very and i think exactly of that fact, he was so disappointed by hollyweird that he got back to boxing, drugs etc. it's incredibly sad because he's freaking talented..but i get it - he didnt wanna give Bas for roles.
When I was a kid my father took me to see the movie diner at the movie theater and when I saw Mickey work walk on the screen I fell in love with him and I have been following him ever since. I have just about every movie he ever made on DVD except for maybe six or seven that I'm hunting down now. And he made a hell of a lot of movies and I never saw one bad performance even when he was going over to Europe and making the bee movies at low budget he never turned in a bee performance. To me he is James Dean and Marlon Brando and Montgomery Clift all rolled into one. 🙏
@Chris Kroll wow. That's quite a compliment. The first time I saw him was in the movie 9 and a half weeks, with Kim Bassanger, back in the 80's. That was the first time I saw her as well. Have you seen that movie?
@@chriskroll4166I saw Angel Heart first and I was like this guy is the best and coolest actor I’ve seen. Went and watched all his best movies on VHS. Been a big fan ever since
I think because he was SA as a child, once he got into hollywood he was extremely disappointed that it took men to give s. favors in order to get jobs & his old demons came back & he went nuts. Like mel gibson, him mickey is just too fucken honest for hollyweird.
he's always been my favourite and when people turn up their noses when I say this, I feel all the more justified. His unorthodoxy and his oddness, his vulnerability, even his boorishness, all adds to his mystique. He's fully human, made every conceivable mistake and keeps dusting himself off and going forward. He looks good here...best he's looked in years.
Wow you summed it up why he’s my favourite actor too. There’s a mystique and aura about the guy. But it’s frustrating as a fan how he constantly wrecks his own career despite being self aware about his actions
An American Classic. You hear people say this and that about Mickey and its sometimes not positive. I've followed his career as long as I've been able to and he dwarfs the majority of actors plus he's an original.
Yeah as a big fan of his it’s so frustrating. He hasn’t been in any good movies in 10 years. His talent is worth way more than these trash movies he appears in
Bar Fly is a movie I make every person in my life see. It’s a good lesson in self sabotage, which is unfortunately a pattern for Mickey but if you watch his interview with Piers Morgan about his upbringing, it all comes together.
He’s so young here lol. He acts like he’s old already. I’d say NOW in 2022 he’s kind of old but still relatively young. I think he’s just a bit victimy
cool as boiled egg. what a ncie guy and what a waste of talent... Without mental stability even most talanted people get screwed mostly by their own stupid acting when making wrong choices during life journey.
It was when he starred in Get Carter with Stallone - Great movie , Mickey nailed it and Stallone paid him from his own cut just to have him in the movie 💯 Facts Gucci shades 🔥
I suspect that it is a way of hiding from copyright infringement removal, as I often see or hear things that are mistaken in titles of videos such as this.
His voice here is no longer soft and quiet as it was back in the 80s. Probably due to years of smoking and etc but it honestly reminds me of Charles Bronson which is pretty cool lol. Not sure about now though.
such disarming vulnerability... misunderstood and underappreciated, and so talented
I truly love Mickey’s tone whenever he speaks and I love his honesty and he’s got a great laugh❤beautiful eyes and gentle heart ♥️
i really feel for him, he has a sensitivity to him that he's been trying to figure out since he was younger. i hope he's found his place
Two words describe mickey rourke passion and charisma pasión and charisma in very high levels, there is no more guys like him
I think what I like most about Micky Rourke is his humanity he's a very authentic character and I think that's probably rare in Hollywood
What a lovely interesting man. Honest.

if you don't warm to Mickey you ain't human .....

Some of my favourite movies from the 80's are with Mickey.
super !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mickey the best !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mickey Rourke is a Legendary Actor, Hollywood Rebel. Great in White Sands as well as all the more the obvious films he starred in.

U know this is in late 90s right
@@frucki right.. the teen years from 80s to 90s.. he aged 30 years.. probably from so many punches to the face

This was actually a good interview and not a bad interviewer. Not bad at all, some decent questions and got a little deep with Mickey. NICE!!!
great interview!!
happy real MAN. He must continue .....
Those were his Get Carter sunglasses
So honest, love this human being, what a life journey!

Love him! ! ❤
His eyes are one of his best features. Why hide them behind glasses? 💙
because his face is already botched. You can see it all too clearly, unfortunately.
Wow 20 years ago

Its so frstrating with Mickey. He would get his chance with The Wrestler and doors did open and he fucked it up all over again.
I feel in love with he and Roberts 'Pope'; he commands the stage,
How did he fuck up again?

1998 Nice interview when Mickey was quite normal guy.

You need to fix your title. The video clearly states the interview took place in *1998*
