    I just bought this exact same one and installed it on my skiff. Well worth the money.

    it's not a "clamp"... it is not used to "minimize the hole you are going to drill".. its a ferrite choke, it stops RF interference in the feedline from other electronics.

    could you verify which transducer that came with. You say it is the 54, but the link (picture) you showed is the 56. Thanks

    Nice video!! Do you think it will compatible with the Garmin in hull transducer like gt8hw IH ? TiA

      @chunlimon7862
      Yes, the Garmin Echomap UHD 74SV is compatible with a wide range of Garmin transducers, including the GT8HW-IH. The GT8HW-IH is known for its high-wide CHIRP traditional sonar capabilities, which offer clear fish arches and excellent target separation. Given that the Echomap UHD series is designed to support advanced sonar features, including CHIRP technology, you should be able to take full advantage of the GT8HW-IH’s capabilities with the Echomap UHD 74SV.
      It’s always a good idea to check the latest compatibility charts on Garmin's official website or contact Garmin support directly to ensure that the transducer model you're interested in is fully compatible with your fish finder/chartplotter unit. This ensures that you can utilize all the advanced features without any issues.
      Happy fishing, and I hope you find the perfect setup for your needs!

    Can you use this 74sv with the gt54 transducer on lakes and in freshwater? Or is it strictly saltwater ocean?

      Yes you can absolutely use it for freshwater. Some features like the side scanning will shine in this scenario.

      Thanks for the help! I figured with the 73SV and the 74sv with them both having gt54 transducers the only difference was the coastal maps where the 73 has the inland maps! Was told you can just buy the inland maps on the 74sv and be the same. New to these! Thanks for help!

      74sv comes with coastal, for inland need the 73sv map. Purchased it on SD card from Garmin. It now shows both maps without any issues.
