Tyler got his start with his Red Barn sessions. You really should do the same. Really amazing. This session should go on an album. Serious. It's that good.
@@johnward9146 that's a very interesting story in itself, even back then music brought people together, the only true universal language a shared love and torment in equal measure
I’m not being hyperbolic when I say this: this is one of the most mesmerizing songs I’ve heard in quite a while. The whole album was a joy to listen to, but this song in particular just keeps making its way to my playlists.
The Flood and Coal Shooter are the most heartbreaking songs I've heard. This is real country music! Storytelling with emotion. Not rap beats about drinking. Cole reminds me of Kenny Rogers and George jones.
Dont meant to drop a name on another artists great song. Zach Bryan, as amazing as this gentleman. Less tight jeans cutting off the circulation to his music. Hope we get to see both of these story tellers see the stars.
This brought me to my knees...I have had to end a marriage of thirteen years. I've faced a Federal indictment for her. I've suffered for her. Risked life and farm. I've bled because of her more than once. I reckon we all have our floods.
I’m going through my own “flood” at the moment and Cole captured exactly what that rising water means. Damn son, thank you. It’s the worlds loss if they don’t listen to what you have to tell us all.
@@billferrell7890 That’s such a thoughtful thing to say, I’m quite moved by it, thank you. By the grace of god I was able to watch the waters recede, and sit on the bank and be grateful for them.
@@LiamATL007 Sometimes it is good to know someone cares and sometimes it is good to share burdens. My wife of thirteen years - for whom I walked through hell - lost control and had to be evicted from my farm. It is my flood. But waters recede. We carry on. May God bless us both.
Never would have thought a song about a piece of land would almost bring me to tears. Thats a testament to the heart you are putting in to the song and the performance. Bravo brother I cant wait to hear more.
I inherited this plot of land when mama’s daddy died This little surveyed piece of earth is where I’ve spent my life Rainwater is to cornfields like whiskey is to men Just have enough to keep you standing, too much will do you in These rainclouds settled in, one early winter night The grey of winter dawn is choking out all the sunlight The little sandy river, she’s drowning in her tears With her she’ll take my good dirt and a hundred head of steer The rain keeps on a falling as I cry out to my lord Won’t you spare this land I broke my heart and backbone for Well he don’t give me an answer as the rain keeps coming down I’ll fight this flood to the bitter end or he washes me out For forty days and fouty nights They say noah built the ark and that he rode upon the tide Lord I’ve got no boat and I’ve run out of time Nothing left to live for and the last of my kind The rain keeps on a falling as I cry out to my lord Won’t you spare this land I broke my heart and backbone for Well he don’t give me an answer as the rain keeps coming down I’ll fight this flood to the bitter end or he washes me out Well that muddy waters rising I can barely see the fence Lord it rolls my way like a slow train loaded down with death Son you can have your share if she leaves anything behind Don’t bother draggin the river boy Cause stones all that you’ll find The rain keeps on a falling as I cry out to my lord Won’t you spare this land I broke my heart and backbone for Well he don’t give me an answer as the rain keeps coming down I’ll fight this flood to the bitter end or he washes me out
Lol why thank ya for the lyrics! I'm sure everyone will appreciate them. I knew these lyrics way before any of the internet peeps knew but thats bc Cole is my cousin. But glad you posted!
@@JazzyHarley22 I met him when he played a show with my buddy Austin Dennis. He can sure give you chills with his songs. I like his mentality about everything too.
Brother what you have is a firm grasp on a diying art. Fuck the guitar and the music, which is great just besides my point, you can tell a story and paint a picture with the best of the them. It was truly my pleasure and will continue to be a pleasure to hear your stories. Seriously though it really bothers me the way you trim your strings lol
Childers was raw and so good in the beginning. I saw two or three shows where he had songs that he had just came up with which ended up going on the country squire album. Those songs were amazing and raw before the overproduced country squire album in my opinion. Then I saw a show after country squire came out and those songs sounded nothing like before. Less is more sometimes.
Try listening to this song with a rainstorm in the background. Or, in another tab if you're on a computer, pull up a rainstorm ambient track. It combines well.
I build houses by my self and I’m on my first one I was picking the trenches in pa over the winter it rained so hard and I had to work I’m almost crying now cause of what I’ve already been through and after being addicted to heroin I just thought god would look out but I survived so I suspect he was thank you lord for my life and I’m sorry
I'm so proud of my eastern Ky brothers and the resurgence of the spirit of the ORIGINAL blue grass and heartfelt folk music!

Thank you Red Barn Radio for introducing me to this amazing artist!
It's good to hear a Appalachia boy sing from the heart.
To the 9 people who thumbs downed-go listen to Luke Bryan

Saw this guy in pineville a few months ago. Went for lost dog, but he had the best performance of the ENTIRE weekend. This guy is is an absolute gem.
Love all the hammer ons. Great picker and singer. This is a great song
This song just hits something in me. Can't quit listening to it. This guy is gonna be somebody.
Great lyrics and passion for Appalachia music! You’ve got talent boy! Keep strumming and singing, the rest of the world will realize it eventually.
Cole's Mercy album is one of the best albums I've listened to. Love it. This one is great and the rest of the album is just as great!
Hailing from farm land Ohio, I love hearing you Eastern KY boys make music. The landscape may be different but lifestyle is the same.
Vocal tone, melody, lyrics, emotion, sound mix is pure perfection !!! This top shelf music and talent !
I never ever write comments on RUclips, but i just have to say "thank you for what you do"... Never stop what you do we love you!
I inherited this plot of land when mama’s daddy died
This little surveyed piece of earth is where I’ve spent my life
Rainwater is to cornfields like whiskey is to men
Just have enough to keep you standing, too much will do you in
These rainclouds settled in, one early winter night
The grey of winter dawn is choking out all the sunlight
The little sandy river, she’s drowning in her tears
With her she’ll take my good dirt and a hundred head of steer
The rain keeps on a falling as I cry out to my lord
Won’t you spare this land I broke my heart and backbone for
Well he don’t give me an answer as the rain keeps coming down
I’ll fight this flood to the bitter end or he washes me out
For forty days and fouty nights
They say noah built the ark and that he rode upon the tide
Lord I’ve got no boat and I’ve run out of time
Nothing left to live for and the last of my kind
The rain keeps on a falling as I cry out to my lord
Won’t you spare this land I broke my heart and backbone for
Well he don’t give me an answer as the rain keeps coming down
I’ll fight this flood to the bitter end or he washes me out
Well that muddy waters rising I can barely see the fence
Lord it rolls my way like a slow train loaded down with death
Son you can have your share if she leaves anything behind
Don’t bother draggin the river boy
Cause stones all that you’ll find
The rain keeps on a falling as I cry out to my lord
Won’t you spare this land I broke my heart and backbone for
Well he don’t give me an answer as the rain keeps coming down
I’ll fight this flood to the bitter end or he washes me out
** Don’t bother draggin the river boy
This note is all you’ll find.

Y'all should listen to his whole concert on reb barn radio. I've listened to it a couple of times and it's good.

Where has this ol boy been hidin?!! WOW
Never heard of this man. But the pure emotion in that thumbnail is what made me click
Best music out right now is coming from these independent artists. Childers hit the red carpet and now his music is falling short.
He lost me when he released his album about BLM. Haven't listened to him since.

I was getting into Childers when he started the race baiting virtue signals and did an apology for being white video. I haven't listened since.
