  • @dragon2712
    @dragon2712 13 лет назад +3

    Almost as amazing as the innings itself is the fact that what he did on day 1 will ensure, for years to come, that crowds will flock to test cricket once again. 32,000 views on this video alone in 3 days?
    Throw in the viewing pleasure of the pace attack, and test cricket will once again become the king sport in this country :D

    Wondering where Shane Watson will fit once he's back Rob. Cowan looks a solid test player and may end up as 1 down in place of Shaun Marsh. Maybe Watson and Warner will be a formidable opening pair. Either way, I would switch Cowan and Watson between number 3 but Warner seems untouchable right now. He's superb.

    I'd leave Cowan and Warner as the openers and put Watson in at around 6. When Watson bowls well and cleans up he has to come straight out to bat after a lengthy bowling spell. Cowan looks solid and can see the new ball off, unlike Hughes.

    @MrTimbo59 Have looked this up. Has happened seven times in the past, although more otfen more recently than you would think. Don't think rain affected pitches was the issue but rather opposition like Bangaldesh and Zimbabwe:
    Player - Runs - Final Score - Test #
    JHW Fingleton - 108 - 108 - 250
    WR Hammond - 118 - 167 - 253
    EdeC Weekes - 123 - 123 - 421
    Saeed Anwar - 101 - 101 - 1560

    A triple ton against any team in any condition is pure batting mastery, it takes patience, stamina, fitness, you name it! the effect of that knock will keep India demoralised throughout the summer. "...facing a beleaguered, aging and forlorn Indian attack"? Yeah? Really? The same attack that has won India the series the last two time the Aussies toured them? Get real mate.
