      Umm, there are plenty of players with other very unique serving styles though I agree Mac's did stand out. Federer is less elegant to watch than Mac? I think a young Aggasi was arguably more stylish. Don't get me wrong, I am a big fan of Mcenroe and have read his autobigoraphy, but I think some of those are a bit reaching.

    Underrated point in Novaks career. At least in the USA, Djokovic was a villain, and he let the crowd distract him to the point where he was losing matches because of it. Once he realized that he had to be classy and show his human side to be well liked, he started to DOMINATE.

      In 2008 Andy Roddick took stabs at Novak's medical time outs and joked that Novak must have SARS now. Novak took it personally and aired it in front of the crowd in NY at night after winning and got booed. John McEnroe with him at night was pure PR - yes, Novak does care and he has heart no matter whether you like him or not.

      Being classy in New York, lol. Whatever. You try to be classy when the whole world is against you. Are Americans still that stupid? Gee. What would you like to see Djokovic wearing at the US Open this year? A skirt. Yup, that would be 'classy'. I've never seen a stupider crowd in my life than at the USO. Bunch of drunks. Most of them don't even know what they are watching.
      I guess another Fedtard who thinks that life starts and ends with Fed. Fed had his tantrums when he was younger. Or, do you prefer Nadal picking up his but on the court. Is that classy enough for you?

    Looking back at this i'd have never thought Novak would be where he is today, 14 times grand slam winner, with career slam, having multiple dominant seasons and reigned as number 1 for many years. Going from this joking jester type character imitating players, seemingly not taking the game too seriously. Despite winning a slam by this point, it seemed like he was going to be a one slam wonder for a few years, then 2011 swung by and well the rest is history.....

    • @michaelbarlow6610

      @ Litte Liten2. The only way John McEnroe changed the game of tennis was that through his complaining constantly about bad calls in his matches (and via his deplorable habit of insulting tennis officials during his outbursts of anger on the tennis court) , the major tournaments (especially and primarily Wimbledon) replaced the elderly linespersons they utilized at the AELT&CC (who had poor eyesight) with younger people whose eyesight was much sharper. His constant complaining about line calls in tennis matches led to the creation and adoption of the Hawkeye sensor system for calling lines in tennis tournament matches. But McEnroe did not change the game in the way that it is played on court because nobody before or since McEnroe's time on the men's pro tennis tour plays the way he did.

    • @gladiator7731
      @gladiator7731 5 лет назад

      No my friend that's not the reason. It's because people are bad and when they see someone who is too good for them and has no flaws, they try to find any excuse to hit. The same happened for any sport in history. At the end Djokovic and any "Djokovic" receives from the crowd so much war against him, that he closes himself in his own shell and just look his business quietly to avoid the war from the envy hypocrites.
      Take a look about Federer. At his prime he was the lovable one, he was the god of Tennis. Now after some loses because of the years go by eventually, the people on media, RUclips, etc talk so much shit about him, they even try to question his worthy title as the best Tennis player in history, which he is of course. Now that Djokovic won against him, Djokovic is the hero. But what about when in past Federer was winning against Djokovic? They choose to forget. Because people forget.

    In my opinion Johnny Mac was the Goat he had his issues yet his overall skills were supremely superior

    Mac's still got spring in his step and there's nothing wrong with that serve. A nice serve-and-volley by the old man. I like how he handles himself a lot more, now, than I did when he was at his playing peak. I didn't think he showed true sportsmanship in some of his matches, and I got to where I wouldn't watch McEnroe matches during some of his best years. It reminded me too much of growing up and playing pickup games in the neighborhood. There was always gonna be that one asshole. You liked him more when he was on your side, and you had leverage to talk him out of more of his bullshit as his teammate. Anyway, McEnroe reminded me of that one asshole (in every crowd) who left you with a bad taste in your mouth. I avoid that taste.
    But he's been pretty cool as a former player. Just tells you his truth, honestly, and won't depart from what he believes to be true. He was excoriated for saying that Serena Williams at her peak, was probably in the top-300 players in the world, but not any threat to the top 50 or 100 men in the world. Oh, people HATED his sayin' that. And he flat-out refused to apologize, when he got called out on it. Maybe he's another Richard Dreyfuss, who was a flaming leftie in his youth and grew into what appears to be a pretty thoughtful, libertarian-minded guy, speaking out against censorship and cancel culture of the far left as well as establishment Democrats running legacy media.
