You should mention the fact that there isn’t many blades available through stihl that suit machines FS131 and under with the 25.4mm arbour or 1 inch in your guys speak. Where as the machines above a FS131 run the 20mm arbour or 7/8 as you say and there is a lot more options available through stihl unless you guys in the us have access to more options then us in Australia. I work for a stihl dealer in NSW Australia.
Hey mate, check out Oregon 3 blade mulching blades on Amazon. They are truly amazing. I've been clearing huge areas of 5m blackberries with one. Had to get it from England. Don't know why we can't get them here. Total gamechanger. Cheers PP
what is the brand of the 14 inch flat blade or do you also carry it for order/shipments outside your area (I'm in MO and just bought a FS240). I think it might be interested in it
Ok, thanks but importantly also one needs to wear protective pants as sharp pieces will hit your legs with these machines. I prefer an old lawn mower with big back wheels to clean many spots.
Great video! I live in the PNW and have a massive black berry cutting project ahead of me. I have a Stihl KM 91R. Would my best bet be the pick up the brush cutter blade attachment and switch to the the shredder blade? Thanks!
@@Carlsmower Thanks for the response! Would the RG-KM be a better choice? I just watched one of your other videos and liked that you said it could edge/flat top as well.
@@Carlsmower Haven’t been able to locate a shredder blade at any of the dealers down here in the Auburn/Tacoma area. Are the ones on Amazon legit? Is this something I could order through you guys and have shipped? Thanks so much
Anyone cutting down a good blackberry producing bush should have their head examined !! LOL !! I had a lady friend that would pick blackberries in a Bikini !! She was tougher than me ! But nothing is tougher than a Stihl !!
I fear Josh is misleading the uneducated outdoor power equipment masses once again. Had you worked the 3 prong brush blade like the shredder it would have produced similar or even better results. With one on my FS 560 it tears scotch broom and briers apart like butter plus you can get close to the ground which the shredder will not.
The blush blade was the most efficient blade. Its drawback was that it scattered the most grass debris on top, second only to the nylon cord.
Like the last one

Our 20 mm options are far less in the US. We have more in the 25.4 size. But I should have mentioned it may vary in your region

Did you end up finding the flat blade? I want one
Great video. Can any of these be used on an FS70?

Very helpful Thanks!

@@dylanhall8 not for blackberries. I have tried it and love the RG-KM but go with a shredder blade. Let me know if you need help getting a blade

The 'FORESTER' blade will cover all of those and take out larger trees.

Left to there own with no intervention, these things will take over your property.
@@Carlsmower I guess when you have almost 400 acres to go and pick them it is a little less noticeable .
Is that your fs 240?
It is our FS240.
How can you put shred blade on fs 240 ?
Blade had 20mm hole in midle but fs240 have 25.4mm.
I put this blade with litle modification on fs235
@@markostefanac I use brush knife.Easy to install
Sell me a Ventrac too much work with the fs240😁😁
Those are sweet machines
It looks like you never cut grass
Never mind bushes or branches
Not a rookie 😊
You did not emphasize what each blade looked like.
The flat blade is made for edging not for cutting grass!!
No that is not an edger blade. The flat blade is 12x2 the edger blades are 8x1
Cuts some real brush

Interesting. I have tried that and have not had that experience. The 3 prong blade costs more money and did not perfect as well in my applications.
Ya swinging it round like a lunatic work smart not hard.
I did attack the job wrong for sure.
i wouldnt want to clean that bush
