IMO Catastrophe is one of the best shows of the last 10 years. Clever, quirky and never strays into conventional sitcom territory.
Rob Delaney is a treasure!!! So soooo funny!! Catastrophe is such a great show!
It's rather sad that they can't have Carrie Fisher in it any more. She was amazing every time she was on screen.

they say they tried to make it not sentimental but in doing so, i would say this show was extremely sentimental because of how real their relationship felt
Catastrophe is one of the funniest shows ever made.
rob is so loud and high energy and sharon just brings this sense of calm and composure

only four seasons...sad. and with short episodes and short seasons its more like a miniseries. just wish I could watch these 2 for a longer series.

Watching this knowing this is what a grieving father painting over life looks like makes this a whole lot different.
I LOVE this show for the same reasons I loved Scrubs: there's no laugh track, because neither series NEEDS a laugh track; the writing is excellent and it's genuinely FUNNY. Imagine that.
Just a heads up about the 'caps'; I'd use italics...but there ain't no italics to use on my keybd. So...yer stuck with caps. For emphasis. Ya know.

Catastrophe is the name of the series.
It must be more awkward for their loved ones that their show for the most part was them in bed together
both of them married unattraktive people. so that was their only chance of ever being in bed with an attractive person^^
5:18 the yoghurt debate convo was first done by Jim Gaffigan on his “Jim Gaffigan Show” a few years ago..and it sounds nearly verbatim.
Probably because every married couple has that exact argument at some point. Arguing that some particular show was the first to put it on TV sounds like the kind of thing that would also be a married couple's argument.
I think you'll find that it was stolen from me and my wife when we had that argument in 1956. [sarcasm]
@T BZ - earlier done by Gaffigan, maybe, but **first** done? Probably not.
I can't deny that there are parts of Catastrophe that are well-written, but I can't get over the lack of diversity and how narrow-minded the characters are. The episode that was transphobic and offensive to sex workers is what tipped it over the edge for me, so I can't support this show any more.
