The speculation is correct. I saw an interview of their’s and they said when they merged the bands, they couldn’t decide which drummer to keep, so they kept them both, thinking it would be a nice homage to the Allman Bros.
Thanks for the info! Love the decision - I’d rather follow my heart and do what’s *right* than take a slightly higher cheque or whatever else may come with only having one drummer. Plus, the 2 have a great vibe together!
TB is the best touring band out there today. This is one of my favorite numbers of theirs. Susan really bangs it out. One of the things I like about them is that each of the 12 members of the band is featured in at least one number somewhere in the show. All 12 are very talented musicians. As other's have noted, Derek is the best slide player on the planet.
Husband and wife band. Susan Tedeschi (Ted-es-key) was a solo blues artist in the mid 90s, and ended up marrying Derek Trucks, who is the nephew of original Allman Brothers drummer, Butch Trucks. Derek is the John Coltrane of guitar players.
One of the best live bands in the world today. And if you think she's good, her husband is one of the best slide players in the world. She is also studied at Berkley,. She is no slouch
Thanks man. Russ might know better but both Susan and Derek had their own bands before they got married so the two drummers might come from the merger of the bands. And don't worry about the delay. The Warning has been dropping a lot of awesome stuff from Pepsi Center lately. Hard to keep up with everything.
It should be illegal for a couple to hog all that talent hahahah. I’m 42 and been seeing Derek since my high school days. He was this good then too. Susan is one of the best show people on the planet
@@Beldvlmnt This wasn't during covid (they had a reduced band size then, this is a full complement), they always do this. I always assumed it was for reasons similar to what you mentioned.
Derek was having fun with this one. Rare smile from Mr. Trucks. Love it!!!
For me, the best part of this performance is the HUGE grins plastered on the musicians faces!!

@@BeldvlmntConsidering it costs a minimum of $250k to book these guys for a show, I'm guessing the checks are fine too.
Midnight In Harlem is my favorite. Love Derek Trucks.
Derek Trucks is nephew of Butch Trucks and Derek played for like 20 yrs in the Allman Bros as the lead slide player after Dickie left....

Derek is the best slide player on the planet, the reincarnation of Duane Allman, one ofhis SGs was given to him by Galadrial Allman
Here's your reminder to do the 2nd one for the person that bought you lots of coffee.

Wow, thanks For this!! Song really heavy hitters in the group - and husband and wife is dope too!

Allman Brothers was a two drummer band, Butch and Jaimoe Johansen, so they're following that pattern.

If I may make a recommendation, you need to see Derek rip it now. Keep on Growing live at the Fox. It’ll 🤯🤯🤯

Haha ya the warning been BLESSING us!! Pumped to watch dany step out as a feat. Singer in your next 🤩
I don't know that detail, but it sounds believable.
The 2 drummer thing comes from Derek and his time with Allman Brothers Band
Do Midnight in Harlem

Nice. I like anything she does. But you should hear Robert Cray and Shemeka Copeland covering this song.
Ted-es-ski Or-fee-um
Plexiglass... It was during COVID. 😷
But in front of the guitar amps? 🤔

Sad to be that damn good and still be the second best guitarist on that stage
She's gotten much betteras a guitarist over the years and can hang pretty well with Derek these days.
