Right
The most embarrassing thing here is the fact that people idolize these artists instead of just enjoying the performance. Again, I've stated the entire industry is fake. Every now and then you are allowed to see a real artist, yet they fizzle out. Every artist in some way is fake and some more than others. Auto tune is one example. Ghost Writers is another. Over Dubbing on top of an original vocal of another artist or even your vocal is another. (A technique used by Mariah Carey). Did you know she can't do an actual whistle anymore and hasn't been able to do it since C&C and she EDITS her own vocals in private and everyone must sign disclosures on her studio time. Lady Gaga is another. While she can sing...most of her harmony and libs are other artists that sound like her, yet on the records none of them are listed. We have to understand it's a money machine and it's not about the creation of Prince. If she didn't do this Documentary, this would never come to light. The same for Diddy. If he would have paid Cassie and did it silently, his scandals about sex parties with men and women would never come out. Jay Z too. If he would have NEVER put the academy front and center with its unfair his wife never won album of the year and that some of you are nominated for categories you don't belong in, that led to a possible murder investigation and now it's hitting Beyonce who went country and they claim she is poking the bear...she is being called out on stealing people dance moves, lyrics, not sounding as well in a record, being a total narcissist, etc... The point is, Fans are Fools. Be a FAN to oneself and of oneself and just enjoy the entertainment from these artists. The word is artist. Someone that designs or creates which can include taking someone else's creation and calling it your own creation.
Sidenote...Contract or not. You stood stagnant and it's a shame. If it meant something to you, you could have and should have come out much sooner. Doing so in the last year after years of this shows your willingness to sell yourself short. I would have said NO to the money! Sue me! It's my voice and it belongs to my body. Instead young artists are fame hungry and money foolish. Some do bad things (the artist that made it) and others do bad things (allowing everyone to be fooled just for the money). There is no innocence in this. Britney Spears had two or ten scandals and people have forgotten them. The issue is the lack of real artistic people, but what we are witnessing is Dark Artist. Nikki does it mimicking Lil Kim from head to toe and gets away with it. Paula Abdul did NOT sing any of her music...ANY! And she was on American Idol as a judge.

She was also kind of an industry plant being used by Tommy Mottola (known as "the devil" by Michael Jackson and also Mariah Carey's ex-husband) to f with Mariah. In the process, a lot of other talented women also got screwed over way worse than Mariah ever did. Like the *real* "Jenny from the Block" from Chicago isn't struggling in luxury like Mariah; she's struggling like the rest of us while J.Lo gets away with stealing her voice and the voices of so many women.
Why did Milli Vanilli have their careers and lives ruined, Ashlee Simpson's SNL moment was immortalized in pop history, but J.Lo has gotten away with much worse for years? The real singers of Milli Vanilli were in on what was happening. Ashlee did actually sing her own songs, just not at that moment on SNL and she handled it badly. J.Lo has literally stolen other women's voices and stunted their successes whike claiming "I'm Real" (not even her singing!) And living it up with money she didn't truly earn.

If you listen to J-Lo's song closely you can hear the voices of other singers. J-LO had the right looks and styles so they used her to sell records at the expense of the real talent like Natasha Ramos. The music executives knew that J-Lo can't sing so they used other singers on J-LO's songs back then. Lets face it, J-Lo became famous because of her big booty. I'm a singer I did shadow singing for someone famous too and I was pretty and had the same type of creepy men hitting on me etc I didn't want to play along I could of been in a 3 girl group that did great in the 80's and I could of been famous but I didn't want to kiss or f..k anyone for it I got paid 1000 bucks for back ground vocal and adlibs DAMNSHAME

I actually used to listen to Natasha Ramos back in the day! She has one song called “Midnight Hour” that I revisit even now.
I had the same thing happen to me - I was modelling and was about to appear in a huge magazines but the photographer, who was quite big, kept trying to sleep with me, and I refused. He said that if I didn’t he would destroy my career, and when I complained, everyone just told me to do it because he could open doors for me and it was such a big opportunity. I told him and the industry to F Off and left all my dreams behind me. It left me depressed for years.

You know the famous Les Miserables Broadway print that has been around for decades, advertising the Broadway show? They even based the cover of the movie on that iconic image? Well, decades ago, an artist I know was asked to make a print based on Les Miserables, not having been told what it was going to be used for. He didn’t sign a contract or anything. Just made that iconic print in the French colours, of the sad, poor, little, blond girl (obviously meant to represent Cossette, a key character in the novel), her hair blowing in the wind. It’s an emotional print, and so powerful that it helped skyrocket Les Miserables to being one of the most successful musicals of all time. In fact, when it came out, critics weren’t sure that a musical version of such a large and complex book would work, and reviews were mixed, though they grew in positivity over time - and it is now considered a classic by audiences and critics alike. However, one thing that was praised from the beginning - and has been praised forever since - is the print that my friend made.
He was a young, impoverished, struggling artist at the time, and could barely afford to feed himself, so when someone asked him to make a print based on the book, and gave him complete creative licence over its design, he put a lot of thought and effort into the piece. He made several versions and chose the best one, and that is the one that is used today. Thinking that it was just going to hang on some guy’s wall (as that was the impression that he had been given, though it’s true purpose wasn’t explicitly divulged - it’s just that he usually painted pieces for people who hung his paintings at home, and the buyer never mentioned anything about the painting’s true purpose as promotional material for a famous musical, by a hugely famous celebrity composer), he charged a few hundred pounds for it (this was in London - so about $450 at the time, which is reasonable considering all the time, and work that he had to put into the piece, including doing research on the novel, paying for materials, etc).
The next thing he knew, he saw his painting up in bright lights in Leicester Square (the Times Square of London), promoting the next Andrew Lloyd Webber musical. Upset that he had been misled by the buyer of his piece, he went back to them and asked for more money, as he felt that they had not been honest and upfront with him about its true purpose. He had created it as a piece of art to hang in one’s home, not as an advertisement for one of the biggest celebrity musicals of the era. He was treated like dirt, and escorted off the premises, told never to return - that the piece was theirs now, and they could do whatever they liked with it, as they had paid for it. They said that if the artist had wanted more money for the piece, he should have asked what they were using it for (which is so manipulative, considering that they intentionally went to a young, starving, unknown artist who did not create such works to create their logo, and so who they obviously knew would never have thought to ask what the piece was going to be used for, and thus demand any royalties should his piece contribute to a percentage of the production's profits.
Just like Natasha, my acquaintance was completely screwed over by the industry. They wouldn't even advertise him as the artist who created the piece, because they knew that he would probably mention how little he had been paid to create it.
He's an older man now, and still a struggling artist. And the worst part is that he still has to walk past his own artwork in big lights every other day - a piece of art that has helped make many people insanely wealthy. In almost half a century, they have never stopped using his image to promote the musical, book, and movies for Les Miserables - it is now that iconic. And he only got enough money to survive on for a week, at most, for it.
Andrew Lloyd Webber is known for being an incredibly talented man, but a very cruel one (though of course, he wasn't the one who approached the artist that I know - he paid someone to do that…and paid someone to kick him out of the building too, refusing to even see him).
It's heartbreaking to see people steal artists' work (or manipulate them into grossly underselling it), crush their careers, and destroy their dreams. This guy is old now, and you can just see it in his eyes that when he looks up at that sign, he has this wistful feeling of nostalgia, thinking of what might have been. I hope that one day he gets the recognition that he deserves, like Natasha is getting now.
You still have your dignity. And that's not the only avenue you can take to become a model. Might not be as big, but at least you'll know you EARNED it yourself.

I can't support or have respect for someone like her. I hope Natasha goes far in her career. It's long overdue that they give her the chance she was cheated out of back in the day.

Natasha accepted what she was offered and was credited properly. She even admitted herself that JLo didn’t steal. She said she wanted to fight it but essentially she was told she had no choice, they weren't budging. So technically she didn't accept the offer, cuz she mentioned a power of attorney would probably be needed (for that deal to be signed from other than herself). I really don't understand why people have such an issue with someone just being honest, it's not shade, it's not negative, it's not hating, it's the truth. Grow up and support accountability.
Just because something is done or signed doesn't mean that it's right, it doesn't mean that the person truly agrees with it. It was notorious for back in the day for record companies to have predatory deals and use people's lack of financial stability and youth to take advantage of them. And typically artist and groups would try to renegotiate those bad deals they weren't fully aware of. Let's not be willingly obtuse...

I hear her plight, but something you gotta understand is this is how the music industry works (for better or worse)…a lot of session players or singers get paid a flat fee to do work and rarely get residuals. You can look up many many many cases where someone does a small session work and the song blows ip but the session people never get residual compensation. Natasha has a beautiful voice but at the end of the day whose name is going to sell records. I speak of experience because I was in a band years ago and we had a song that became somewhat successful and my bass line was used on a commercial and instagram reels but the song writer received most of the credit cause I was only listed as a performer 😭😭
