    Hi,

    Have you got any other active links with discount?

    gret video, ive been thinking about getting one of these... glass as you describe (flat on one side and not the other) is a symptom of "Float Glass", molten glass is "floated" on a molten metal bed, it is very common for windows where perfect flatness doesn't matter.

    What's the difference between the Creality CR-10s and the Creality CR-10 V2? which one is the best?

  • @tomdiaz4242

    I did the stepper dampener upgrade, can't even hear it in the next room honestly and it was fairly easy to install, took about 30 minutes.

    I could not get my CR10 layers to fuse. Reduced cooling, raised nozzle temp, went to basic white pla, nothing worked. I got my infrared thermometer out....Bed temp 136F, barely short of 60C setting. Nozzle temp 95F, way short of the 210C setting.(410F). It came this way, NEW. Sent it back. Thank goodness for Amazon. I cannot believe the lack of quality control in these things...Previous one failed day2, same maker. Third one on order. I hope they don’t assemble space shuttles too.

    • @TheHotEndChannel
      @TheHotEndChannel  4 года назад

      Unable fuse layers would be your filament choice and print settings not the printer.

    I've been really enjoying these videos, very informative! I'm about to buy my first 3D printer and still deciding whether to get the CR-10s or the Folger Tech FT-5 R2. I like that the CR-10 works basicly out of the box but the FT-5 R2 has been updated with the 24v heat bed etc, and looks easier to enclose. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

    So, compared to this, the Tevo Black Widow has a direct extruder (can print soft filament?), a more powerful heated bed, and a finer (claimed) layer resolution. Does that make the CR-10S a less versatile printer than the Black Widow? Or are those features worthless due to other problems? Cheers

    • @themancave5093
      @themancave5093 6 лет назад

      The Tevo is a great printer - now. It was not always the case. As for the direct extruder for flex - I have been printing for a couple of years now and I think I have used flex maybe 3 times. The bed is certainly a plus for the Tevo.

    Thank you for reviewing the CR-10S. I am considering this as my next printer. Have you tried printing ABS with the CR-10S yet?

    • @cybernetix86
      @cybernetix86 6 лет назад +1

      the bed is slow to heat up and the non enclosed design is probably not the best thing to print ABS. However, if you fit an enclosure and manage to fix the bed, it could be a great printer for ABS ...just don't ask me how to fix it :)

      Depends what resolution you print, you can also get smaller nozzles for more detail - I personally like the tevo flash more with bed levelling bit.ly/2CUN9Ll is our link direct from tevo if you wish to support the channel (costs you nothing)

  • @tomherd4179

    New to this and have not bought a printer yet. I figure I would be using more ABS (guess that is the stronger stuff) making some fixtures for my home garage machine shop. From what Y-Tube shows this requires higher heat on the bead, so do you think the CR-10S can handle that? I also have been looking into the Tevo Tornado, and Anycubic i3 Mega if you have any opinions about those? I will add I have no problems with assembly from scratch. I did just subscribe to you channel; good video Thanks :-D
    I wish Y-Tubers would show more functional/technical demonstrations not just "toy things". I have yet to see/or find a video showing any internal threads, even larger ones, as an example.
    Lastly -- when I was a lot, .... lot younger during my life I had a two BSA Victors, a Triumph 650 Bonneville and an (Aerial Square 4 that I never could get running).

    You guys did an unboxing and first print 3 months ago on the Tevo Tornado but haven't heard anything since. I watched this, thinking that you'd talk about a comparison to the Tornado. The CR10S is a direct competitor to the Tornado, you have a Tornado, and not a peep on comparison.

    Thanks for the video John. Could you please clear up whether there is a difference between the US and the EU version other than the supplied cord, and that either are safe to use in Australia with a local converter.

      G'day Benn,
      the cord is the only difference, and maybe the voltage selector on the power supply - make sure it is set to 230v not 110v. The cords are standard so any cord from most computers will fit.

    hi there thanks for the video review I have subscribed .... my cr10s arrives here tomorrow can you tell me have they done mods on this machine that people normally do on the cr10 as soon as they get them e.g. item cooling duct update and bed leveling wheels . I think I read somewhere the bed cable strain device was fitted to the "S" versionI have already been out and had a 6mm mirror and a normal bit of 6mm glass cut to try out either, in expectation of the glass that is sent with it to be substandard, as everybody reports the glass bed problem thanks paul

    Hello John,
    I could really use your help!!!
    Would you please reply to my comment. I've posted this same comment, on several 3d reviewers, on their youtube page, and none have responded. I'd like to make a decision, in the next 2 days. I wonder, if you think a CR10s is a good choice to print a quality working prototype. I need the prototype to show people that my 3d printed machine works. I'm in hopes that the CR10s is capable of turning out a quality prototype using PLA.
    How does the CR10s quality compare to an Ultimaker printer? I'm planning on getting an Ultimaker S5 at a later date.
    Any and all help will be appreciated!
    Thanks ,
    Gary

    I got my CR10 a few days ago, i found the aluminum platter that the glass sits on was itself very slightly bowed in the middle, i tried the mirror tiles, but the bull-clips cause them to bow with it also. I spent about 10 minutes messing around with some paper strips and the original glass, and with one wide strip and one narrow strip running down the middle of the platter i was able to get the bed perfectly level and print a nice iris box.

    • @zanpekosak2383

      The Hot End - 3D Printing & Technology:
      After all the standard baseline models have been printed, reviewed and compared with other machines which are very important of course because I need that info if I am to make an informed choice.
      I would also like to see more of the reviewer's everyday work. In this way, I can get a better idea of the usefulness of a 3D Printer as it relates to my needs.
      Also, in your opinion, can printers like the CR-10S be useful as an adjunct to the average projects that garage woodworking and home handyman do?
      I realise this is a bit vague but I'm hoping you have a handyman set-up so that you can judge whether or not there is a place for a 3D printer.
      To condense all the above. Is a CR-10S printer in a practical sense useful or is it more for a 3D printer hobbyist who enjoys the machine more for what it is rather than what it produces.

      The reviewers use a mostly standard set of prints so you can compare results easily. But for someone like myself I make useful crap all the time on the printers at my school. Headphone stands, phone stands, knife holders, drone/rc car parts. If you know how to use 3d modeling software you can print literally anything you want, provide it fits in the printing area. Then any time you want something you can just model it and print it for far cheaper than anything you can find in the store.

    • @MrStringybark
      @MrStringybark 6 лет назад

      The Hot End PLUS:
      It appears that what you're printing is not that important to you as much as how accurate the result is or have I misinterpreted you?
      That's fine if that is your goal. What is of importance to me are reviewers of 3D printers the same as you in what they strive for or are they also interested in printing objects that are useful to their profession or hobby or just everyday items. If you feel at this moment that 3d printers in this class are just not up to the job of forefilling those goals that would be good to know as part of the review.

      As a manufacturing engineer at Lockheed Martin I use 3d printing all the time for manufacturing aids (jigs, fixtures, mockups, etc) that help the technicians complete their tasks. It improves efficiency, makes complex tasks easier and saves my department thousands of dollars in machining costs.
