    The square port is a Dutton and the chain is a Paul Petska. The correctional port can be found by many bit makers.

    When my fly spay breaks I sometimes put a small bit of it on a towl and just rub it on their legs and wherever else.

    If the fly sprayer doesn't quit working the plastic gets cracked lol. I like the chain bit... I use a Blessing chain bit pretty similar to the Petska you have. Another great video

    I buy my fly spray in the bulk gallons and put them in a weed sprayer(unused of course, no weed killer in them) and spray my fly spray thru there! Works really well

    I use a chain bit similar just shorter shanked. I have ridden him in a 3 piece ported but he isn’t quite ready for it. Also one of my favourite bits is a 3 piece O-ring for schooling rides.

    Between the chain port and the correction what do you prefer the most and why?

    The first bit you show is a correction bit and it is on your bridle backwards. The copper inlay side and curves (Mullen) always go down, tongue side. No embarrassment or disrespect intended. Delete the comment and re-rig your bridle. I bet it suddenly becomes one of your favorite bits.

      You’re absolutely right. I don’t ride it very often. Thanks for reaching out.

    I started using a medium port correction bit several years ago. It helps lift their frontend to help my horse get their butt under them because I heel. My palomino is really soft so the shanks on her bit are about half the length of the ones you showed.

    Your favorite bit that you use on Blue looks to be a Dutton bit made by Greg Dutton. Great bits and affordable 👍

    Another beginner jabbering about stuff he doesn’t know. He has his correction bit hung backwards.

    I’m confused as to why western riders lean towards such strong bits. No hate I’m just like confused

    • @BarrettHouser
      @BarrettHouser  Год назад +1

      Bits are only harmful if you make them. Know how to use them correctly and they can be super soft for the horse.

    • @mollybelmont182
      @mollybelmont182 Год назад +1

      Well yes, but some bits are undeniable harsher than others and I’m wondering why people lean towards those.
