@@taylorcantrell5660 you were correct, he does live in north CA. But he might as well live in a different state cause CA is pretty big (long, I guess? lol)
@@jlhanlon1980 I've seen her without makeup within the last 3 years and she doesn't look much different TBH. But if you think that's all there is to it, then look up the Talkville episode with Lucy, the actress that plays her is younger than Kristin but looks a little older than her now. But hey, I understand you're skeptical, so just wait another 3 more years, when she still looks the exact same you can come back to me and tell me I'm right lol.
The fact that Tom can talk so much trash about this episode but can’t in his hart of hart give it a bad score just shows how Clark-like he really is, they definitely cast the right guy to play Superman.
That's because THIS show treated Clark Lent like HE was the real personality, not the disguise of Superman. Superman/Kal-El is always something/someone that is suppressed until the very end (of the series).
@@TalkVillePodcast Tom Welling playing a lead role possibly a duel role of Sheriff/Mayor in a revived Jericho series set 12 years later... And maybe Kirsten as old flame stuck in another part of the US sheriff/Mayor Cole, Jake, Dale, Hawkins are on the road to get her when a new set of Nukes(10) go off that belonged to Hawkins gf(she set them to go off years later but they failed and go off 2 late) to cause a new power shift aka Plan B.
Man I hope you can bring Kristin on more than a few times, she brings a lot to the show and she was such a big character for these seasons! Would be great if you all came into Michael’s studio for a full episode! Thanks for another great episode of Talkville!!
Exactly! I really wish she was on Talkville more often. Kristin was the lead of the show with Tom and Michael so anytime she's on the pod she brings a lot to the convo. Not to mention that these 3 have a great and fun dynamic together. Also the female perspective is missing and needed on the podcast.
This!! I really wish Kristin was on the podcast more often. Her insights, bts stories and perspective add a lot to the convo. She was the lead actress so she should definitely be on the podcast more than once a season. Also Tom, Kristin and Michael have such a great dynamic together!
I can't wait for S6E09 "Subterranean" which I consider the worst. Also, Michael's reaction to season 8 as a whole, especially while they build up to an epic showdown in the finale...and never show it.
@Thunderflare99 yeah i actually had to rewind the fight w Doomsday, twice, cuz I kept thinking I was missing it and then i realized. oh, i didn't miss it - they didn't show it! 🤦♀️
Hearing James Marsters, who played one of the most popular vampires of all time say: "There's no such thing as vampires." made this ep worth it all on its own. 😂
Yo si tengo un gusto culposo por éste episodio, Kristin se veía hermosa, ver a Clark y Chloe disfrazados genial, la estrella invitada uff... Y las escenas Clana lo valieron todo ❤
Kristin did such a great job as Vampire Lana. Came off very intimidating especially when she showed her fangs. Was a nice touch when she gained Clark's powers by drinking his blood. Loved her standing up to Buffy. Awesome that Kristin got to come on again. A treat to hear her insights.😀😀😀🙏🙏🙏🙏
@nickhydier1201 if not for Kristin I would still be anti-Lana lol ... while I saw how much she grew as a performer from S1-4, this ep didn't do her any favors. but I think it was the same director as Spell ? (according to the goggle ep guide lol) and for both eps, she was directed to perform over-the-top, which is the WORST decision when doing any horror themed storyline (or comedy for that matter). it completely comes off as campy and pulls you out of the story (although w this ep, the bad performances were the LEAST of the issues, and mostly the editor's doing). you can see the contrast in Spell: Kristin and Alison are over-acting so they come off as like the witches from Hocus Pocus, where Erica plays understated and she is the only one of the three who isn't annoying. ...although, I will say she did do a good job w Clark when she's trying to turn him. but, I think that was Kristin not listening to the director and playing it grounded instead of outlandish
@nickhydier1201 yes I agree. Did it so well. I don’t hate any Smallville episode. Naturally there are some I like more than others of course but to say this episode was “crap,” isn’t a word I’d use. It worked somehow in a weird and silly 🤪 way. Carrie Fisher RIP 🪦 was wonderful and if I remember correctly said she was a massive fan of the show. As a Chloe fan I was cheering 📣 when she finally got to the DP. It had been her dream since high school and it’s nice that someone gets to where they want to go. Chloe got there on her own without any help. She’s also compared to earlier seasons supportive of Clark in his relationship with Lana (although still in love with him herself) has put her feelings aside for now and is accepting the fact for now Clark loves Lana but is encouraging him to tell her the truth about him. As she says in a future episode. “Lana will start asking the right questions to the wrong people.” ❤️❤️🌹 Kristin amazing job this episode! I know it wasn’t easy for you but you nailed it! At the time Supernatural started its first season and this episode and episode “Tomb,” coming up in this season felt a lot like Supernatural. Which I have no complaints on. Half a rose 🌹 this episode is for me. I was 8 when it aired and it kinda scared me lol 😂 This episode also for the “Clana,” fans was great because it kept them wondering “will they/won’t they,?” And how much does Lana remember?
@@asyouwish3636Yes, I agree Kristin herself really is what sold this episode, as her growth as an actor. Yes I believe also the director for Spell Jeannot Swarzc was the same for this one as well. Also Kristin's beauty if we're being honest is probably what kept many fans from hating the character of Lana.
Probably one of my favorite episodes, it was campy, tongue in cheek, did not take itself seriously whatsoever. All the nods and fan service were worth it.
Buffy and Smallville have more in common than any other shows, two chosen ones surrounded by a small group of friends, high school, college, work life, monster/freak of the week, big bads, leaving at the end of season 2, loosing a parent in season 5, fantasy mental asylum, destinys, many more…
You totally nailed it. Lots of parallels between the two series. I've been rewatching Buffy recently and it certainly seems as though the writers of Smallville drew some inspiration from it.
YEEESSS!! Both they could never have crossovers. Two very different vibes but two equally amazing shows with similaritie and morals. Smallville provides comfort and warmth while Buffy explores the dark and gritty topics.
I was a devoted fan of both shows, loved the comedy within Buffy and the singing episode was even worth watching over and over again. My roommate was a Bible-Thumper and I would have to do his share of cleaning to get him out of the room so I could watch Buffy. Worth it.
great observation about her personality, like I've always had a crush on her from her stunning looks, but I think I actually might have fallen in love with the real Kristin because of her real personality in real life. She is just so charming and smart.
So glad to see Kristin again! She's looking as beautiful as ever ❤❤❤ I think now we know the secret to her keeping her youthful looks. She became a vampire back in 2005 lol.
@alexneff there's something super natural about that woman because it really isn't much of an exaggeration to say she hasn't aged. I honestly don't know of any actress or women in real life I know of that have managed to stay as youthful looking as Kristin after 18 to 20 years has gone by. I mean it really is astounding....
To be honest, these interviews make me like Kristin now more than I liked her during Smallville. she's funny and smart, and surprisingly (or not) even prettier now than she was back then.
YESSS Kristin really adds to the podcast! didn't even kno about Talkville til right after my 1st watch, and at that point I hated Lana. I was disappointed that she was 100% a plot device, it took me several seasons to get over that S1 Canadian accent (which, was in retrospect better than the whispering she does by the end in S7) and then that ridiculous 4-ep arc in S8 was the final nail in the coffin. . . BUT after watching Kristin on her 1st guest appearance in the podcast, and the way she explained Lana - how much her abandonment issues affected her life, how she was always the object of literally everyone's obsession, etc. it really gave me such an appreciation for Lana that now I can re-watch and not be angry at her and even forgive and understand her. And Kristin is such a delight. I've been saying she needs to be a guest host on the podcast!
I wholeheartedly agree! I admit I couldn’t stand Lana from S4 onward, but Kristen seems so far removed from her that it’s hard to equate the two. It really makes me wonder how she felt about some of the decisions made for the character.
@@asyouwish3636 I've always felt that people's criticisms of Lana were over blown. Part of it was because even from the get go I realised that life was hard for her growing up with no parents. but the main reason why I never took issue with her the way many did was because it would be hard for any girl to take the love of their life breaking up with them and not knowing why they're acting weird all the time. People would say it was Lana causing all the drama, but in reality it was Clark causing the drama by acting weird and not telling Lana, the woman he loved the most his secret. Had he told her sooner than what he did Lana would have at least understood what was going on and not been so moody around him all the time, and given him more chances to get back together once he was ready to do so. Lana acted pretty normal given what she went through and the circumstances she was dealing with, and in a way you kind of feel sorry for her because she's a tragic figure of sorts. At least I did anyways. And if you come to understand what she's about like I did, you learn to appreciate all the good qualities about her, like her kindness, loyalty and thoughtfulness. She was also surprising smart as well, despite being naive at times.
@@asyouwish3636 Canadian accent??? The only thing Kristin does is pronounce her D's as T's and that's not a Canadian thing, it's a Kreuk thing. Anywho, not hatin' just don't know what you mean by accent. Only east coasters and Quebecers have accents. The rest of us don't.
As goofy as this episode is, I like it for the non vampire related stuff. I loved Carrie Fisher's guest appearance, and its the introduction of the Daily Planet set!
I love their friendship ❤ kristin is so dang beautiful, shes always been my girl crush and will never get tired staring at her angelic beautiful face ❤❤❤❤ pls more of her ♥️♥️♥️
Her face really is something else, I don't know if I've come across a girl with a more beautiful face than her, maybe 1 or 2 that tie, and that's a BIG MAYBE, but more, not a chance, and trust me, I've looked! At her peak she was beyond a 10, at least in my eyes anyways.
I wish to thank you all, the actors, the writers, the directors, the music composer, the producers, the crew, and all the people involved in the production for letting us dream with Smallville. Comforting, joyful, smiling faces, with action, a bit of philosophy sometimes, and tender and funny moments. Everything is done so cared for and passionate that it seems real! With the work of you all, what you created is amazing magic! It is also really nice to appreciate you all and your guests as lovely persons in these podcasts, where you enjoy and laugh as we do, and also sometimes share deep thoughts and issues of your personal life, which is comforting because they're similar to my and anyone issues, so thank you again. A small note: the various plots do not solve all logical details, they are simple, more fantasy than science fiction; I think this is accepted by the audience because it derives from the world of comics that for space reasons cannot dwell on much details. Furthermore, the fact that it's fantasy-based is good, it enables to create multiple stories, and I think the audience knows and appreciates that. You all take care, lots of luck, lots of love! Greetings from Italy.

It was also a treat to see Carrie Fisher in this one as Pauline Kahn, the current editor >n chief of the Daily Planet. Did well in her scenes with Allison as Chloe.
The part where Michael says 'That sucks' in reference to Kristin not getting the chance to meet any of the big guest stars and her reply is 'Yeh!' ... 😂 29:00
A terrible episode of Smallville means a really fun episode of Talkville. Whoever is editing has been killing it this season in particular, really funny cut aways😂
Its great to see Kristin again!! This episode was something else, but she's always great. Its nice hearing her insight. I also love seeing all of the actors talk together! If the episode is thought of as not cannon to the Smallville timeline with the vampire part, then it could be seen as a fun episode. The actors all did a great job still. Thanks for another fun podcast!
FYI: That was Lana's THIRD kill: She inadvertently pushed a Morgan Edge gang member through a pitchfork in Phoenix, she stabbed Genevieve Teague with the stone in Commencement and she vaporized Buffy with her heat vision in Thirst.
although to be fair, the 1st one was self-defense, Genevieve was killed by Margarette-Isabel, and #3 Lana "wasn't herself" lol so do they really count? 🤔😅
@@asyouwish3636 Technically it's 3 killings, lol. The first one would probably wouldn't land her in any trouble, but as Michael said last year, try telling a court you were possessed by a witch or a vampire.. 🤣
@Costas22 well, technically its 2. she didn't kill Genevieve. that one was not a "she's not herself" example cuz she was completely taken over. we don't say Chloe tried to blow up the prom cuz she was completely taken over. so really, it's a deaths by Lana at this point
@@KingKidGoku32794 Like I said elsewhere, utterly dreadful, but I wouldn't classify it as the worst of the series. And back then I cared about Chloe a lot, so the parts with her and Carrie's characters were nice ways to start and end the episode.
I think this episode was made because they didn't know how to integrate the Daily Planet with Chloe into the series. So they used the characters of Clark, Lana, Lex and Milton Fine and a story to put you to sleep about vampires to justify the fact that Chloe gets an internship at the Daily Planet thanks to this story! And also that Lana and Chloe are roommates again at the University. But personally I liked this episode 🌹🌹 but not for the Vampire side but rather because I liked the fact that it was Chloe who told the story. And also my favorite scene is when Chloe calls Clark on the phone and he arrives in Super Speed and scares Chloe because she is not yet used to his powers 😂 I love their complicity and bond in Season 5. This is by far the best and most touching friendship in the entire series! ❤ Love the podcast and love you guys from France 🇨🇵
Guys the reason Lana took astronomy. Lana enrolled in astronomy, a subject she had never considered before, because she witnessed an alien spaceship. Prior to season 5, she had no awareness of life beyond Earth, but after seeing aliens emerge from a spacecraft, she became determined to understand the universe. This experience is what drove her unexpected interest in astronomy. Honestly, I would do the same, any one of us would if we witness an alien ship.
Oh, it was good to see Erica and Tom at the Steel City Con! ❤❤ Erica was beyond sweet to my daughter, and she was so nice to me despite my crying a bit and having anxiety issues. Tom was really nice too, even though I only got to talk to him briefly during the photo-op. I have something special for Tom and Erica to see and sign at the Smallville Con - hope I get to talk to both of them about it. Oh, and during the panel, a person asking a question suggested that Erica join the Podcast for the later seasons, and Tom said that it was a good idea. Please make this happen, people!! ☺️😍👍👍
This was not one of Smallville’s best episodes but we managed to get through it encouraged by the banter and giggling from Michael , Tom and Ryan🤩Loved seeing Carrie Fisher and liked the scenes between Lex and Milton Fine🙂It was good to see Kristin and get her take on the episode, especially the lisping😄Thanks for entertaining us🤗
PLEASE invite Kristin Kreuk back for the episode "Lexmas". I want to hear her thoughts working closely with Michael because that was the first glimpse of Lex/Lana as a couple. Also want to see Jon Schneider for the episode "Reckoning"
😂 omfg PRICELESS the look on Michael's face when Tom says .5🌹(lol which, I get, that was my initial rating also) but he's like "after what we just talked about, you're gonna give it a half rose"
the con Kristin mentioned was the WA summer con one. It's okay to say No, especially to the episode like Thirst tbh😅 but still thankful for the hard work and commitment Kristin had put into this!
@YamakaSD From my understanding, the Smallville producers gave her almost no say in the show, and even when she became as assertive as possible with these people from S5 onward they would only bend/ give in slightly. It's part of the reason she left the show in S8. They just wouldn't come to the table enough with her. But yes, she took it like a champ, a real professional.
I’m glad a fan asked the question about the Daily Planet. It was the first introduction of it on the show which was a pretty big deal.. nice to hear them talk about it.
Love this podcast gentlemen! Tuning in from So. Cal USA 🇺🇸 Episode gets a half rose 🌹 for me only because of Carrie Fisher guest starring in it. It wasn’t a bad episode at all just wasn’t a favorite. It would be an episode I could skip and not feel bad about missing. It did feel out of place for Smallville. At the time Supernatural had started its first season and obviously Buffy and Angel were around as well so this episode felt a bit more like it belonged in those other shows IMO. Kristin did say on your Inside Of You podcast she thought this episode was so stupid but she played it off so well. I believe she did her own stunts as well which is always so impressive. Chloe narrating her story I thought was masterful. I did love how she achieved her dream which was working at the Daily Planet which was something she had always wanted since high school. I felt so proud of her when I watched this on the air. She always knew what she wanted and went for it. Clark and Lana floundered a bit. Clark I understood why but it’s nice to watch someone with a clear idea of where they’re going in life. I loved Chloe’s scenes in this episode. Encouraging Clark to move forward in his relationship with Lana. Finding her at the party and trying to talk some sense into Lana was incredible. Chloe calling out for Clark trusting and knowing he will be there was a great moment. Clark looks so concerned when she’s in the hospital. Then Milton Fine shows up and it doesn’t make the audience wonder why he just so happens to make an appearance there. So there’s a few deleted scenes from this episode one of them was Lex in the hospital giving Chloe the antidote. While he waits for her to wake up he says “come on Chloe. You’re not done being a pain in the but now are you?” lol 😂 then she comes to and calls out for Clark like she did in 5x01 “Arrival.” Lex calms her down and she tells him Clark is in danger. After she called out Clark’s name Lex responded with “it’s me more money less hair.” lol 😂 should have kept that scene in. Lex always respected Chloe and admired the fact she was very ambitious and knew what she wanted in life. Chloe was fabulous in this episode. She was always my favorite next to Clark and I hope Bryce and Ryan given her more recognition as the season progresses because the Clark and Lana drama will get messy. Again. This isn’t the first time Lana gains some supernatural strength. In season 7 episode called “Wrath,” she gets Clark’s powers and spirals completely out of control. Like she did in this episode. Lana does have a darkness inside her that is more prominent than in the other 2 ladies IMO. Lana buries a lot of her emotions as well and has lost a lot of people in her life and I also believe is a bit envious of Clark for having 2 solid parents and being a very beloved individual from so many. Lana will admit as the season goes on that she does indeed feel alone even when she was with Clark. So in this episode when she becomes a vampire she lets loose. She’s not possessed by some old witch. These are Lana’s true feelings. Almost like she’s on Red Kryptonite. The scene where Clark comes to visit her at the dorm and she’s hungover was so funny. Lana is not the type of girl to be out all night and drunk. So this was out of context for sure. When she came on to Clark there’s a moment where Tom’s eyes got so big! So funny 😂 she was definitely in control this scene and Clark wasn’t used to Lana acting in that way. It was a big refreshing for Lana to act completely outside her usual attitude. There’s a “bad girl,” in there somewhere. lol 😂 another funny scene was Clark and Chloe showing up in costumes. He was dressed as Zorro. So hot 🥵 lol 😂 Tom what did you think when you saw the costume? lol 😂 I believe the Zorro costume was a homage to Batman movie. Someone said Bruce was watching it. Not sure if this is true. Chloe’s costume I wasn’t a huge fan of but she had to blend in. lol 😂 loved it when she called him “Carlos.” lol 😂😂 I don’t know if it was intentional to have the main villain in this be called Buffy Sanders in paying homage to Buffy the Vampire Slayer. lol 😂 ironic? The scene where Lana crashes at the mansion was so cool and fun to watch. Her biting Clark and gaining his heat vision was incredible. It does make me wonder having rewatched it if she does remember stuff about Clark. She said bits and pieces but leaves me with questions. Loved the scene when Lana killed Buffy using the heat vision thanks to Clark. I thought it was amazing when he rammed the kryptonite needle in her chest. This episode once again for the Clark and Lana fans makes them wonder “will they or won’t they.” As someone who has seen the show all the way through I can tell you Clark and Lana’s relationship really takes a turn for the worse. The ending by where Chloe arrives at her desk at the Daily Planet was amazing. She was always my favorite character on the show and still is next to Clark. She will become a huge confidant for Clark in future episodes and always hoped they would become a couple. She is as constant as the northern star. The brightest light that shines. No matter what. Clark will always be able to count on her. As much as we all loved Pete. He walked away. He couldn’t handle Clark’s secret. Chloe proved she can be trusted and will always stand by Clark no matter how tough things get for him and trust me. Clark will find himself in huge pickles both physical and emotional and Chloe will be there to pull him out of harms way or be the shoulder for him to lean on when he has no one else. Let’s all give Chloe more recognition as I feel she’s been a bit passed over in previous episodes. People ask me why I stuck with the show. It’s because of Clark and Chloe’s relationship. That’s why. Kristen did a fabulous job with this episode. She knew her assignment and carried it off so well. Even if it was a bit silly. 🤪 Great job 👏 Kristen! Love to all reading this from wherever you are.
This episode in particular makes me hope the actors in Riverdale would do a podcast like this. I’m sure they’d have a lot to say that would match Kristen’s frustrations.
I absolutely love the cheesiness of this episode 😂❤ It was a very nice refreshing episode. That’s fine to just put on every once in a while for giggles.
I still love this episode. It's all in the name of fun. I do see it as Halloween vibes for the month. There is always that one spookie season episode besides the Buffy reference. I'm Glade Kristin stood up for herself. We all know the producers like to show off their hottest actors in an eye candy situation. 🎃🧛🏻🕸️
I always thought this was a fun episode and I liked it when Smallville got a chance to try something new and have some fun , I didn’t know that this was a trailblazing moment for Kristen to put her foot down and hold the production to a higher standard. I really appreciate that both Kristen and Tom did that during their time on the show. It’s nice to see that the actors carry their integrity as well as their characters did.
Makes sense Lana is into astronomy because her life changed from the meteor and also alien encounter. Also the start of Clark is awkward s with Lana starts since he has his powers so now so no sexy time 😊
Se fosse assim TDS deveriam gostar de astronomia não foi so a vida dela mudou ,a de todos de Smallville!!! O que ela tem é uma obsessão!isso só vai levar ao fundo do poço e escolhas erradas! Deixando ela danificada e sombria !
Tom brings up the Superman comment on Lucifer, in season 10's "Dominion", Zod asks Clark if he's Cain or Abel and Clark says he didn't kill Zod, implying he's not Cain and when I recently rewatched the show I was thinking to myself 'no that's wrong, Tom played Cain" lol
@talkvillepodcast please..please bring Erica on for next week's iconic episode of Smallville and season 5! (Exposed) we want to hear her take on the episode ❤💙💫💫thanks!!🥺🙌
I think it was on the DVD commentary where Al or Miles said that originally it would be Chloe, who was already at college, joining the sorority... "but no one would believe Chloe would join a sorority." Flash forward 15 years later and... yeahhhh.... Also I could be wrong on this, but I think the Chloe narration was added after the fact when the episode was running short. I once teased Beeman "you all stole the Veronica Mars voiceover" right in front of Kristen Bell, lol. Not all the way through this episode so you might bring it up but in the party scene, the "Frat Cowboy" was Cory Monteith of Glee fame. He did a Supernatural episode around that time too. Sadly, he passed away young while Glee was still on the air.
I really enjoy this episode of Smallville because it's a fun one that gets to explore what if Lana got Clark's powers and it's so Lana heavy and I think she doesn't get a lot of episodes centered around her. At the end she talks about how loved she felt by him and the Clana shipper in me couldn't help but love it. I mean it's not the show's most serious or strongest work but Smallville was always a fun show with silliness behind it.
There was also a Buffy crossover with Supernatural, kind of. The actress that plays Tara in Buffy plays a vegan vamp. She is the leader of Benny's group before his first death. Also, Charisma Carpenter and Masters have an episode where they play a witch couple. I love crossovers.
This episode is great for 2 reasons 1. 🧀 Cheesy stupidity 2. 🧛♀️ Vampires To me it falls under so bad it's good, I can't stop laughing watching this episode and that's why I love it, it's such a mess of nonsense 😆
this was the episode when i realized that Kristin Kreuk was a really good actor. this is one of my favorite episodes, i really don't understand the dislike...at least from a fan perspective
So, a ways back while watching one episode a week, then this show, I went on a binge watch of Smallville that went over a season in a few days or a week or something like that. This episode completely ended that, and now probably 8 months later, you guys have caught back up to me and I'm ready to watch again.. though, had Kristen not been your guest I probably wouldn't have watched your break down of this episode.. she is the best! ❤. You guys are great too
Probably just more sexy scenes. The real life Kristin is actually fairly conservative, so she doesn't like to be put overly sexualized stuff unless it's absolutely necessary and even then she insists it's kept to minimum.
Always great to have the gorgeous Kristin on the show. But since she danced around the issue, here's what she flat out refused to do: The lesbian kiss during the initiation. Al and Miles mention it on the DVD commentary. That's why the camera pans to the shadows making out. In the early/mid 2000s lesbian kisses on tv shows were the rage. A ratings ploy. Kristin herself was forced to do one in season 4 (in Facade) and I am glad she stood her ground this time. And there's nothing wrong with Kristin saying she didn't want to kiss another woman again, so I am not sure why she was evasive there.
I think she was careful w her phrasing (more than specifically evasive) cuz in today's culture, especially how there's more strait actors playing gay characters, there's no comfortable reason for her to admit she didn't wanna do it and it's smart of her just to share how she felt w out going into logistics. cuz most people (today) would say like just be professional who cares? Marc Ruffalo in The Normal Heart didn't have any issues lol and that was WAY more than a few second kiss... not saying she didn't have a right to her feelings 20 yrs ago. she was like 24 yrs old, inexperienced w film-kissing/love scenes (having only a handful of them on Smallville) which you can see when she slobbers all over Clark lol besides this ep being so completely inappropriate on every level I get why she wouldn't have wanted to French-kiss some random actress that she just met, and for the dumbest storyline on the show. (at least the other time it made sense for the storyline, as that's how the antagonist was spreading the chemical) but I also get why it's currently a touchy subject and no one wants to hear opinions that aren't in their echo-chamber so she figures better not risk offending anyone.
In Facade, I could tell how uncomfortable Kristin was having to receive a kiss from Brianna Brown. So it was not at all surprising to me that it cuts away to shadows kissing in this episode. And this is the second time I’ve seen an actor be uncomfortable with kissing on screen. In TV’s Bewitched, you can tell Dick Sergeant (the second Darin Stevens) was uncomfortable having to kiss Elizabeth Montgomery because in real life he was gay. It’s a personal hurdle. That’s what it is, so I don’t blame Kristin not wanting to do that vampire kiss.
@@asyouwish3636 Some actors are fine with it for various reasons. Maybe they are so laid back that they don't mind what sexual encounter they may have and with who or maybe they are secretly bisexual, so it's no big deal for them anyway. Kristin, as far as I know, is neither. She's straight and she's a very reserved person (which I actually draws me to her even more). So asking her to kiss another woman in a role is going put her in a very uncomfortable spot. And at that point she was still very young like you said and this was the 3rd time this was asked of her. Aside from Facade, she also gives another woman a quick peck in Snow White. She was brarely 18 at the time. What gets my nerves, and I've seen it with other actors as well, is this recent tendency not to admit this makes them uncomfortable. Because they don't want to be accused of being anti-gay, which is almost certain to happen in the current climate. And you can tell Kristin is trying to avoid that here. Which is ludicrous after all the fights women have gone through to have a right to say no to being objectified.
@@GeminiWolfstarGaming It's a sensitive issue and I get actors are usually tasked to get out of their comfort zone, but this is different. Being told to engage sexually or merely kiss an actor from the gender you are not attracted to should be approached carefully. The kiss here has an extra layer of discomfort because it's a very aggressive and forced kiss. More so than the one from Facade.
This just cements it: Rosey hates fun. I LOVE this episode. It's screwy and goofy and that's what makes it fun, especially getting to see Kristen step outside the "Lana" box and vamp it up a bit. (Pun entirely unintended.)
He said we're on drugs if we liked it. I seem to remember him having a pain pill addiction and constantly uses THC. Nothing wrong with that but it's extremely hypocritical imo
I re-watched Thirst recently and oh lord I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on this one 😂😂😂 Also yay for getting Kristin on for this episode! Thank you guys for blessing us week after week with this amazing podcast ❤ Happy Talk Ville Wednesday ❤☄️🌽
Thanks for being the best tv show ever!! The Smallville soundtrack is amazing!! I have an entire playlist on Spotify haha Who chose the songs for every episode?? Regards from Brazil ❤
Love how you guys handled this episode!! You can either laugh or cry and your podcast was much more fun than the episode!! I was glad to hear Kristin voice her frustration about the writing for Lana's character. Lana really just wasn't developed well and this was a waste of a talented actress. As for the episode having Carrie Fisher on was a real treat and Chloe is now working at the Daily Planet!! Next week Exposed yay!! Hope you bring Erica on!!
Tom looks like he's having a million times more fun in the studio. KEEP HIM THERE!
How? Trap him there?! 😅
He lives in another state.

@@nate29I thought he lived in a rural part of Northern California. Huh, I wonder why I thought that

@@TalkVillePodcast If the episode was a based in the past in the theme of the movie ` Twins of Evil ` it would of been a better episode... :):)
She's the youngest cast member, she's part Asian, and she's wearing make-up, 🙄
@@jlhanlon1980 I've seen her without makeup within the last 3 years and she doesn't look much different TBH.
I believe it she is.
The fact that Tom can talk so much trash about this episode but can’t in his hart of hart give it a bad score just shows how Clark-like he really is, they definitely cast the right guy to play Superman.
I believe Tom better Clark than others actors in Superman media.
That's because THIS show treated Clark Lent like HE was the real personality, not the disguise of Superman. Superman/Kal-El is always something/someone that is suppressed until the very end (of the series).
OMG! I love when Tom is in the studio, and it is amazing when Kristin is in the podcast, you are the best! Keep it up 💪🏽

Exactly! I really wish she was on Talkville more often. Kristin was the lead of the show with Tom and Michael so anytime she's on the pod she brings a lot to the convo. Yo si tengo un gusto culposo por éste episodio, Kristin se veía hermosa, ver a Clark y Chloe disfrazados genial, la estrella invitada uff... Y las escenas Clana lo valieron todo ❤
That was the best part! 😂 I always loved the references.
I like it how the boys manners improve while Kristin was there.😅
She keeps the children in line....😂
So if they're children does that make her a PED0 since she made out with them.
“Lana will start asking the right questions to the wrong people.” ❤️❤️🌹
Kristin amazing job this episode! I know it wasn’t easy for you but you nailed it!
At the time Supernatural started its first season and this episode and episode “Tomb,” coming up in this season felt a lot like Supernatural. Which I have no complaints on.
Half a rose 🌹 this episode is for me. I was 8 when it aired and it kinda scared me lol 😂
This episode also for the “Clana,” fans was great because it kept them wondering “will they/won’t they,?” And how much does Lana remember?
@@asyouwish3636Yes, I agree Kristin herself really is what sold this episode, as her growth as an actor. Yes I believe also the director for Spell Jeannot Swarzc was the same for this one as well. Also Kristin's beauty if we're being honest is probably what kept many fans from hating the character of Lana.
@@nickhydier1201they said the director for this episode was Paul Shapiro.

Yay! Kristin is back 🤗 I knew they would have her on today! if not for anything else, but to try to save the ep 😂
What beautiful people. They saved my childhood!!!!!! These people are completely legendary!!
Probably one of my favorite episodes, it was campy, tongue in cheek, did not take itself seriously whatsoever. All the nods and fan service were worth it.
Got more viewers than the series finale...😂
Half a rose Tom?!? Michael's face, and the two shot of it was priceless.
He was just messing with him
Buffy and Smallville have more in common than any other shows, two chosen ones surrounded by a small group of friends, high school, college, work life, monster/freak of the week, big bads, leaving at the end of season 2, loosing a parent in season 5, fantasy mental asylum, destinys, many more…
Both aired on the same network.....
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
Worth it.
RIP Carrie Fisher. I wish they brought her back for more episodes.

Always a fun interview when Kristin is on the podcast. Loved it. Great analysis of the episode as always.
I love what Kristin brings to the Talkville episodes! She's just delightful.
@@asyouwish3636 Too busy, she's about to be a lead on her new show.

3rd? I thought she had more than that but I think I wasn't keeping count how you felt about this episode?
Love the podcast and love you guys from France 🇨🇵
Guys the reason Lana took astronomy. Lana enrolled in astronomy, a subject she had never considered before, because she witnessed an alien spaceship. Prior to season 5, she had no awareness of life beyond Earth, but after seeing aliens emerge from a spacecraft, she became determined to understand the universe. This experience is what drove her unexpected interest in astronomy. Honestly, I would do the same, any one of us would if we witness an alien ship.

Cal USA 🇺🇸
Episode gets a half rose 🌹 for me only because of Carrie Fisher guest starring in it.
Chloe’s costume I wasn’t a huge fan of but she had to blend in. lol 😂 loved it when she called him “Carlos.” lol 😂😂
I don’t know if it was intentional to have the main villain in this be called Buffy Sanders in paying homage to Buffy the Vampire Slayer. lol 😂 ironic?

I still love this episode. It's all in the name of fun. I do see it as Halloween vibes for the month. There is always that one spookie season episode besides the Buffy reference. I'm Glade Kristin stood up for herself. We all know the producers like to show off their hottest actors in an eye candy situation. 🎃🧛🏻🕸️

A strange but exciting episode, and Kristin wow is still just as beautiful, I always envy Clark Kent
So awesome to see Tom and Michael in the same room, still as good friends! You guys are still just as epic as always!!
Haven't missed an episode for 2 years! But i can't believe it's been 2 years! 😅❤
Maybe so!! 🤞
@@kristenballinger500 glimmer of hope 😲🥲💫💫❤💙🙌
@@kristenballinger500espero que traga mesmo! Se Kristin participou ,Erica TB deveria pois o episódio foi muito bom !
Smallville “Thirst” 🌹, Talkville episode 🌹.
Ohhhh that was terrible! But, to each their own, I guess
@sino8r499 I thought it was pretty good for a one-off. What was terrible about it?
Yay! As announced, Tom is back in the studio❤️👏❤️! I love you Tom❤️❤️❤️. Thank you Tom❤️, thank you guys, Tom, Michael, Ryan and Kristin❤️❤️❤️❤
This episode is great for 2 reasons
1. 🧀 Cheesy stupidity
2. 🧛♀️ Vampires
To me it falls under so bad it's good, I can't stop laughing watching this episode and that's why I love it, it's such a mess of nonsense 😆
this was the episode when i realized that Kristin Kreuk was a really good actor. this is one of my favorite episodes, i really don't understand the dislike...at least from a fan perspective
Just started watching the sereies after watching the pod and just made it to season 7 love the show and Smallville.
3 more seasons to go
Can't believe Smallville started when i was 3 😂. Glad i get to see the cast here 20 something years after reliving the moments.
The jokes and laughter between everyone is great this episode
That double “yeah” at 26:22 was hysterical! 🤣🤣
Oh man, this episode... Next please! :P
It's great to have Kristin again on Pod
She's always a joy for sure
New Talkville merch: I luv episode "Thirst" with three roses underneath 😆
i started rewatching and my gf saw a glimpse of the pool scene and she cringed so much I had nothing to say to defend the show anymore 😂
Lmao! I had to pretend she was biting his leg 😆 Worst death scene ever
3:58 Michael's reaction to smiling Tom saying _Sex and the City_ was Great. 😅
Kristin yeah !! 🎉🎉🎉 I would have loved to see her on the pod for lexmas though … it is such an iconic episode
❤. You guys are great too
Glad to hear that Kristin did the best she could to stop whatever the heck they were trying to do with this episode.
Probably just more sexy scenes. The real life Kristin is actually fairly conservative, so she doesn't like to be put overly sexualized stuff unless it's absolutely necessary and even then she insists it's kept to minimum.
Love when Tom is in the studio! I'd love to watch an episode of the show with Michael just to hear all of his remarks and gripes throughout it.
Lesbian kisses are still are the rage. :)
Woo-hoo! We love it when Tom is in the studio! Need more of these kinds of episodes. ❤💙
i love this podcast so much man
wait it took me literally 6 mins to realized tom was back in the studio ❤️ love it
Love having Kristin back ❤❤
@@missingyouale She's a Beauty among Beauties, no ifs ands or buts about it.
I love it when Tom is in the studio
This just cements it: Rosey hates fun. I LOVE this episode. It's screwy and goofy and that's what makes it fun, especially getting to see Kristen step outside the "Lana" box and vamp it up a bit. (Pun entirely unintended.)
He said we're on drugs if we liked it. I seem to remember him having a pain pill addiction and constantly uses THC. Nothing wrong with that but it's extremely hypocritical imo
@@sino8r499Omg stop lol Why are you taking that irreverent comment so seriously?
It was soo bad but I liked it. I found it really fun haha
@@wickideazy I appreciated some things about the episode but his perspective is understandable completely
@@wickideazy he wasn’t wrong because it in fact is a bad episode even if it was fun
Hahaha best part of this one was Tom making Micheal make that face 😕 on the ratings!
Love Toms enthusiasm for these types of Episodes, But Rosey's reaction is Chef's kiss
