Trust me they aren’t forgotten. The locals just don’t want hoards of tourists and appreciate them in their way.
Outside of areas where these are known about I’ve found people have never heard of Dolmens even though they can be found all around the world. We really enjoyed the experience and having many of these locations all to ourselves.
Ireland is like Wales, if it's not raining, wait a minute...

Just found your channel. Awesome videos. I live in US but grew up very close to Brownshill Dolmen in Carlow. By any chance did you make it to Ring O’The Rath near Tullow?
Thank you! And thank you for watching and supporting! We didn’t make it there on that trip. Definitely going back so I’ll have to check it out. All our families come from Ireland. My family was from Castlepollard area and our home still stands from the 1800’s and I was able to see it and get some information from the town library.
Pity we hadn't met when you were touring Gaulstown Dolmen near Tramore Co. Waterford at the time BECAUSE.. Not too far from Gaulstown Dolmen (within 4km) is "Knockeen Dolmen" and that Dolmen has a 30 tonne capstone.. Google it my friend. Although it is "beyond" a privately owned field and you "need" permission from the owner of said field to access that area of preserved ground. Another time.. Next time you plan to come over to Waterford message me here and I'll organise that for you. Peace dude !!
I’d love to see that! I’ll for sure be coming back. My family line is from Ireland. We lived in Castlepollard and the area and came over to America on cattle ships about 1852. I did a bunch of research there on the last trip and found the home my family lived in still standing. My name is Michael Collins, which is always fun to share at the bars. Usually gets me a free drink, lol. I’ll for sure be back.
Great video mate 👌
Thank you so much! And thank you for the support!
👍👍
yesterday my family went to the Gaulstown Dolmen and i fell and i was scared of the BEWARE OF THE BULL sign (L.K age 10)
We loved that spot! We were a little concerned about the bull showing up also! Hope you enjoyed the site!
