This is the kind of heavy damage dealing Ryu SHOULD have done in the previous mvc games.

@@bluewulv i know this is old but when the main reason chars are top tier in this game is mix and neutral(or using a games resources to the fullest like vergil even then he has mix and amazing neutral) it makes sense why a man with no flying no mix and no neutral would be low tier

I think that if they just gave Ryu the same stuff Viper had access to (focus attack, ex especials) it would have been a huge boost to his kit.
But I still think there should be more. A character being basic and balanced doesn't mean he should be boring to play as.
Alpha counters, focus attacks, ex moves, denjin Hadouken to stun the enemies, shakunetsu, make air shinku Tatsu possible for more combo variety and make combos possible after Shin Shoryuken, like in TvC.
Not to mention the SF signature stun mechanic. Or Third Strike's taunt unique effect (could be gauge recovery, atk damage increase, you name it). Other characters have gimmicks borrowed from their games, so why not Ryu?
Also the ability to switch to Ken's or Akuma's moves. Or hado kakusei. Or even Shin Ryu, which is a state achieved when he found balance between the Dark hado and the Power of nothingness (that's comic-only, but in a game where half of the roster comes from comic books kinda makes sense, right?)
I honestly think there's plenty of material to make Ryu badass in Mahvel. He can be basic, but I would love to see him being picked in championships😁

Late replay, but if there's ever a MvC4 I hope Luke gains the "easy Capcom shoto" placing and Ryu gets the more technical stuff while hitting like a truck

Bryan Josue Zetina Juarez Oh right I forgot about dead body glitch. So the idea is that if you have one team member dead you can "tag" him in, leaving you without a character on screen. Of course the game will realize the character you're attempting to tag in is dead so it'll send out the next character as normal
the Dead body glitch is when you can still hit a dead character to continue your combo and stuff...
This is the Kubota glitch.
The best of Ryu is still mediocre by Marvel standards.

It's a glitch. Essentially, if you're down one character, and your opponent does a raw super, you can trick the game into switching out to your dead character, essentially having you avoid all damage. It's tournament legal
