Adrienne mentioning that her mom is still very active was a light bulb moment for me. If her mom has always been just as active to her, it's possible that's what Adrienne learned is necessary for any relationship. I'm not an expert, but it her insistence and inability to see any other option does seem a tad bit like an issue with developmental psych.

No disrespect, and I 💯 agree with you on what you said regarding Adrienne’s obsession with the image of the “wife”. But I have to disagree and say I do think there is a difference between a long term relationship(e.g 5 years, 10 years, 25 years?) and marriage. Obviously not in terms of sex within the two, but the two as a whole in general.

Bint Uthmaan I think that is kinda the point some of us are making tho. People usually respond aggressively when they are projecting or trying to atone for something. It’s kind of like speaking to your “younger” self, or getting the advice or admonishment you wish you had in the past, but you can’t so you speak on other people. The subconscious tends to bleeds onto others. But... thas just my amateur psychoanalysis. I think for people in their “winter years” (mature/senior), asexual or demi-sexual folks, her argument came off as an indictment. Particularly for a show that needs a balance of honesty but reeling it back in. And let’s be honest, it’s day time talk, so you really can’t keep it too real. She could stand to have fallen back sooner. Thas all.

Adrienne mentioning that her mom is still very active was a light bulb moment for me. If her mom has always been just as active to her, it's possible that's what Adrienne learned is necessary for any relationship. I'm not an expert, but it her insistence and inability to see any other option does seem a tad bit like an issue with developmental psych.
Her mother has been married 3 times though. She clearly doesn't have all of the answers on how to have a successful marriage.
I honestly think adrienne was lying because she said growing up she didn't see any intimacy in her mom's marriage growing up. Her mom wasn't into it.

I would love to hear more of Jeannie's explanation about her friends that have other ways of being intimate.
