I like the way you cutting the ball Jason! I'm a 60 yr old senior league player here in SouthernCal and am trying to emulate your form and style. Been practicing cutting just recently and I know I have a long ways to go but I'm beginning to hit line drives and distance when I do it properly. When I do everything right, timing and all, man, the ball just takes off! So like you commented down below "key is to keep practicing". I take a peek at this video before going out in the backyard and practice with the tee.
Excellent technique and impressive! I'm a bit confused though, I'm a competitive long drive golfer (375 yard drives or so) and for us backspin is the enemy of distance. We want to eliminate it for maximum carry. Just curious why it's important in softball.
3000+rpm on a golf ball kills drives, but also less than 1000rpm.. same here, you need to generate some level of backspin to get carry, but it's no where near what you'd see on a ballooning drive.
@@jasonlegault I'm learning watching you it's more important to flip your hits faster and stand up instead of just loading up on your back leg. I really appreciate it!
Really poor form. I am a hitting instructor so I know what I am talking about. He gets the bat head out in front and then has to recoil. Waste of energy. Common among these kinds of people. Not the brightest.
So you're supposed to swing with the bat head behind? Lol. He doesn't do what you're saying... he snaps the bat quickly, leading with his hands. The bat head has to catch up before contact for maximum exit velo.
Wish i had someone to throw batting practice like this pitching. All perfect pitches
Get a tee and/or invest in a black flame [in the off season] then everyone throws a perfect strike to ya, cheers

The seams on the ball?????
When you have backspin even if it's no distance the first bounce its gone past the infield or an outfielder
The seams on the ball produce lift with backspin. The same reason why a 4 seam fastball from a pitcher doesn't sink = backspin
The fence looks a little short.
300 everywhere
@@jasonlegault Gotcha...J's clean though.
1:12 was the best one.
Kind of off topic but where did you get that turf mat?

I have trouble getting my front foot down,or my weight fully transferred I'm getting caught somewhere in the middle
Key is to keep practicing. Video yourself so you could see why you’re doing wrong.

C'mon bro ita just a slow pitch softball
Yeah, was laughing pretty good too. The 2 batting gloves and spikes add to it

It’s softball not baseball. Requires a different approach.
You're a slowpitch hitting instructor?? It's called cutting the ball and not the same as a typical swing
I think hes talking about how he shifts the bat back and forth in his hands right before he actually swings. Like waggles the bat
@Dylan Younie Is there a certain technique to doing this? I've seen people do this for years but never figured out how to do it myself
