- Dartmoor in the rain, is there any other type of weather on Dartmoor.
So my wife and I travelled down to Dartmoor national park for a couple of nights wild camping. we parked in post bridge and hiked along the East Dart River to the water falls and on to Sandy hole Pass where Carly had a swim in the river. then we set out across open moorland for a while before heading back towards the river to set up for a riverside wild camp.

Well done Kiley and Dan for, getting across the river ok and for taking a dip very brave. Yes the colour of the water is brackish that's the discripsion used apparently, those rocks slippery when wet are potentially leg breakers I'm afraid. Early birds home ward bound, take care with them horrible ticks, nice breakfast, a great video and adventure thanks for sharing it with us take care both 👏👋

Yes, we were very careful on the rocks as we had no phone signal to be able to call for help.

Dartmoor rocks rock. Good job with the river crossings, they can be tricky at times, especially in the wet.
Oh and there are deer on the moor, but they see you long before you see them.

Loved these 2 vids, I watched the first one on Holiday and forgot to comment... I think. Typical dartmoor weather but kinder I think. That river looked ace and the last pitch you had was awesome. Nice to see Carly back out with you, you do make a great team with a bit of comedy thrown in. I was a bit disappointed to see that you didn't go for a swim in sheep's guts and bones 😂

Excellent, so chilled. Watching was like following along with you. You had some wet weather even for July. And that river had lots of water in it for the summer time! Nice tent too - splitting the carry weight is ideal for two. I need to get back to Dartmoor again. Cheers, Warren :)

Great video, loved it. Gonna be down South Devon in late September so gonna spend one night on Dartmoor! Purchasing for winter the KUIU tried and tested bomb shelter Storm Star 2p tent which is half the price of a Hilleberg and less flappy. Made and all materials sourced in U.S.A. In the summer of next year purchasing the KUIU mountain star 3p, where I will be gently introducing my wife into wild camping. Fingers crossed lol

What are your waterproofs and do they work 😊
Mine are Gortex. I think they're berghaus. A German brand. very expensive but yes they work. With minimal internal swearing too.
Carlys are a cheaper, and you get sweaty in them.
Gortex is the material you want for true waterproofing. But it's not cheap.

Look up how Gortex works. It's pretty interesting.
Any company that uses it has to submit their goods to Gortex to be tested. Or they can't use the logo.
