@@ashketchum7793 when you open the game before pressing play there is a setting button on top change the engine setting to off and bingo
this fangame does better at feeling authentic and complete than any other imo; the original music, the fact that every fakemon (which are some of the best fakemon I've seen) has an animated sprite and official-style art, the portraits, and the difficulty balance are all on point. it's a real treat
The game has been 5 years in development, these guys outdid game freak by a mile, showing care for a work and fans like game freak never did
I will try this because it seems to be another masterpiece like insurgence or uranium

@@michelecastellotti9172 I disagree, for a fakemon it was incredible but lacks when compared to Pokemon. It seemed to primarily focus on solving issues that pokemon has which was great but in design seemed very uninspired. It's hard to beat Pokemon in design since their world, lore, and pokemon designs are the main focus and their talent but even without that the pokemon, character, and world just were not well designed but the games were well developed. It is incredible for a fan game but still is not close to being as good in design.

Let me tell you something nice. The game has been in development since 2015. This means...they did not take inspiration from ultra beasts. WEEDle and game freak came up with the same idea!
It also combines the idea of regional variants to boot.
I think this could be a great thought if it was provable, but you also have to realize that in development doesn't mean complete. The game was only released relatively recently and Sun/Moon would've come out a year into the games development. This definitely means that there could've been some inspiration, as the game was still in it's early stages of development and it'd almost be impossible to tell which is true. I really hope that these were completely original thoughts though!
@@The_Mang they made videos showing their concepts since the start of the development and they released 2 beta, one that is a remake of the 2nd movie and another that is only the first part of the gameplay, they even made a video on how gamefreak "copyed" them, they were just joking about the fact that they got the same ideas
@@The_Mang as someone who followed the game development from almost the very start i can guarantee you that the idea was completely original, in the sense that it wasn’t inspired by game freak itself. People have been speculating about old pokémon with different typings and design for a while
@@faberquidam I never really thought of it like that, but to be honest, you're absolutely right. Delta pokemon have been a thing in the card game for a long time and I didn't even think about the fact that regional variants are just another way of achieving that same effect, I've always seen them as their own standalone mons even thought when it comes down to it they are just retyped old pokemon.
I think the reason Shyleon is genderless is because it hides itself behind a mask so you can't tell. Literally a shy guy and I love it.

That's what the mask it, that's what the point of the mask is.
quick lil tip: if you see a trash can with actual trash in it (papers etc) there will be an item in it, otherwise the trash can is empty.
This tip also works in real life!

Hey, after pointing out that the father was Silver, just with a play on his name, I looked at the mother named Clover that looked familiar, searched through bulbapedia and she looks like Leaf from FRLG.
And then he convinced his 5 year child to steal an unattended pokemon in pokeball, just like old times.

Hey man you said you don't usually play fan-made games because they just don't feel like Pokemon to you but to me this looks exactly like Pokemon the way I remember it. I went from playing silver to playing x and y, and the change was absolutely HUGE.
And I'm probably just being a typical millennial but the format of silver to me was much more enjoyable than the 3-D style for me and because of that after only seven minutes it looks great to me. Unless of course I'm so out of touch with the current formula that it doesn't feel her look like Pokemon to what you were used to, which I have no idea about

I picked Shyleon because it's a baby *WHO MUST BE PROTECTED AT ALL COSTS* - I really like the variation in pokemon designs this game has and how they look on the Gen 5 motor with the moving 2D sprites, it really shows the WEEDle team has put a lot of effort into each design and doing something different with each one of them, however some of them are IMO a bit too busy and detailed for my taste but I can still see why they look the way they do - this is a really high quality fan game

I understand the preference of something that looks more like pokemon tho my preference is to play something that doesn't look like another gen 3 rehash so I really appreciate games like this that have custom art. Xenoverse in particular has a lot of well made art like the maps and such. The custom UI also looks nice. I'm not a huge fan of the art style of characters but not to say it's bad quality. Move animations are usually lacking in fangames so you do have a point there but idk if that should be a deterrent. If a fangame is using EBS(elite battle system) then animations are better (which this one is).

Games like these are what inspired me to want to make a Pokémon fan game, just the feel of making a region that feels real and looks so beautiful, it’s inspirational

From what i've seen of this fan-game, it's got a lotta cool things and also some busted as hell forms of pokemon. I should probably install this myself at some point.

Water dragon would be the most diverse in defenses and attacks it would be the most ideal starter to start with
CHECK TRASH CANS!! they actually put items in a lot of them in this game. im glad you are covering this its easily the best fan game ive played im actually on my second playthrough now wich i started immediately after i beat the first. you are wrong in thinking there will be a lot of water types to choose from they took into account that theres a lot of water types there are like 3 new ones, 1 is an x species and 1 you dont get until post game, the other doesnt evolve and ssince its an electric type it competes with a few other more interesting mons. the shiny rate is increased and you can get hidden abilities rarely in the wild (i got a shiny hidden ability beefle that was the star of my team cause its final form gets huge power with a base atk of 134) you got the second best yemin its hidden ability is guts but when it evolves its gets pure power. yours will keep technichian and it has a good moveset for that ability. there is literally only 1 complaint i have about this game and it is the move animations. they are pretty much all the same. like each type has 1 or 2 animations for every move. this is literally the only pokemon game fanmade or otherwise that i can play with the sound on. also when you get to the evil teams female commander her theme is AMAZING i sat and listened to it for a solid 10 mins before i actually fought her. enjoy i know youll love this game

So, imagine if someone decides to make a full 3D pokemon fan game and burn it onto a modded switch cartridge. That would legit be incredible. Nintendo should allow fan games of a special quality to be allowed on the switch, so long as they get a large cut of the sales. Like, 90%.
