrum, because in GoT there wasn't really magic and a bunch of monsters and elves, gnomes, dwarves etc. Anyway great game, one of the best games that I ever played. It changed the story driven - open world RPG genre for sure.

There's a reason for this, I didn't go too far into the lore of witchers themselves but I think it's cause they gave away their humanity for power, so everyone judges them for the fact that they sold their humanity for power work for money, and only for money That's why people also call them greedy, as they only kill what has a contract/bounty on it
@@3nvyjust3nvy96 they didn't really sell their humanity, did they? as far as i know (without reading the books, for now at least ;) ) they were the price adults payed for a job. so they had to go with the witcher as a kid and undergo the mutations which only 2/10 people survived. feel free to correct me if im wrong though ^^
Buddy it is probably one of the best games ever made, the lore the story telling the game play the depth the scope of the entire game you could spend 1000s of hours playing this game and still not get every different ending every weapon armour so many different builds and ways to play the game it’s endless
You could watch The Witcher series on Netflix too, also on RUclips are The Witcher cut scene movies from the games that are cut and spliced together into movies, some up to 5 hours long, very cool to watch.
you guys seemed really confused in the part where Orianna bit Geralt's neck and suddenly she became out of focus. it's because of the potion that Geralt drank before entering the barn. it's called black blood and it's highly poisonous to vampires(yes, that woman is a vampire). I will also assume that you don't know what a Witcher is. they are mutant and one of their ability is to being able to consume toxic potions and withstand it and being able to enhance their senses, speed and power. that's why Geralt was fine when he drank the potion even if it is poisonous. and is Geralt a bad guy? well in some instances but he is definitely a good guy that even him cannot admit. PLAY THE GAME so that you can understand it. and since you said you love game of thrones. i'll give you a little trivia. one of the characters in the game was voiced by Charles Dance (Tywin Lannister) BTW THE GAME IS ALREADY 6 YEARS OLD

I would play the witcher 3 side quest content over almost any other games main story lines. The main quest line is even better than that though.

The game is actually largely based off of ancient Polish mythology. Many of the monsters and such are old fables and mythical creatures.

You could watch The Witcher series on Netflix too, also on RUclips are The Witcher cut scene movies from the games that are cut and spliced together into movies, some up to 5 hours long, very cool to watch.

you guys seemed really confused in the part where Orianna bit Geralt's neck and suddenly she became out of focus.
it's because of the potion that Geralt drank before entering the barn. it's called black blood and it's highly poisonous to vampires(yes, that woman is a vampire). I will also assume that you don't know what a Witcher is. they are mutant and one of their ability is to being able to consume toxic potions and withstand it and being able to enhance their senses, speed and power. that's why Geralt was fine when he drank the potion even if it is poisonous. and is Geralt a bad guy? well in some instances but he is definitely a good guy that even him cannot admit. PLAY THE GAME so that you can understand it. and since you said you love game of thrones. i'll give you a little trivia. one of the characters in the game was voiced by Charles Dance (Tywin Lannister)
BTW THE GAME IS ALREADY 6 YEARS OLD
Its a thing that witchers are not the bad guys but not the good ones either. They kill monsters if someone pay for it. Thats all.
