Carved through the field like a champ. I said to someone when we discussed how SVG would adapt to ovals, that he would be regular top ten within two years, and his consistency is improving a lot.
So glad for a driver from our V8 series showing what our guys are capable of

@InvincibleRacingMotorsports yup and never had the car to do well on ovals too, but big respect to shane, and the scottys in indy.
SvG is the reason i watch Xfinity this year and his driving is absolutely incredible on road courses, and the way he keeps improving on the ovals is just beautiful to witness. Cannot wait to see more of him !

Anyone that thinks SVG is only going to be good on road courses is in for a shock. He’s building speed on the ovals with maturity. Watch this space.
Glad the roof camera died because the in-car camera is so much better imo
It’s so good! You can see SVG tightening his belts nearly every straightaway.. also, can see the trust he has in Hill to follow him through early, as much as the rivalry has been played up, you can see SVG is learning from EVERYONE around him!

Your guy will be pleasing you guys very much in the coming months, after watching Shane since 97 in Supercars he is now looking more and more comfortable on the ovals, he very much is a confidence driver, with impeccable car control, in car he seems more relaxed.
Shanes fast in ANY discipline racing wise, was sad to see him go even though I’m a Ford guy(the Scotty Mac era was awesome!)but I’m soooo stoked on his behalf. The last few laps with the gap to the 3 ahead would’ve been great honing of the craft time for him. I remember one race he qualified near on last(Shane will remember which race as it slips my mind at the moment) fought back through the field to I think 3rd of 4th only to have a rear shock bolt give out on him, he did that with a broken collar bone!
Bring on the next oval!

@cptvane3439 he spent a fair few laps close to Hill in this race, i was half expecting him to get a little nudge at some point. Hill spun another driver, forget his name though. It did look accidental though

He Passed Aj On An Oval 💯
SVG seems to be doing a decent job on the ovals, even though he's finishing in the teens most of the time, it seems. But a few more results like this and his podium at Atlanta and his P6 at Phoenix and he'll move up the standings for sure. And he seems to be the one to beat on the road courses, for now at least.

SVG has 3 wins and 5 top 5 finishes for 500 points. Allmendinger has no wins and 3 top 5 finishes for 609 points. We don't understand the NASCAR points system in Australia.
Allmendinger is ahead because he finished Top 10ish at most races where he didn’t grab a top 5. Compared to Shane who sometimes finishes deep in the field. With this old points system, it’s possible to remain well in the standings by just having a high average finishing position (I.e, coming in 2nd every race). SVG is getting there though.

Great racing SVG, but at this restart at the beginning when the spotter says green green they just keep following the cars in front for what seems like ages. Can they not pull out and start passing if its green already ?
I’ll be honest, I believe the footage, and radio is out of sync. Seems the radio feed is earlier than the footage.

You also have some like George Kurtz, Owner of CrowdStrike and a LMP2 driver in IMSA. He has a special sticker inside in memory of a daughter that he lost.
did he accidentally grab reverse in pit road at the end?
I rewatched it a few times closely lol. He entered pit road in 2nd gear (after quickly downshifting from 4th). Before slowing down and waving at his crew, he popped it out of 2nd and back in. He then seemed to stall the engine, but quickly got it going by downshifting into 1st, and back to 2nd. Lol
