The price of producing a cosmetic in Korea is cheaper than everywhere else, that's why many brands make their cosmetics there, even Western. The quality isn't always good as everyone says (I'm obsessed with ingredients so I check everything) and a lot tests on animals. I live currently in SK and 90% of products I find are a no... even the most popular brands for being "good" use fragrances and that's the first step to a bad skincare product so when people tell me that skincare just has to be Korean to be good enough I sigh 😅

I decided to invest in korean skincare and boom, acne? gone. pores? invisible. dryness? never heard of her.

One tip for you girls that always buy wrong foundation tones: your skin might be olive, so buy a green concealer and mix it in your foundation before you apply it. Mix the necessary amount of green concealer until it matches the color of your skin. Always match your neck tone, btw. It might be necessary to apply more amounts of green foundation depending on the area of the face (if you want an even more natural look to your skin). Hope this tip helps you girls with olive skin. It is also valid for black girls, btw, just buy a darker green tone, white girls must buy a more pastel/pale green.

She has avoided the sun her whole life so her skin is still pretty youthful for 90! My dad is dark Irish, black hair and white freckled skin. I got a little of both with my moms undertone and my dads overtime 🤷🏼‍♀️Anyway they were bought out and like usual they started changing formulas and shades they changed so I found it hard to match ANY of their standard foundation. When they sold I was still using their foundation. Now I’ve moved on. I did buy Calyx their only fragrance it’s wonderful.

    • @sebumpostmortem

Very good point! (Not me trying shades on the lid because it was the only area free of redness🤦🏻‍♀️). Anyways, the neck color aka "how my face should be" is just an orientation. The only way to make sure that the foundation matches is applying it on top of the redness, wait about 10 mins for fully oxidation and scrutinize it under DAYLIGHT✨. I' ve learned it the hard way. They disappeared on my neck but, BOOM!, once at home, they turned orange or too dark on my face. So, 3-4 stripes from forehead to clavicle, literally😅, wait and daylight. Any other way, is a NO. Hope it helps🧛🏻‍♀️🖤

For those expressing frustrations that they don't offer your skin shade (like mine)... there's an overabundance of cosmetic brands that exist that weren't developed with East Asian skintones and needs in mind. It's not odd that brands originating in certain regions are going to focus on 99% of their customer base. What is odd is ignoring literally thousands of great brands that do provide shades for darker skin tones... and instead, demanding that East Asian brands cater to that.
A lot of my skincare products are Korean, and many of my makeup products are from Asian brands as well. But my foundation/concealer are always from brands like Hourglass, Saie, Nars, Fenty, etc. Find your shade and just order refills online. Haven't had to get my 'shade matched' in years :)

Ah yes, the professional grade lighting and video editing didn’t do anything to help right? 😐 You still believe people look the same way in real life as they do online? Girlypop I hate to be the one to break it to you but you’re in for a big surprise if you ever see any of these people irl

Don't trust your hand or your arm to give you the perfect foundation shade match because it's always darker or lighter than your actual face is.
