Love it! Just a hint I saw somewhere, down the RUclips rabbit hole, to protect the rest of your journal when working with such wet stuff, get a large plastic, wider than your book, and cut a slit in the middle but not all the way, like a postbox slit that you can just slip the two pages you working on and open up flat, that way you have a barrier between the two pages and the rest of your book. I was messing up all my previous pages edges every time I did a new work. I used an a3 plastic file cover.
another option, which I do, is to put deli sheets under the page you're working on and let them hang out of the book so you don't get paint, etc on the pages before or after.
I do this with watercolour paper, then when the papers look interesting I scan them and print them out to make really interesting collage papers - then I keep using the watercolour papers again until I re scan them :)
that sounds Brilliant! I usually put deli sheets under each page, but they tend to slide around thus getting the wet paint on the underside of the page, ruining whatever I did there.. .
I totally agree with that!! This page is the best thing I've ever seen - of all the pages I've seen anywhere! I can't say it enough or watch you create this too many times. I do a happy dance every time I see this!
I am just starting my first art journal ever. I’m super excited but nervous at the same time. I’ve been binging your videos the last couple days since discovering your channel, and they are a huge help! Every time I watch one of your videos, I feel a little more well-prepared every time. Thanks for the great content!!
This is still my favorite one from you. Probably my favorite vid of all on RUclips. Can you make this on a larger canvas? I'm positive people will pay very, very well for it!!! I've tried replicating this, but failed miserably ❤❤
A trick I do with tissue paper is when I want images going in the opposite direction. Stamp your tissue paper, cut it after the inks dry. Then you glue down the tissue paper upside down, with matte medium or clear gesso. When its dry, you have your image facing through, in the direction you want.
Stunning. Very Informative. The visuals are extremely helpful. The ideas (especially stamping on tissue paper) are clever. I also liked the Gel Medium application. Thank You for taking the time to make this video.
Perfect background for this stamp! The Poska pen added a nice bit of brightness. Very inspiring to let go and play. I love to happy-dance! Thanks so much.
What an absolutely gorgeous vibrant page! I will definitely be using these techniques to create something. Thank you so much for sharing & inspiring me 😁
I could watch you work FOREVER♥, I'm just learning to do art journals, working mostly with mark making...... you give me such inspiration and great ideas! So glad I found your page and subscribed. AMAZING!
Fabulous, fun page, I love your colourful style. I watch and learn so much from your videos. Please, what is the stencil with the dots and the harlequin stencil, just what I have been looking for!💕🇨🇦
Hi! Just wanted to let you know I gave this page a try! I had fun and at the end like you I was doing a mental happy dance! Obviously I didn’t have all the same products as you, but I had a great time and used what I had. Thanks for doing all these amazing videos!
The most important thing you said tome in this video is that sometimes you feel like your page is NOT working as you go along so you keep adding the layer after layer until it does! For some reason I though everyone started out with the idea ad the page just worked out. I have one successful page in maybe five and have one such work-in-progress sitting on my table right now. I was off to a great start but then 'ruined it' when a later layer turned it all one colour. Now I'm thinking I could just add a new layer of different acrylic inks or paints to see if I can break it up.
Brenda Collins Deeks pretty much every page I do I have no idea how it will turn out. I think that is why I’m not as precious with them as I just don’t know what I’m going to do. So adding more layers, or a large collage focal point doesn’t worry me. The best thing I can say to you is that you can always paint over things, or cut into them or tear it out if you really don’t like it once you’re finished. But I’ve found that usually I end up liking the page after a while:) sometimes leaving it for a few days and coming back with fresh eyes gelid too xxx
I used a large dylusions journal for this. The supplies are collage tissue from Dina wakley, rose stamp by art from Marlene- and acrylic paints from Dina wakley and Amsterdam paints. Here is a video on my favourite supplies- ruclips.net/video/SBytkMksniQ/видео.html
one of my favorite pages! colors so vivid and you do such a great job of explaining your layers. Wondering if you went back with your Posca to the flower on the top right? ha ha,
I don't know why RUclips is showing me collage type of art today. It's all over my recommended videos. And I'm loving it! This is so beautiful.
Thank you so much
Omg. GIRL! I feel like my brain just opened up and “got it”. New to paper arts.
Yay that’s awesome!!! Welcome to art journalling

I actually just tried this yesterday and it worked amazingly but I was using cling plastic wrap

It’s really fun when every step works out perfectly. We need a support group for artists that can’t seem to create white space in their work. I’m in.
