It's great that she got a buy back. Unfortunately, there was an aledged cover-up. But they did the right thing for a human being. Thanks for sharing. I hope you enjoy your day.
I had horrible service from Blue Compass in Anderson CA. The worst experience I’ve ever had in business. Of course the root cause was the poor quality on a new RV from Thor. Blue Compass’ unprofessionalism and lack of follow up (on everything) made it that much worse. I negotiated all my repairs with 3 parties. BC was useless.
Omg. I’m glad we saw this video because we were looking at campers at this exact dealership a little while ago and almost bought one that day because it was an awesome deal price wise. But, we decided to be smart, wait until we had a chance look around some more at other campers we were interested in looking at and then make a decision on the one to buy. I’ll never go back to that dealership again now.
So sad! Winnebago used to have a good name in the RV community. We own a 2006 and love it. I would never consider buying new at this point, they do not care about the customer. The stress they are causing these people, sometimes for over a year AND the have thier money is criminal.
People do need to realize that even if they have no problems in the first year, all RV's require a lot of preventative maintenance. Like they say, it's like putting your RV threw an earthquake every time you go down the road. Not to put her on blast. But, I have seen teardrop trailers selling for about the same price. Nice work Liz. Two thumbs up.👍👍
We love our Grand Design RV that we bought 8 months ago (we had a minor issue with the bathroom drawer) but I’m keeping my fingers crossed and praying. 🙏
Molly! I know you had a frustrating experience and you need time to heal - but please don't give up on having an RV and the lifestyle you dreamed of - it is still possible! There are many of us doing just that! Perhaps a high quality brand, but vey lightly used, a few years old, buy off season, buy from an individual and get an inspection first - that will decrease the price, let someone else work out the kinks, and you still get a fully functioning RV with many years of useful life and you get many years of fun. Best wishes to you!
You found your calling 🙏🏻 it’s sad of the horrible quality of new units, I have 2013 travel trailer and now a 20 year old one owner fifth wheel in great shape, funny everything works on both , the fifth wheel is built like a tank , better than the 2013 and can imagine 100 times better than new. Thanks for your hard work
I'm amazed at the number of people having these problems that never had an inspection prior to buying. I wonder if an inspector would've found these problems or are many of them only found after really being inside the units for awhile. Such a shame people are going through this. Honestly, it makes me afraid to buy another RV of any kind. I presently have a 2004 Winnie Class C. Hopefully, I'll never have these kinds of problems. With RV's its always something though.
Love that “the people that run these dealerships (and I’ll add manufacturers) do not reflect the values of their customers and the rv community ”….you truly are a writer 💙
That’s good that Jayco bought it back ! I believe the problems will continue with RV manufacturing. Good that you are helping put the pressure on Liz ! 👍😁
I want to enter the RV world, but man, it's going to take some serious improvement by the people making them before I ever do. I thought boats were bad, but these RV stories make boats seem like a walk in the park!
Wow! Absolutely AMAZING Liz!! Another buy-back. Wow! Huge big deal for Molly, Liz and her online community, and Jayco! Good luck Molly in all your future endeavors.
As a fellow musician and composer, I find this story to be so upsetting. All she wanted to do was to be able to travel to locations for creative inspiration and she was abused by these creeps. We have maybe missed an amazing song from this talented woman. SAD! Thank you again LIZ! You are amazing :)
Another great job Liz!! It’s a shame that big RV manufacturers are putting out such bad products! Whatever happened to quality?? I’m glad she got a buy back, but it should have never happened in the first place!! DO BETTER RV MANUFACTURERS!!! AND DEALERSHIPS TOO!!
Great job Liz. Keep the video's coming. As for Jaco, they eventually did the right thing, so kudo's to them for coming around. Hopefully video's like this will continue to shed light on an industry which appears to be in need of improvement, and they take the steps needed to make those improvements.
Great ending. Will be very interested in hearing her next song after this good news! Molly, if you could write a LizAmazing intro song, we would all love to hear it. Thanks Liz.
Thanks Liz for what you do. JAYCO gets zero credibility from me. They put this woman through hell needlessly. They knew darn well her issues on her RV was caused by them and they blamed her? No ma’am, I don’t like the way they do business. I’m glad she received a new camper in the end, but all they put her through is simply can’t be replaced. Blue Compass is complicit as well. I will never buy from them.
We bought our first travel trailer from this now Blue Compass dealer, formerly Bill Plemmons RV, in Winston Salem. I did not experience any issues in 2017 when they were still Bill Plemmons. We had a fairly good run with that camper and contact with the dealership as long as we owned it. We now own a Grand Design Reflection 2023 model but did not use the same dealership as it changed over to Blue Compass. As the Blue Compass "takeover" has started, I am finding more and more issues at their dealerships around the NC area as far as customer service unfortunately. I will say that their parts department in Concord, NC is 100% top notch though. I get allmy parts for all my trailers from them, and they are excellent. I have not worked with sales so not thoughts there, but parts...awesome! I was glad to hear that they did right by this customer and that your videos and interactions with these companies are positive for the most part. A happy customer is one that will keep coming back, and spread the word to others about a great relationship with others to bring them more business. Highly overlooked these days by the dealerships, and it needs to return. Thank your for helping so many!
That's good information. And I thought I was walking into a Bill Plemmons dealership, too. And was willing to take a chance on them. And there's good people in these dealerships. They deserve better, too.
Hey Liz, you’re a total badass! Your videos are giving me the confidence and knowledge to take the plunge and buy my first camper soon. Thanks for all the hard work you put into your content; it’s making a difference for me and many others. Keep it up!
I have been following you for awhile now, and you are an angel for all these RV owners in which you have helped. I do have a question for anyone that are disabled. I have been to Iraq and Afghanistan for 5 deployments and am sad to say I became disabled on my last deployment. My wife and I love to camp so in my wisdom decided to buy an 2024 Ameri-Lite 20 foot because it is so much easier for my wife to set up and take down. I have put in as many hand rails to help navigate in the camper. The industry doesn't address ADA and what is funny is that many people ask why I deal with camping when it's such an ordeal, I loved to camp and have done so all my life. So why doesn't the industry address ADA and disabled people or do they? What other items can I buy to make the RV easier for me. One thing to keep in mind is I couldn't afford anything larger like class A or B. Thank you so much for all you do.
It sounds like Jayco stepped up and did the right thing by Molly. I purchased a new 37' 2003 Keystone Everest 5th Wheel that had structure issues. My dealer was useless and even charged me a fee to investigate the issue. Once I contact the factory and got in touch with the correct person they were fantastic and fixed everything and even picked up my rig in 4 days and started on it the day after it arrived.
so well stated: "the people who run these dealerships do not share the values of the people that buy their product". Shame on Blue Compass. Shame on Jayco. She really got screwed with a defective camper that was literally covered up at the manufacturer. So glad she was taken care of, or looks like she finally will. 'sucks that it takes publicity of this ridiculousness to get action.
How can you feel bad for this one? She was going to do the same to someone else by wanting to sell it on consignment she is just as bad as the companies .
Another great video! I wish there was another you or a team of you who did normal vehicles and all their problems and shotty craftsmanship, and or all the problems with the emissions systems and other things, the everyday people don’t deserve that for their hard earned money.
We bought our first brand new camper in 2021 for 25k. In less than a year it was totaled out. No roof sealant, bath was installed crooked, and slideout was instaled crooked causing motor to fail. Since we lived in it full time and all repairs would have had to be done at the dealership warranty was worthless. RV companies should be ashamed of themselves for the crap they put through during that time...
As a young man I worked on an RV assembly line and later was the manager of the fiberglass shop making the parts. Jayco missed a perfect opportunity to take that RV back to the roof section and remove it then move it back to the wall assembly section and remove the walls. That would have exposed all the cheating flaws their employees hid and cut corners on. This would have been in the heart of their assembly line to let all the employees inspect it first hand. That would have taken all of about an hour and given Jayco the opportunity to let everyone know what’s not going to be tolerated.
Great job Liz! My wife and I owned a 2017 Airstream trailer and on day 1 first trip.....A/C didn't work, rivets inside the trailer came out, window leak. After six months, we sold it and now we spend the 75K we spent on the trailer on seeing the world, no repair costs, fuel costs, camping fees, insurance payments etc. Just went to New Zealand and rented a Fiat Ducato campervan, awesome quality and you can buy one brand new for $49K USD! Why can't/won't North American companies make a quality product at this price?
If a RV dealer mentions a PDI (should be a Pre Delivery Inspection), you can rest assured that the acronym really means "Probably Didn't Inspect)! Always get an INDEPENDENT inspection whether new or used. What you receive in price concessions from the dealer for the host of problems that will be surely found will more than pay for the cost of the inspection, if you decide to move forward.
Liz, we love your videos. So were about to buy and without all your videos I would just buy one and roll off the lot. But NOW after watching your videos theres no way were gonna do that. Even though it doesnt mean I will catch everything at least im gonna be more educated with checking it out and going over it from top to bottom. No matter if its brand new or 10 years old. Whether I pay $1000 or $1,000,000 it doesnt matter I need to completely go over it from top to bottom.
We're getting close to retirement, and we had been thinking of getting an RV to travel after we stop working. But after watching these nightmare stories, I don't trust any RV mfg or dealership. They are a reflection of the changes we see in society at large, taking no responsibility and no focus on quality whatsoever. Maybe we'll just stay in hotels because any one bad experience there can easily be written off and not repeated, whereas RV junk can stay with you. I watch RUclips Live Simple, Live Free channel and the guy there took a U-Haul and converted it to an RV himself, so he knows the workmanship is quality and the build is solid. Plus, when U-Haul (or their mfg) makes their haulers, it is forr them and has to be quality because it's them who rents them out, not just going to some end consumer that they may not care about at all. Thanks for your video's, Liz, even for those of us who have never owned an RV.
And I would like to say you did another distressed buyer a huge service in getting their RV bought back and hope you were suitably rewarded for your time and efforts!
It's really frustrating and makes me wonder how they can stay in business. All it will take is one company doing it right and there will be a line out the door!
@@LizAmazing They won't change until they are forced to; via either market forces or regulation. Detroit went through the same disease in the 70s and 80s. They were making absolute junk and their sales succumbed to Japanese automakers. They were forced to improve or go out of business. In today's RV market, I don't know of a manufacturer that is a shining example of quality and customer support. Manufacturer's are not under pressure to change and will keep making junk as long as they can get away with it.
JayCo used to be reputable. I feel for people who spend good money on these rip off RVs and on top of it are accused of causing the damage. Thank God you helped her to get the buy back. This amount of frustration shouldn't have to happen to get a resolution though 😊
This past March I bought a 2024 Jayco Swift Class B on a Ram Promaster chassis and afterwards realized someone at the factory damaged the side and used body filler and a lousy paint job. Bought it in March and finally I made a deal with Jayco to have it fixed and repainted at a local body shop and they agreed to pay me back. It's been a couple weeks and I'm waiting for a check. Hopefully all goes well.
first off great job Liz. always good to see you helping folks out. that said I used to want to get a rig similar to this for retirement adventures but I'm not so sure after watching videos like this. add to that the lack of consumer protections and it's a very hard sell now. a real shame the industry is eating itself alive. 'lighting $25,000 on fire' indeed.
After 50 years of having owned 6 travel trailers, I am disgusted with manufacturers goal of profit first while knowingly using substandard manufactured parts and promoting false dealership sales tactics. Just like the shady automobile market, anything goes in order to get a sale and of course they can always play ping pong between themselves and the dealer as to who is going to take the blame. My own opinion is that most of these current manufacturers will be out of business within a couple of years.
My husband and I have been looking for a Class C RV . We are so very new to this. I am so very happy that I saw this. Thank you for this information it is very eye opening. I am very scared to even want to invest in one we are in our 60s. My mother told us to make sure to not rush in and to make sure to have it checked out 1st. We live in Houston, Texas On Blue Compass and jayco are the 2 places we were looking at. Not any more Thank you again
I have a similar camper to this. A 2021 Purchased in 2020 Jayco 27RL. Zero issues, rock solid. 40K miles. I want a 5th wheel but I am afraid to buy one

You’re doing a great service to those who have been taken advantage of by crappy dealers and manufacturers. Keep up the great work Liz!
Incredible work Liz. In the end its a win-win ending. Molly gets her RV situation resolved and the RV companies get some good PR.
Exactly right.
It's great that she got a buy back. Unfortunately, there was an aledged cover-up. But they did the right thing for a human being. Thanks for sharing. I hope you enjoy your day.
Thanks!
Welcome!
Oh no. So sorry to hear this.
Thanks for helping all these folks when you can.
Great job pretty sad this lady had to go through all the Well Done
Molly is awesome. What a great person who got into a bad situation.
I know it. So glad that all that will be behind her soon. Thanks for watching
Thank you!
I know. I sure hope Winnebago sees this and helps Jim and Janet.
You did it again Liz! You are an RV savior. Like you say, get an inspection before you buy!
Great job Liz!!
Thank you so much! Have a great weekend.
Thanks for your hard work
Thank you, and hang onto that classic!
You are powerful Liz, the manufacturer didn't want to buy back before you got involved. This is another happy ending with your help.
Call it like I see it.
Way to go! I have heard Jayco has really gone downhill, this is proof
I am very happy there was a favorable resolution. As always, just build it right the first time. Maybe that should be the battle cry.
There's some great work being done by some real crafts people to renovate older RVs, too.
Wow! Absolutely AMAZING Liz!! Another buy-back. Wow! Huge big deal for Molly, Liz and her online community, and Jayco! Good luck Molly in all your future endeavors.
It really is a huge win.
@@MollyMcGinnSongWriter It really is. Good luck with everything and thanks for sharing your experience.
@@michellefitz4287 Thank you friend.
As a fellow musician and composer, I find this story to be so upsetting. All she wanted to do was to be able to travel to locations for creative inspiration and she was abused by these creeps. We have maybe missed an amazing song from this talented woman. SAD! Thank you again LIZ! You are amazing :)
Thank you! There's nothing like writing a song on the road ... in the comfort of your own home. I'll keep writing, though. ;
@@MollyMcGinnSongWriter Maybe "The RV Blues".
Exactly this! Thanks for watching and have a great weekend, David!
I'm grateful Jayco is doing the right thing, too, and that Liz is shining a light on the good that can come from it.
Great ending. Will be very interested in hearing her next song after this good news! Molly, if you could write a LizAmazing intro song, we would all love to hear it. Thanks Liz.
What a great idea!
Thank you for that. It has been a journey. I've learned so much from this process. And hopeful things get better from here.
Liz you are amazing! Thank you for advocating for RV owners with quality issues.
Keep it up!
Thanks so very much!! Feel free to share this video to help grow the channel!
That's the best possible outcome!
Yay!! Buy back. This is so sad. I’d never buy from Blue Compass though. They know nothing about camping or campers 😮
This is a great question, and such an important issue. Thank you for bringing this up!
Glad to hear this. Thanks for sharing, Jerry!
so well stated: "the people who run these dealerships do not share the values of the people that buy their product". Shame on Blue Compass. Shame on Jayco. She really got screwed with a defective camper that was literally covered up at the manufacturer. So glad she was taken care of, or looks like she finally will. 'sucks that it takes publicity of this ridiculousness to get action.
I know it. So frustrating that she had such an ordeal. Thanks for watching
The RV community is full of so many good people. They've helped me out so many times.
thank you, was thinking about buying but now i am holding off. jayco needs to stand by its products. way to go JAYCO NICE JOB
I’m glad they did, but a little too little too late!!
Liz is a warrior goddess.....Fighting for us
I feel so bad for these folks on this channel, I wouldn't buy any RV now regardless of brand
How can you feel bad for this one? She was going to do the same to someone else by wanting to sell it on consignment she is just as bad as the companies .
@@Majabur89 AFTER if had been repaired!
Another great video! I wish there was another you or a team of you who did normal vehicles and all their problems and shotty craftsmanship, and or all the problems with the emissions systems and other things, the everyday people don’t deserve that for their hard earned money.
Yep, it's a wild world out there! Thanks for watching.
Liz, you are simply, “Amazing”
Aww, thank you!
Also dealers need to be held accountable for Routinely inspecting & maintaining units on their lots!!!!!
Thank you for what you do, you're the best!
I know there's good people in those factories and those dealerships. I don't think they like how it's going for customers either.
Excellent work Liz!
Thank you! 😊
You are an RV angel Liz..
Thank you 😊
Thanks for sharing Liz!!
Glad to see they did right in the end.
jayco was like we screwed up this trailer
lets pawn it off to lue compass and let them deal with it
Great job Liz!
Probably Didn't Inspect! Ha!
So glad to hear this Robert, thanks so much for your comment!
Better yet, hire your own expert RV Inspector. Take your time. 🙂
If you're handy I'd buy 2015 to 2018 used...I wouldn't buy any of this pandemic rv's
There's a lot of good manufacturers out there, but it does take some research and diligence; and a good inspection!
Do NOT spend ANY of your retirement money on this junk.
I've owned new Winnebago and Forest river campers, dealt with 5 different dealerships getting repairs and it's never a good experience.
And I would like to say you did another distressed buyer a huge service in getting their RV bought back and hope you were suitably rewarded for your time and efforts!
RV companies appear to have the policy they once they have your money, you have their shoddy work.
Agreed, I will never deal with Blue Compass again. They have been a joke.
I've been hearing a lot of bad things about them, unfortunately. Thanks for watching, Randi
Blue Compass tried the hard sell on an Airstream on me. I walked and never looked back. Their lack of professionalism was all it took for me to walk.
I'm sorry to hear that's been your experience as well.
GREAT JOB LIZ!! another win, i love what your doing for these rv buyers out there! Also, how has your back healed up?
You are doing great work!!
Thank you, Larry, it's a good feeling. Feel free to share this video to help get the word out.
Liz, that is so you…Rv Angel !
😊
Oh my gosh! I bet you were nodding your head while watching this video. So glad you are on the home stretch with this. Thanks for watching
Good luck getting that check you’ll probably have better luck at the casino
first off great job Liz. always good to see you helping folks out. that said I used to want to get a rig similar to this for retirement adventures but I'm not so sure after watching videos like this. add to that the lack of consumer protections and it's a very hard sell now. a real shame the industry is eating itself alive. 'lighting $25,000 on fire' indeed.
Thanks liz you do do much for your fellow RVers❤
After 50 years of having owned 6 travel trailers, I am disgusted with manufacturers goal of profit first while knowingly using substandard manufactured parts and promoting false dealership sales tactics. Just like the shady automobile market, anything goes in order to get a sale and of course they can always play ping pong between themselves and the dealer as to who is going to take the blame. My own opinion is that most of these current manufacturers will be out of business within a couple of years.
I really hope they turn it around. There's nothing like living on your wheels. But what's happening now isn't worth it.
We live in Houston, Texas
On Blue Compass and jayco are the 2 places we were looking at. Not any more
Thank you again
I bought a consigned R-Pod 192 from Blue Compass in Redmond, OR and would NEVER, EVER, EVER buy anything from them again.
Oh my Jayco at least they did the right thing
I am grateful they stepped up and made it right in the end. Thanks for watching
