One with the Stars has Enchant Enchantment because once its attached to a creature, it would cease to be attached the moment its no longer a creature. Its to protect the aura staying on board more than offering you a redundant target option!
Minion of the Wastes is also good in Golgari because Green often has those effects where you draw cards or gain life equal to a creature's power or toughness.
I use Acolyte Hybrid (and his little brother Goblin Vandal) in my Kardur deck. Attack triggers are very good after all opposing creatures are tapped out from being forced to swing at each other.
I had a 60 card fling deck that used minion of the wastes. Immolating Souleater and Wall of blood are lower cmc creatures that basically do the same thing.
Love One with the Stars. Super fun card that leads to lots of shenanigans. I have it in my Minn, wily illusionist deck. Being able to sac an illusion with 4 or more power in response to a boardwipe so i can have Minn dodge the boardwipe is really satisfying
Acolyte Hybrid also doesn't care which opponent you are attacking, so you can attack the person that is open to hit an artifact owned by a player with blockers. I agree that the 40k decks have a lot of gems. I took some cards from all the precons in that set and used them to juice up the Abaddon deck. No non-40k cards, just cards from the other 3 decks.
Before you even mentioned willowdusk for minion of the wastes, I was thinking about my own willowdusk deck and figured it would be a fantastic card in there!
I love these!!!! Especially the six drop black creature!!! A Mickey and the gitrog the ravenous ride deck and that would be perfect for that. The turn it come in you saddle it to gitrog, let's say you paid 15 life, I get to sacrifice it as gitrog deal damage and I get to draw 15 cards and put any number of lands onto the battlefield?! Let's go!!!!!
Traverse the ulvenwald is really an MDFC-land. Basically a terramorphic expanse effect restricted to green. Later it can still be a land or it can be a creature. Same with the new karlov manor version of the same effect (Analyze the Pollen) that asks you to "collect evidence" if you want to look for a creature.
One with the stars was for the devotion gods from theros to prevent them from ever becoming creatures once they had enough devotion. Was designed as draft chaff
Machine God’s effigy will do the same thing as One with the Stars. Legend rule will kill the Original but you’ll have a non creature artifact version of your commander, etc. And it’ll tap for mana.
Im gonna be honest. Portcullis is one of my favourite pick-ups you recommended. Especially in voltron/Mutate decks. It shuts down some pretty nasty tactics like Tergrid. Thanks for a new favourite card man!
I have One with the Stars in my Errant and Giada just for that reason. I was also thinking Stave Off could work, too. Giving the creature your opponent controls protection from the color you want. To fizzle the spell or make auras or colored equipment fall off.
I have no clue why minion of the wastes isn't in more willowdusk decks. That whole interaction got me to start building my willowdusk deck in the first place
I play one with the stars in my minn deck. I can cast it on my own commander to help protect it or have it cheat in if an illusion dies with enough power
Minion of the Waste could be a standout card but I think Phyrexian Processor could be better. It's an artifact so it can be put into any deck you want, you still get the effect of paying life to convert it into power/toughness for a creature, but you can make multiple creatures this way. It's 8 total mana for one creature on the initially cast but its repeatable since you are creating the creature via paying 4 and tapping an artifact. Just a thought.
I used to play traverse the ulvenwald but then it spiked up to like $6 and I sold my copies and then forgot about it so I will think about putting it back in decks
Isn't Analyze the Pollen better than Traverse the Ulvenwald? I think it would be easier to have total mana value of 8 in the yard than Delirium in commander.
One with the stars needs to be able to enchant enchantments, otherwise it would fall off from its own effect. If it coudl only enchant creature, it is no longer enchanting a creature, so would go to the graveyard as a state-based action. Auras are funny.
An other way of fucking up people playing feather or enchantments is Stormscape Master and Thornscape Master. It's the only cards (except stave of but that's not repeatable) i know where you can give ANY target creature protection from the colour of your choice (and doesn't have a stipulation for not dropping of enchantments). It's hilarious and honestly the effect isn't even that bad if you're not facing any of those strategies.
Because an enchantment only targets when it is cast. Once it has resolved, it no longer targets, and shroud no longer cares. Protection, on the other hand, prevents both targeting and being Enchanted/Equipped/Fortified.
I've hosed so many players with Alexis cloak lol Also, enchantments like one with the stars must say enchantment in addition to creature so the aura doesn't fall off after resolution. Much like in too deep mentions enchant clue.

Just like how Animate Dead has to be super weird too, with its wall of text even though it's a really simple effect.
Another thing is you can put it on one of the Theros gods before they reach the devotion threshold to become a creature.
In Too Deep is a great example of this. It turns something into a Clue, so it also has to have enchant Clue
I thought it was meant to get Gods from the same set when they’re not creatures. Didn’t think of the rules being the reason
Another card for first example is Vines of Vastwood, good old times fizzling Splinter Twin in modern
great pick, thanks for reminding me of this.

Traverse the Uvenwald. I have a foil one, really should find a home for it.
vines of vastwood works like you want and prevents opponents targeting their creatures
Had no clue that minion existed. Insanely good

Love Minion of the Wastes, I'll have to check your Willowdusk list out since that's where I'm using Minion too
Dismantling wave needs see more play , hidden gem!!!
I put minion of the wastes in a deck a month ago. Super cool to see you recommend it
Love these videos thank you for the time and work. I love me gems and value
I had a 60 card fling deck that used minion of the wastes. Immolating Souleater and Wall of blood are lower cmc creatures that basically do the same thing.
favorite series, glad to see it again

One With the Stars would be great in my Gor Muldrak group hug deck...
For an efficient version of one with the stars, see also Swift Reconfiguration .
I love that Corrupted Conscience for my Zevlor deck. Zev only having 2 toughness is a huge downside and all I need is that ability baby
You were thinking of Vines of Vastwood for your big play with Blacksmith's Skill - for it does NOT say hexproof
I made a similar deck with Elsha of the infinite. It reduces the cost of artifacts and gets diving top and firebrand archer to burn everyone
Demo failed to mention that one with the stars is specifically good against an opponent's darksteel colossus
I have One with the Stars in my Errant and Giada just for that reason.
I was also thinking Stave Off could work, too. Giving the creature your opponent controls protection from the color you want. To fizzle the spell or make auras or colored equipment fall off.
One with Stars can enchant a Theros God before it becomes a creature, and it never will.
I had Traverse in my old Gitrog deck - it's a stupid good card.

Acolyte Hybrid might be good in Anim Pakal. Making all those Gnome tokens.
I love the Warhammer set. I keep finding gems too!
I used to play traverse the ulvenwald but then it spiked up to like $6 and I sold my copies and then forgot about it so I will think about putting it back in decks
Bro I've been playing Alexis Cloak for forever.
Phyrexian Processor makes x /x creatures that are equal to life spent at cast.
Oarh of legies needs more play, and you should 100% run aramgedon along side it just to screw over the green player who cast ramp spells.
Isn't Analyze the Pollen better than Traverse the Ulvenwald? I think it would be easier to have total mana value of 8 in the yard than Delirium in commander.
🔥
no omen machine?

that's funny. didn't even realize it.

Proud minion of the wastes advocate

Even better against those is Earnest Fellowship. It also messes with blocking for everyone, though, so you may need to account for that.
Rules question: why does protection cause auras of the appropriate color to fall off, but shroud does not?
Because an enchantment only targets when it is cast. Once it has resolved, it no longer targets, and shroud no longer cares. Protection, on the other hand, prevents both targeting and being Enchanted/Equipped/Fortified.
@@coreyroberson4550 gotcha. I had it in my mind that protection stopped it somewhere in the “targeting” portion of its rules for some reason.
