The concept of color match custom made foundation , was done back in the 80’s at the makeup counters in the U.S by a cosmetic brand called PRESCRIPTIVES . One of their marketing PR was to print the RX symbol on their products..
Than kinda marketing sounds seriously unethical, to act like your stuff is in the same league as actual medication. Also, they weren't the first to do that. In fact it used to be the norm for a long while. You can find old clips on youtube of women getting custom mixed face powder and the like.
Prescriptives foundation matched me the best. I’m fair with Mediterranean heritage. My mother had very light olive toned skin. She has avoided the sun her whole life so her skin is still pretty youthful for 90! My dad is dark Irish, black hair and white freckled skin. I got a little of both with my moms undertone and my dads overtime 🤷🏼♀️Anyway they were bought out and like usual they started changing formulas and shades they changed so I found it hard to match ANY of their standard foundation. When they sold I was still using their foundation. Now I’ve moved on. I did buy Calyx their only fragrance it’s wonderful.
Ugghhh I NEED this!!! As a fair skin girly, I can NEVER find anywhere close to a true match! And actually my closest match I’ve ever had is a Korean makeup company! Pūrlisse is the ONLY company I’ve even bought from that matches my complexion EXACTLY. I love Korean skin care and makeup for my complexion, so much easier to find a match! ❤
This is very cool. It gets frustrating because some more than most can never find the right shade but I get it bc companies can only make so many shades

The issue with finding a shade match is face redness. I mean, a huge purpose of foundation is to cover redness. So if I matched to my face or even my upper neck area, I’d be wearing pink foundation!! I match to my lower neck/chest area and it’s a great way to get a perfect match.
Very good point! (Not me trying shades on the lid because it was the only area free of redness🤦🏻♀️). Anyways, the neck color aka "how my face should be" is just an orientation. The only way to make sure that the foundation matches is applying it on top of the redness, wait about 10 mins for fully oxidation and scrutinize it under DAYLIGHT✨. I' ve learned it the hard way. They disappeared on my neck but, BOOM!, once at home, they turned orange or too dark on my face. So, 3-4 stripes from forehead to clavicle, literally😅, wait and daylight. Any other way, is a NO. Hope it helps🧛🏻♀️🖤
That is not the point of foundation that is the point of color correction. Color correction is done under the foundation the same way that leveling is done under the foundation of a house.

Its actually not that bad. Cheaper than some high end foundations. It’s approximately $45 USD (60,000 KRW) for the foundation and for the cushion foundation, it cost $33 USD (45,000 KRW).
For those expressing frustrations that they don't offer your skin shade (like mine)... there's an overabundance of cosmetic brands that exist that weren't developed with East Asian skintones and needs in mind. It's not odd that brands originating in certain regions are going to focus on 99% of their customer base. What is odd is ignoring literally thousands of great brands that do provide shades for darker skin tones... and instead, demanding that East Asian brands cater to that. A lot of my skincare products are Korean, and many of my makeup products are from Asian brands as well. But my foundation/concealer are always from brands like Hourglass, Saie, Nars, Fenty, etc. Find your shade and just order refills online. Haven't had to get my 'shade matched' in years :)
Girl It’s literally not even about that I’m not trying to be rude or nothing but literally it’s only about the fact that we all try so many different shades of foundation but somehow can’t fine the perfect foundation for us we’re not necessarily saying that we can’t find foundations that are dark enough for dark skin it’s literally we can’t find foundation shades that are an exact match to any of our skin tones because we don’t have a machine like that that could exactly tell us in other parts of the country so it’s going to be extremely hard to find that and all we want to know is How we can get the perfect foundation it’s not all about not finding one that’s dark enough For us it’s literally about the fact that we can’t find one that matches has completely FYI not trying to be rude if I’m coming off that way merry Christmas!
Ew, no. A big brand like this that also sells in the US can do its job to release enough shades for everyone. It’s no one’s job to just be ok being excluded, and it’s pretty gross of you to tell people to do that.

Girl what hyperpigmentation, youre perfect
Absolutely.
She did say that her forehead was 12 Shades Darker than the rest of her face.
@@samariapenaloza6106 that’s not hyperpigmentation though. That’s just natural variations in skin tone. Hyperpigmentation is different than that, it’s dark skin discoloration that can be from a variety of things from sun damage to hormones.

yea but the camera doesn't pick up tiny details. she probably has small lines and dark spots ect
Thats no compliment. Thats Makeup shaming. You need good skin to wear foundation. Foundation was never meant for bad skin.
The camera does pickup. You’re calling cameras inaccurate when they are accurate. Lines and what youve mentioned doesn’t mean bad skin. All humans have that. You are basically shaming someone for having something all humans have regardless of how good their skin is. These arent flaws

It's all the filter my guy. Filters nowadays are so advanced that even if you put your hand in front of the camera the AI on the face filter doesnt go away or warp weirdly. Some phones will deliberately brighten the image on the camera too to make pores less visible. If you're using a professional camera every pore and dark marks on the face will appear. Cameras on phones nowadays have a built in feature to make your face much more clear than irl.
That robot is soo cuteee!!
This is pure genius ❤
That triangle bag is SO cute 💖💖💖

who the heck shade matches foundation on their arm? 😭 this girl
That’s what I was thinking 😭 I mean based off of the huge differences on the arm I don’t think it would match but still 😭😭😭
Girls 💀✌️
her cheek and forehead even had different shades, imagine her arm 🤣
A color can still match your arm…
@@I..exist..yk.yea cuz infants and grandads match it somewhere else right???
Omg girl i want the skincareroutine you have

@@joslynmitchell5073 Didn't read it as rude at all but appreciate you making it clear. My comment wasn't directed at you but at people, specifically those outside of Asia, who complain about the shortcomings of East Asian makeup brands. I feel you on the 'exact match' thing because I've always had to buy multiple shades and blend to get my precise skin tone. I remember being in high school and literally looking like a ghost because dark enough shades simply did not exist. I feel like it's a luxury to have such an abundance of makeup brands/options to choose from in this day and age. That's where I was coming from
@@littlesparkkitten First of all, I can see where the entitlement comes from because your language is that of a 12 year old.
Second, a brand doesn't *owe* you anything lol. If a brand doesn't cater to your specific needs, you can give your dollars to any of the countless other brands that do. It's simple
