First time here. That's really awesome that y'all custom design fuel systems so everyone can have the best performance and most fun. Thanks so much, that kind of service is unheard of. Take care, be safe, and have fun regardless.
It's not unherd of my guy if you where in my area I would meet with you and give you options when building you a solid custom fuel sytem and I mean anyway you want guy
Preach it Doug! I’m a industrial pump mechanic in the gas and oil field, we always preach about the suction side if a pump needs to be up to double the size of discharge. Fluid needs to be waiting to be pumped. I’ll be doing this on my build for sure.
For the people that do not understand dash numbers , dash numbers are in sixteenths . #4 - 4/16 - 1/4 “ #6 - 6/16 - 3/8” #8 - 8/16 - 1/2” #10 - 10/16 - 5/8” #12 - 12/16 - 3/4” These numbers relate to fittings and inside hose diameters .
Standard fuel line 3/8 (-6an) have supported over 1000 wheel horsepower in many builds. Its all about how much your pump can put out, and having minimal 90s fittings in your setup. You do not need a -10an on a auxiliary fuel pump that wont even support up to 1000 wheel horsepower. It would be like throwing a hotdog down a huge empty hallway. I would only use a -8an if anything for that pump. Just thinking about all the special fittings you would need to purchase to increase or decrease fitting sizes sounds expensive and also limits your pump flow. Less fittings the better. Just run more line, and make sure it's straight.
Thanks. Cuz I'm getting ready to redo the fuel system in my car. You guys will definitely be getting a call from me. If your good enough for Cleetus and Fasterproms well John Doc ( can't wait for you to give him a gapping he will never forget ) then your more then good enough for my car....
I would love a video or series on how to go about building a street car that keeps the streetability and is easy.. easy'ish on gas if you keep your foot out of it but will have enough power to have a blast in.. take to the track sometimes and not be embarrassed. The catch is.. on a VERY limited budget and preferably N/A. Update: oh and not having access to a good dyno or tuner in the area.
I know it’s a old video, but just now getting around to building my fuel system. You said run a size up on feed then out, if I run a 12 out and a 16 in, would the pump be running harder to supply the 12 line on WOT? I’m thinking what I want to do is 16 to pump 12 to 10 y to rails then 10s to regulator then 16 back for return. Would this be a suitable setup?
I use a -12 supply into my A1000 with a -8 supply to the regulator, dual -8 to the carb bowls and -8 return. Pump is barely audible and draws very little amps as its never blown the 10amp fuse in 13-14yrs its been running
Is there any issue attaching the correct sized filters directly to the pump using the correct size MagnaFuel coupler and then feeding the inlet of the pre-filter with -12 ?
Does this line size also apply to the 4303 when it's used as an in tank submersible setup? My 4303 is installed inside my custom tank with a -10 line to the inlet and then -10 out of the pump to the Yblock.
I have a stock fuel sending unit on my 84 firebird. I picked up 2 inline pumps that I want to run for my fuel system. For the HP I want (will be running at 6 to 700hp but want it ready for 1000) I need to run a 5/8 line. Should I have 2 separate lines to both pumps and then T into 1, or can I have it split as it comes out of the tank (meaning 1 feed at stock size into -10 fitting into 2 pumps and then to the front) My only concern with running 1 feed from tank and splitting before 2 pumps, is that one tank may suck harder then the other and eventually lead to failure.
breaker breaker i wanted to get the most out of my pump so i welded on a 3 inch pipe i think thats like a -48 or something--- mannnnn ohhh mannn i got horsepower for days come back.
Texas speed 427 Stroker I bought a Aeromotive A1000 what size Stainless steel Harb Line coming from the Tank in to the pump to my Fast tbi smart injection, and then my return line ,need to know ,Gan N/A in my Porsche 914 ,Street Car ,and do you sell the Hard Stainless steel Line, Motors out and the Machine Shop so wanna nail it now 👍 Help

I like the idea of a fuel system designer, I’ll definitely be using that in the near future.
First time here. Garrett said to check you guys out.
I like tech tip Tuesday
NOW I have to check out your website for my street race needs as well.
Love the tech tip Tuesdays especially when you did the beadlocks filters nice too
Much needed and accurate information is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Damn. I just ordered a bunch of fittings and line
Great info Doug. Motion Race Works for the Win

Do you have a video on the aeromotive brushless speed controller?

May I ask what style fitting was used to joint the pump and post filter?
So explain how at X pressure post pump having a -12 line and a -10 filter that the larger line actually flows -12 amount of fuel through a -10 hole?
Is there any issue attaching the correct sized filters directly to the pump using the correct size MagnaFuel coupler and then feeding the inlet of the pre-filter with -12 ?
Doug does this apply to Internal Pumps? Running duel 525 Walboro Hellcat Pumps -10 send -8 Return on a 06 GTO.
Does this line size also apply to the 4303 when it's used as an in tank submersible setup? My 4303 is installed inside my custom tank with a -10 line to the inlet and then -10 out of the pump to the Yblock.
Just asked a similar question you asked. You asked this question a year ago with no answer that means I'm not going to find out either lol
How long is that $25 deposit good for in case the price isn’t in the budget at the time?

When will the freedom hats be shipping out?
Just looked up your name. Somehow your order wasn’t processed in our prompt. We will get this shipped today. Sorry for the delay!
No problem! Just making sure I wasn’t missing something 😆. Love the content! Keep it up! Thanks
Does that rule apply to e85 and M1?
Jamessr23 yep
