The mayor of Athens has designated the city as sanctuary because he wants the money attached to being a sanctuary city. Therefore, I don’t think he gave much thought to the safety of the people in his city.

GLJUST LIKE TRUMP IN Georgia how he is treated it need s to.stop.
This event has raised concerns accross the nation and rightly so.
Unfortunately , this may result in undue harassment and possible action against those undeserving of such treatment. The knee jerk behaviour is very understandable , but should not evolve into false acusation type witch hunt actions solely based upon excessive scrutiny of unrelated individuals. Again the concern is justified, but this could get out of hand if parents do not use judgement relatable to the actual facts and reality. There is a small number of individuals nefarious in nature and anyone in proximity should not be painted with this broad stroke of suspicion. Random individuals should not be harassed for the actions of a few sick individuals that crossed the border with a criminal past posessing malicious intent. Protect children at all costs but do not go around finger pointing and creating what if scenarios based upon non existant realities. This over hype will ruin peoples quality of life diminishing everyday enjoyment. This event was caused by a person not allowed in the country and remained by lack of enforcement of existing laws.
This is where the focus should remain, not aimed at any random person within proximity unrelated and uninvolved in this event.
