Here we go again...re. Piper's comments on Lloyd-Jones and not listening to him too much (he, MLJ, too serious?) Give me MLJ every day rather than some of the panels who think good preaching is jumping around, making faces &telling jokes. Also, I listen (now, often) to Peter Masters at the...metropolitantabernaclepulpit.org...who is very much, I think, in the mold of a MLJ. He caught my interest when I saw him the 1st time because he was a serious, truly expository preacher. ...as for these men on this panel, I do not know all a lot by watching, but a couple I do & they stand out as entertainers they are. Just commenting, it is not meant nastily...but what I see. Spurgeon, MLJ and R C Sproul I have continually heard and read for 50 years & I appreciate and need what they give as much now as when I did at first hearing or reading.
Thanks to you, I have discovered this wonderful preacher, Peter Masters. I am only ten minutes into the first sermon I ever heard from him (This World is Not Our Place) and I already am appreciating his teaching. So, thank you for taking the time to mention him.

I am (mostly now) old and home bound, thus with full service they even put clearly printed words of hymns so one may sing along, also hear the bible readings and the pastoral prayer. I listen/watch often and if I had means I'd move to London and hopefully be able to attend services there. It is a place (U.K.) I wanted to visit often, such rich spiritual heritage years ago. Last, I see Pastor Masters arranged or has his liturgy very much as MLJ did...they were good friends, Peter at Spurgeons Tabernacle since 1970. I believe they were close for Peter mentions him (when appropriate) ...you are in good hands Friend, I am happy you watch him. Blessings, wl
I will pray and see if perhaps the Lord will grant you the desire of your heart; to let you move to or, at least visit London and attend services under Dr. Master's teaching. I love how he has an authentic, genuine urgency about him with true humility, gentleness, and compassion. He seems to be someone who lives with a continuous awareness of from whence he was saved. I'm sharing his messages on facebook. I will look for the full services. I mostly am able to listen while working or driving so, it's a bit difficult to actually be able to sit and watch without doing something else. May God bless you with an increased awareness of His love for you and His presence within and around you.

Piper’s got too MUCH “emotional breadth”. His own emotions are all over the place when preaching. I don’t trust a grown man whose affect changes violently 3 times in the same sentence.
