- This BMW 135i was brought in to us by a customer who said his engine has seized up due to oil starvation, watch how we pull the engine out to inspect the extent of the damages. Next we are going to carry out a full rebuild on this engine on part 2, stay tuned..

These N55 love seizing. More commonly due to not having baffled sumps. This one is a bit rarer with the whole oil pipe situation. Look forward to seeing the outcome.. had my N55 seize on me but decided to get a Cat B and take the engine and box and just replace rather than rebuild.

I am a dyier but don’t understand how when you take a whole engine apart how do you remember where every thing goes. Also it would be nice to know what this kinda repair would cost.

@@NamzBoost thanks , I read that the N55 in the M135i comes with forged crank( from m235i racing ) and rods ( from f80 m3/m4) from the factory but not so sure if this is true

The oilpan is not fixed for tracking with the m135i, so the engine runs dry in strong corners..
They need a fixed oil pan(witch fied chambers).
Oilpump maybe needs an upgrade to for tracking.

Great video - not withstanding the oil pipe failure, always use quality oil in your engine!
This is why its important to pay attention to what your car is doing. If the driver would have noticed the low oil pressure light/ heard the engine starve of oil and immediately stopped the motor the engine could have been possibly saved
All good. One bit of advice. Try and be more organized. Get trays and labeled areas rather than things on the floor. Just makes it cleaner and perhaps customers will be happier to come

Might want to suggest to the owner ,to fit a sump baffle in there if going down the rebuild route.
At this point geezer might as well use his bare hands. 🤣
What about the crank case bore walls? You may need to rebore the block and fit oversize pistons
It will be going to the engine machine shop to asses what needs doing for sure, from there we can decide what’s next you have a garage yourself or a mechanic definitely sound clued up lol

@@NamzBoost the bore walls must be scored so bad, but yeah an engineering shop will be able to save 90 percent of it, new crank and cams, might be able to machine head for oversize bearings too. They will have their work cut out :-) looking forward to see how this goes 👍

Why did you take the torque converter out of the transmission? much easier to let it stay in transmission so you dont have to recalibrate the transmission
We didn’t need to do any calibration at the end anyway was plug and play

Bro where are u based.. ? I have a zafira gsi and it keeps going into limp mode when in boost. I get a p1106 code can u help me? Pls ive changed map sensor front and rear boost pressure sensor checked all the earth on the loom and still same issue. I put the old map sensor bk and it goes into limp mode alot less now but still does it from time to time.
