I like the fact that you made rook die in ice, the same way eliminated contestants are also frozen in ice. Eliminating the plot hole of “why do the eliminated contestants and rook go to the same place” the routes taken to go there were the same. Genius.

This is the most ingenious plotline of any Object Show ever, it wasn't even in your face, it was something you needed to look into. It's nice to have a show with lore, Unusual Battle is the only other show i can think of that has lore. A well crafted enetrtaining plotline.

You don’t know how much I loved this video. Lore in Object Shows is really scarce so this really entertained me!
The drawings were amazing, and I actually really loved the hidden story that was ironically right in front of us the whole time. Especially with Pinecone.

I'm personally not a fan of object shows with deep lore (thanks to Inanimate Insanity Season 2), but this one is good enough for my likings. Kinda missed seeing the standard object show aesthetic.

i was highly interested in Rook's backstory ever since i binge-watched the show for the first time, it's good to have his story cleared out! it's always cool to see this kind of things going on object shows.
Wow! This is probably the most in depth and most foreshadow-ment in any object show! The fact that this was planned from the beginning is truly amazing!

SO good! It definitely explains everything!
I might add to the lore though (even though I'm 9 months late lmao), the host in episode 2 mentions how BOTO does the watermelon challenge "every year", meaning BOTO has been a show held every year. BOTO started in the medieval times and was held every year, and Rook's game was the game to stop medieval BOTO for years due to the incident. Centuries later Controlley found out about the games and, rather than starting to look for Rook in the modern BOTO we saw, he started looking for Rook in the last 10-15 years by trying to retrace history through starting the modern-version of BOTO about 10-15 years ago, and the BOTO we all saw and love was the last season ever due to the fact that Rook was finally found during that season with the help of Hot Dog. It would make sense why Shieldy/Shelly's chain of events were near parallel to Rook's game; the year Rook was finally found was the year the curse occurred; causing events to happen just like Rook's game, whilst the other years of modern BOTO just went normally; because Rook hadn't been found yet.
But ultimately, this is just a BOTO theory to add to the lore. The lore by itself is amazing, but it is fascinating to think about the lore and BOTO's history.

After watching that video, you kind of gave me an explanation of Rook.
So, in medieval times, it was the Brawl of the Objects finale, and Rook and his opponent were about to fight to win. Eventually, one died and the other disappeared, having no win at the end. When Controlly found out about the legend, he made his own show Brawl of the Objects, the reason he made the show is because he was greedy and wanted to rediscover Rook to get fame, and money! Controlly made his own BOTO find out about the disappearance of Rook, and Hot Dog helped Controlly about it. So, in BOTO, Controlly SCAMMED the contestants in episode 1, and at the bottom of the board he showed, it had a little writing at the bottom, which basically was the exact same things that Shelly felt in the BOTO finale and when Rook's opponent did. Rook got frozen because Controlly tossed Rook to a freezer. And when Hot Dog opened the freezer in episode 11, he pretended that he didn't notice him. So, you could see the mysterious calls he did in Episode 12, and he mentioned money.
When episode 12 occurred, in Dream World, when Scissors mentioned Brawl of the Objects, Rook remembered everything. He basically thought he won. When the finale ended, Controlly got the money and yeah, that's it. If you want to know how to do this in steps, I can show you.
1. Rook and his opponent race in the medieval BOTO.
2. The opponent dies while Rook disappears, or just went to a river and drowned.
3. Controlly finds out about the legend and builds his own BOTO, with help from Hot Dog.
4. Controlly puts Rook into a freezer so at the end of BOTO, he could represent what he discovered.
5. Controlly represents the board he made in Episode 1.
6. In Episode 11, Rook was shown in the freezer, opened by Hot Dog.
6. In Episode 12, Scissors mentions BOTO, making Rook remember everything, and the mysterious phone call by Controlly occured.
7. Episode 13, in the finale, Shieldy and Shelly both were doing the exact things the medieval BOTO was.
8. Controlly gets all the money and thought his career would grow.
The explanation is sort of complicated, but we could find out later on.
WOW, there were a lot more references than I thought. Everything makes sense now! Great job!
I also like to imagine that the medieval competition that Rook and his opponent were in was the very competition that inspired object shows in general, and how the announcer was the first one to discover it and created BFDI, like he took inspiration from the medieval competition

Wow. I haven’t seen this yet. This went super deep and as a person who loves object shows and ive also watched BOTO many times this is a very good video, i don’t know any other object show that has a explanation video this deep. Truly amazing keep up the good work.

Dude, this lore is amazing. You had me second guessing myself throughout the entire thing.
As for plot holes though...how would Controlly manage to swim to the bottom of the lake and retrieve Rook? I'm sure he short-circuited himself in a hot tub at one point, if I'm not mistaken...
Either way, I want to thank you for taking the time to make this, even when you didn't quite have to. This was a great way to end the series!

The way rook got into dream land was that he was frozen in ice,this is a reference to when some of the contestants were eliminated and frozen in those glass human or object in this case,sized containers filled with water.The containers were obuisly meant to freeze them and send them to the land we know dream land(also a reference to Battle for "DREAM ISLAND" Btw)
The only real hole in the story I guess would be the fact that Controlly got Rook out of the lake himself despite getting electrocuted after hopping into the hot tub in epsidoe 3.
But eh, minor thing, and a simple clarification like "he was wearing a diving suit" or "After recovering from his second degree burns caused by the electrocution, he hid the freezer and left" fixes it without issue I'd say.
wow, i was like 10 years old when i first saw this show. theres no way i would have thought this deeply of it. props to the massive and successful undertaking of this deeper storyline
So... Dream World is an afterlife, since Rook IS dead? Some form of purgatory? If that's the case, why are the contestants able to enter Dream World upon being frozen? Do they enter a kind of "semi-dead" state that allows them access to Dream World?
Holy hell. Object shows don't usually go this deep with its lore. I'd say this is probably my #1 favourite Object Show.

am I seriously the only one who cares that this video basically confirms controlly as the villain of BOTO, as he not only decides to revive a competition that has clearly killed people but does it to become rich and host more competitions to become even richer. he might even be eviler than four from BFB because though four sucks people up, blasts them with lasers, and screeches at them, he only does those things in certain scenarios, 2 of which is when the contestant who gets blasted or screeched deserves it, and the other one is when the contestant being sucked up is eliminated. while controlly knowingly puts other people's lives at risk, freezes them alive when eliminated, and is honestly really greedy as he does all this for the money and fame he'll receive afterward. I think controlly's punishment should be getting his batteries removed and thrown into fire because controlly is honestly the evilest object i have ever seen here controlly have a medal for most evil object the world has ever kown.

Was the final five planned from the start, and the "Why I'm Ending BOTO Early" a cover up to all this? Have we been successfully manipulated??? WAS THIS ALL CAREFULLY PLANNED OUT THROUGH ALL FIVE YEARS OF ITS RUNTIME???
This entire lore just made this object show go from very harmless and fun to quite gruesome and dictatorial. People, this is the subreddit r/im14andthisisdeep times five thousand!
*Edit:* I've done some research to figure out when Rook's lore took place, as this happened when the first English settlers landed in Canada. I currently am estimating 1583/1584, when Sir Humphrey Gilbert landed at the site of St. John's and claimed the land for the English crown, where it was then established as a settlement under the Royal Charter of Queen Elizabeth I. I am still skeptic of this date, because it's reported there was no permanent population, and that any plans for it died with Sir Humphrey Gilbert as he was lost at sea during his return to England. Let me know if you have anything to suggest/add. So basically this is based on the original brawl of the objects, He got in the finals, Try and cheated and drowned, He got frozen so he went to the castle, The Opponent Got his brain emploded, So Nobody wins, Then Controlly finds Rook, Puts him in the freezer so he doesn’t melt, Needed money so hired hotdog, And basically Shelly just losing from the start

why would Hotdog still have his people tracker in Episode 13 when there's no reason to use it after Episode 11? They already found Rook after Episode 10 and put him in the Freezer, so why does Hotdog use it after?

As someone who was around when the show was on hiatus(2014) and didn't get to seeing the ending as it came out. WOW. I can only imagine people were confused, seeing as fans were left in the dark for about 3 years, with only a few hints to go by.
I loved how deep you made this show! The level of deep that I can relate to is about the same as me and go deeper! Thank you for making this video. (sorry I am late to talk about this)!
